Fyi, the antenna is built in, and actually gets very good reception. Price $199 and availability is July
That seems a bit much, when I wear a headset and if I'm moving in and out the speaker's range, stick my phone in a pocket. I have bunch of old phones if I'm afraid of damaging mine. I had a Bosch jobsite radio that I never used. Why so big?
A USB-A port isn't an issue. There is no high-speed data going on here. USB-A to USB-C cords are everywhere. They're still the norm. 'C' to 'C' is much less common except, perhaps, with the cult of Apple. Only then because Apple was so late to the party. The cult finally went kicking and screaming into the 21st century.
My two biggest complaints are it cant charge the battery while plugged in and it cant be put mid stack in a link stack setup. Like milwaukee has made a point of making every packout module have a top that can be stacked. For 199 it should have both of those as options.
Another small gripe is theres no spot to clamp on the smaller speakers for transport, just a little cutout on the side opposite the handle so you could hang 2 speakers would be great. Being able to charge batteries off this would allow you to charge the clamp speaker batteries with this
I completely concur.
Does the lid comes off?
Is there space inside?
Thx.👍
No AM killed it for me.
Ditto
I Heart Radio or any other streaming service or, if you insist, on OTA AM stream from the station's web site. I find Podcasts better anyway.
@@kwilliams2239 In places with no Internet access, and weak FM, AM is the only option.
@@madpogue I just use a streaming service or podcasts. If you're that far out in the boonies, AM is going to suck.
@@kwilliams2239 AM reaches remote locations better than FM. Streaming service == Internet required.
*_Nice dance moves Clint, that RYOBI radio looks real Nass Like!_*
Are you killing me with kindness 🤔😒
And if you like the FACT that Ryobi is TRASH, then smash the like button!!
@@chakagillis 🤣
You know OhiO... after seeing your off road toys, HUGE house and all that grass you own, not to mention the expensive vacuum stiks, YOU must be THE RICHEST MAN in Chillicothe... ive been there (unfortunately) ... and tho you dress like a local, i know you got hundreds or even thousands... smFh
Actually, I film all my video in front of other people's houses. Yes, I do get chased off from time to time, however... I am very resilient and keep coming back 😎
Nevermind the USB-A vs USB-C charging port debate... when are these tool companies that make & sell jobsite radios gonna add either a data-capable USB port that can handle a thumb drive with MP3s on it, or an SD or Micro SD port for the same purpose? It would cost them mere pennies to add, and you could put your entire personal music collection on a $15 storage device, and take it with you anywhere the radio is. It's an incredibly stupid lost opportunity.
Is the USB port charging only? If so, I agree. At the same time, how do you select tracks? Just shuffle?
@@kwilliams2239 I don't know of a single jobsite radio that supports MP3 playing from its USB port. They're all just for supplying power for charging a device (such as a phone).
I'm not claiming there are NONE that can play MP3s, just that I don't know of any. If anybody knows otherwise, please cite the make & model.
@@kwilliams2239 Regarding the track selection, they might have to add a button or two for that. Surprisingly, I picked up some Link clamp-on speakers and found that those could not skip forward or back through tracks, either. You had to use your phone to navigate. Lame! That was a deal-breaker for me, and I returned them.
@@floobertuber You're probably right, just for the reasons stated. Selecting tracks would really be hard. I'd want something more than forward, pause, and skip, too. I'd want to be able to select playlists, if not individual tracks. Cell phones already do all of this, so why spend the money? Everyone has a cell phone with them.
@@kwilliams2239 Because it's yet another device to have to lug around. I have a smartphone (like most people) but I love leaving that sum'bitch at home or in my car, where it can't bother or distract me.
But like I said, it's a cheap option to add. No need to drop standard bluetooth support or phone interfacing. It should have both! To each his own.
That does in fact look real nass like Clint! Good review and scientific experiment! You are the man!
I was told I would never get Vance to dance, but Vance did Dance....it's called the Vance Dance 😎😎😎
How do i get one early to test. Ive been theough so many of theirs , usually the pcb for button presses dies.
Im looking for Ryobi to fix that HP reciprocating saw arbor problem, breaking off the shaft, that a lot of ppl have. Is it safe to buy one now or wait for an eventual update? I already have the previous version 1 of the HP line, but that has smoked a few times and seems to always be in oscillation mode, even if the dial is turned to straight.
They all orbit a little (all brands) due to the nature of how they're designed. The ryobi ones do not have a dial or adjustable orbital mode.
Subscribed!👍
Love the video, think I'm holding out for that high dollar cooler though. Have you done a review on the ryobi cooler?
Haha thanks for the comment and welcome to the channel Austin. Yep, di a Cid on the cooler and still love it!
Clint, I would buy that if it would mount to my wheelchair ,AND it had your song prerecorded.. take care
Lol, maybe I can work out a deal with Ryobi like U2 did with Apple 🤔🤣
Can you connect 2 of these together? I know you can connect a bunch of the small ones but 2 of these would be great. I work in a shop, a very loud one at that so one of these on either side of my area would be perfect. Also, how does it compare to the similar dewalt radio in volume?
It seems ok. It is a ryobi, not ryobi product. Wish they would have made it to charge batteries like milwaukee
How does it compare to the Milwaukee pack out radio?
Love the song😂. That is a nice! Thank you for the review!
Haha, thanks brother man Patrick
I thought it was a radio/mini fridge. Now THAT people want
Always love your reviews brother! My guys buy anything you recommend!!!!
Haha, you da man Sean. Always good to hear from you brother!!!
Can’t wait to see how loud this is for outdoor movies
D.J. Clint, the music Man. Your skills are endless 🔊🔊🔊.
Tool review zone Ryobi very good for you nice work thanks bring it on
Ryobi makes everything, next thing you know we gonna be getting Ryobi Pop-Tarts along side ryobi women pads😂
I've got the older boombox and I like it. It has a space under the handle for your phone, although the Galaxy phones are too big to fit neatly. The link compatibility is cool, but nothing that would get me to switch.
I bought 2 of the new ridgid radio's. On sale at Christmas 99 bucks I really like them
“That just happened”😭😭😭 TRV on the 1’s & 2’s.🤣
Why no am radio? I listen to news, talk , sports?….Also no remote? Thanks for the good review though!
Most don't come with a remote, ut agree about the am
Fuggin dying!!! LOL Great video man
Haha thanks brother
Now that's some real naaas like yinzer ingenuity by you Clint. Vcg who !!!!
Was like a blacked out then woke up to song Rick 🤷
Mark Thomas builder says it REE-OBI not RYE-OBI. 😂😂 I set him straight. He’s a good guy. 👍
I like Mark.....but......... I am glad you told him what was up Ron. There is no excuse for him mispronouncing a brand name like that publicly 👊👊👊
What is inside that thing? It's huge! There must be storage space inside.
Theres a 50w subwoofer and 2 tweeters, it needs space behind the speakers for air so it can produce good, non muffled sound
I would have been sold on this if it had dual battery ports and a wireless charger on top too.
Maybe Ryobi does that because Ryobi didn't.
What's the price?
you earned my Subscibtion!!
That's weird... When I tested this Ryobi Verse Link Stereo, it only works with Ryobi speakers, not Ryobi. 🤔
Come on Mark!! YOU KNOW IT'S RYOBI NOT RYOBI!!!
@@ToolReviewZone Well... one thing we can agree on is that this stereo should've had AM radio too.
@MarkThomasBuilder definitely agreed brotha
The hybrid batt/plug thats real nice like. Enjoy 😉
Absolute monstrousity
All that space and they couldn't manage to put in a tiny am antenna?
It has an intenna, just internal
We really enjoy listening to your new made-up song along with the video with the other guy we look forward to seeing more videos like this 😜😜🤪🤪🤔🤔🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🥳😂😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😁
Legend has it, he is still dancing. Thanks for the comment beetle 👊
The song was awesome! Specially the vcg part! Lmao!😂😂
😎😎😎👊
Friggin....Ryobi, why do you keep feeding my addiction to bluetooth speakers?!?!?!
You can hook them all up to this now 🤣🤣
I think you’re right on this one, it’s OK but it could’ve done better. Having the charging plug right where your battery is it’s kind of an issue, they should’ve had a charger on there and there’s clearly a lot of room inside that case. They could’ve had a wireless charger on top for your phone, maybe a little sleeve to slide it in to hold it down while you’re traveling around and like you said the USBc port Come up, but I think they should’ve integrated battery charger with it, I was expecting the top to open up and have storage or something inside because I can’t imagine that whole box is full of electronic components. O_o
Doe's it have DAB?
Ryobi has to come up with 18v 6 port Simultaneous fast charger… I made 2 sets of 6 chargers work really good for emergency and camping stuff but bulky to carry around
One thing I dislike is Ryobi didn't put the link connectors on top of this speaker so you can attach small bins or vacuum on top
That is real 'nas like! Thanks for the great video.
the fact that people don't get how ANNOYING it is to listen to the guy for ACTUAL southerners..
@warmfreeze One person's annoyance is another's "kinda 'Nas like!" 😀
Haha 🤣👊👊
Well bless your heart
@@ToolReviewZone Well I thank you Clint. . .I got all my favorite content creators sixes covered! 😉

😂❤ you need to do reviews on anything and everything!!!
That song was a banger! 🤣🤣
How’d you get Brock Lesnar when he won money in the bank to cameo on your channel!!! lol. That looks pretty nasss like.
I think if they a Karaoke option it will be a real seller.
Why no AM????
🤷
Song was epic.
Haha , I call it the Vance Dance 🕺
I like to call them Royboy drives people crazy🎉🎉🎉🎉
I knew Vance was a secret raver.!!! 😂
No AM 570 WKBN ? Bummer 😢
No AM radio! How you suppose to listen to the ball game when your wife drags you to the beach on the weekend?
Radio? I thought that was the new Ryobi battery-powered cooler for keeping your beers ice cold! Where's the review for *THAT* product? Come on now....
I have a review for that. I love that cooler actually 😎
I would only buy if it had AM, FM & weather band.
No AM, no deal!
$199 is alot for her.
The inability to charge batteries, no A.M., mediocre sound quality, no rubber plug for the U.S.B. input/ C-port.
Looks like she should be a $99 special buy.
They need to make a radio cooler
Thanks for hte video. I'm NOt liking the fact that AM has been excluded when every radio on earth has it
I’ve never used AM in my life lol what y’all be listening to on AM
@@crimsontide9532 in toronto 680 news is big.
That is Bobcat Goldthwait! His earlier stuff was much funnier.
Thats not very nice like to not have AM ... I feel like they want to hurt my soul deep down inside like.
🤣🤣😪😪😪
I don’t get why people would even need something like that on a job. It completely screws up safety imo. Not being able to hear someone yell if they got shocked, cut themselves or something fell on them. That’s a big concern I’d have with any kind of radio or speaker in a work environment.
When we were kids we were little weetodds playing with Lego blocks, pretending g to build shit. Now we're big weetodds still playing with Lego blocks, still pretending to build shit. My IQ went down after 90 seconds of watching this. Then I clicked the back button.
Does it come with some cookies Clint?
Only Vegan John.... only vegan 😪
@@ToolReviewZone 😂😂
OMG it's reeeobi. Know your product
The only people that will be excited about this are people that are on the Ryobi Platform. And generally speaking, their cost conscious people.
What is ryobi link? it's a way to charge 10 times more for garbage plastic boxes.
3:11 - 3:29 😂
I know it, you know it, everyone knows it. Even VCG knows you're cooler than him.
o my
Correctly pronounced “Roe-bee”.
The USB port will allow any style cable to be attached. "C" or I-phone, etc. "Nice Like"
The 100 speakers could be used to do outdoor events. (Movies, UFC fight night) People can spread out and have the sound
right where they are seated. Great Video! Much appreciated. 😎👍
An actual c port is able to charge faster though.
Vance will do a video on it in two hours! LOL!!!!
I think Vance is still dancing 🕺 🤔 🤣🤣
@@ToolReviewZone LOL
That sucks about the speakers . 😅
$200 and no Type C charger? No wireless charger. Disappointing. Cool that it clips to your tool stack. But there are better speakers that double as battery banks with wireless charging and Type C for less than $200. At least it plugs in to the wall.
Edit: Actually there aren't that many rugged bluetooth + am/fm radios. Most are bluetooth only. But Milwaukee has a $180 bluetooth/am/fm with a Type C charger. 2952-20. But it's not packout compatible. There is a packout speaker for $300 with m18 or outlet power and it can actually charge m18 batteries. That's kinda neat. But still not something I'd buy.
need a peice of cardboard to pair w/this and do some break dancing!
I did a spinning head stand for 30 minutes straight, Unfortunately the camera over heated and I lost the footage Greg 😪
No AM = no sale. And I'll bet there's no wired analog input. And I'll bet the USB is charge only, no data.
🤣❤️🤣❤️🤣
Writing hut songs now I see lol
I must give the people what they want brother 😎🤣👊
just how high were you?
No AM radio = No buy for me.
Lame there's no AM Radio...can't listen to baseball.
If it says Ryobi I just keep walking. Their stuff is junk.
No AM ……no thanks. 😐
Ryobi link is a bust. Its way over priced as it very close to ridgid and dewalt systems in price and i see the radio they decided to keep the overpriced theme
Trash prices. I hate Ryobi now. This is not worth $200
U rovk
i would have settled for my ryobi drill bit set to drill straight holes and not just be crap drill bits glued into sloppy overlarge offset holes in the hex base....
it took me awhile to figure out why the bits would wobble until the glue holding a bit i was using failed & the bit actually fell out.....
thats when i took a hard look at all the bits.
absolute crap, just like my ryobi jigsaw....
ryobi is crap, never buy again....
Absolute rubbish, I never allowed music at work as my workers would be distracted..
lame bro
$200 for half a radio. Junk. No body want that. They need to add cassette, cd, both am and fm , bluetooth and micro sd mp3 player.
Ok, Boomer. No one uses cassettes or CDs anymore. 😂
Most people still has cassettes and cds.
It’s a job site work radio/speaker.
No major brand has ever made one with a cd or cassette player.
You forgot 8 track and ham radio , damn 😊
No vinyl = no buyer
Ryobi is not real nice like. Nobody wants that garbage!! C'mon Flint!!! 🤦🏽
Really thought you were going to like this one Chaka
But it's your favorite color!
Ryobi is trash.
Oversized box of plastic garbage in green. A small Bose would be far better.
I'd buy it if it was just a little larger. Not large enough. LOL I don't get it, why is it so effing big? You'd think you could at least store your lunch inside, or a 6 pack. No thanks. Nothing worse than listening to metal/hard rock music interspersed with inane commercials on the jobsite anyway. Leave that shite at home.
You know in order for a speaker to make good sound, especially a large subwoofer, it needs open space behind the speaker for air movement, right?
@@james2042Yes but who wants to carry such a big thing around? I mean it's a lunchbox/cooler size. I'm a Ryobi/Milwaukee guy but I'll never buy this.
@LazyCrazyGuy they sell a much smaller jobsite radio for 80 bucks. This thing has a real subwoofer in it, there's physics in play here if you want that sub to not sound like absolute shit
@@james2042 I know that I own the $80 one that I got for $40 on a Ryobi Day's deal. But that is easy to carry around and it sounds good enough. I understand the whole concept but again it's a silly idea period, as a worker you already have a ton of tools on the job site I'm looking to carry less and lighter not more and heavier. I think it's a silly idea and I'm sure the market will force Ryobi to stop selling it when it underperforms sales wise. I'm sure they will sell a few including to the reviewers like Clint but you won't see it otherwise or on job sites.
@LazyCrazyGuy almost like ryobi is a homeowners brand first and foremost, and milwaukees version is also very large, just it can be at the bottom of a packout stack vs this which has to be on top of a link stack. I see this on top of a link box full of beach gear or pool toys or sports equipment.
Man... I thought it was a battery powered cooler.. I got my hopes up... 🥲
