I want to say thank you for being so incredibly transparent whenever you collaborate with a company, thanks for all the details you provide in the description as well. This is how everyone should do it.
Particularly great editing on this one! I'm really impressed by the compilation of footage to tell the story of this engineering process, and for your careful blurring of proprietary info.
I just like your reviews and insights. Whether these are airline reviews (in my opinion the best out there) or inisght behind the scenes like this one. Thank you!
Ironically, even Recaro CL3710 will be a big upgrade for LH 748 economy with its current extremely outdated, anti-ergonomic and uncomfortable seats (maybe these are also Recaro, but unknown model?)
Cool mini-documentary on airplane seats :) most frequent flyers often use Recaro’s product. Also, happy kid memories dealing with the 707 Recaro seats. The video is detailed, informative, and very enjoyable
Thank you! That is absolutely interesting! I really admire the development of the seats and the intelligence behind the scenes! Always happy landing wishes Joerg
There are thousands of parts in an aeroplane, however the seat is the part that I have all my interaction with. My longest flight was 15 hours Sydney to Dallas so I am very intimate with aircraft seats & the comfort level are very important.
Great video! Definitely make me less complaining or feeling bad in the long haul economy next time! You just can not imagine how much works behind those works
Awesome! The CL3710 seats are in my opinion the best economy class seats ever designed, and I am happy to see all the engineering that went into production of the seat!
IMO CL3710 are the worst in industry in terms of comfort. I flew in a huge amount of Y seat models and my back is strongly against any Recaro. Any Safran or Collins is day and night compared to Recaro.
Thanks for this video, the funny thing is that since I started to watch your videos I started to pay attention to the brand of the seats and I find this video really informative. It is really interesting to see the whole business ecosystem just related to the plane seats.
It takes a particular skill to design seats that are both costly and uncomfortable at the same time. It almost feels as if companies like Recaro and other manufacturers are on a mission to make air travel more unpleasant than ever.
When will they make the seat cushions thicker? It seems that the seat cushions always feel flat and become uncomfortable after several hours. It’s fine for a 3 to 4 hour flight. But 6 hours or longer, my ass is so sore. 😅 I flew on Japan Airlines from Honolulu to Kansai on their B787 that has their “SkyWider” economy seats. The leg room is fantastic, the seat width is fantastic, the material is fantastic. The seat configuration on is a two four two configuration which make it easy for window passengers to get out vs the three three three layout. The only issue is the seat cushion. 6 hours in the flight my rear was hurting and I had 3 hours to go. 😩
You are also someone who would still be making this statement 1000 years from now. How do you think it would work in a war? You become part of the war machine or you are out of the picture or, in the worst case, you are imprisoned or killed. That's been the case in every war. And this comment shows that you belong to the eternally yesterday.... even 80 years after this war.
I wish airlines would make it easily accessible which seats they use where. Then I could actually take not of seat type X being more comfortable than seat type Y. This way, I only know what the seats that this airline uses on that type of aircraft are superior to another one, without knowing who made them.
Very nicely done video, did you notice how slim all the people were you talked to ? They fit, no matter how narrow, but for us, fat overweight North American slobs, most seats in economy are Torture. 9 abreast in an A 330 , or 10 in our Air Canada 777` myself being a "Large Petite" I know. Greetings from TVR
Wizz air is an extremely low cost airline and they always order the cheapest. They don't give a shit about comfort for their customers. You get what you pay for. As an airline with seat manufacturers and as a customer with the airlines. It's as simple as that.
Exactly the sort of extremely specific info I want from a channel like this
I want to say thank you for being so incredibly transparent whenever you collaborate with a company, thanks for all the details you provide in the description as well. This is how everyone should do it.
Videos like these make me appreciate and marvel on what a miracles of engineering modern airplanes are. Thank you for this insight
What an interesting video! Thank you for providing the insights to the aviation industry! 🤗🤗🤗
the nicest part about this, is to see Lufthansa getting proper screens finally :D yay!
I do love the engineering marvels for an aircraft seat.
As someone whose tushie spends a lot of time in airplane seats, this was fascinating! Thanks!
Fascinating alternative to your usual trip reviews
45 seconds in and this is already one of my all time favourite Simply Aviation videos.
Love it when you give the seats a mention in your videos, keep it up.
Particularly great editing on this one! I'm really impressed by the compilation of footage to tell the story of this engineering process, and for your careful blurring of proprietary info.
Hoping you make one for Collins Aerospace too.
THE INSANE ENGINEERING OF THE RECARO CL3710
Sadly enough, company Recaro - also famous for their sports- and ultracomfort carseats - filed for insolvency end of July 2024
I like seeing videos about aspects of air travel beyond trip reports! ✈️✅

This was great video, nice to see the other side of what we take for granted.
German manufacturing is always top notch
That’s awesome, great video David!😸
Those Lufthansa Allegris economy seats are for 747-8, A380, 777-9 and A350
Not sure if they will put it on the A380, but def the 777-9 and the 747-8 and also the A350!!!
@@MrBlueCreeper Oh forgot abut the A350

Well done
Cool, surprised that Recaro is German brand, knew this brand first from car seats. At least i know Indigo uses recaro seats for their a320s
Nicely done David!
A fantastic video, thanks for the effort in getting this done
Great video! Definitely make me less complaining or feeling bad in the long haul economy next time! You just can not imagine how much works behind those works
Great video, just perfect. Thank you for all the insights!,

I highly apologize as I am a German for the pronunciation. Nice video by the way :)
Very interesting

Excellent video! A fascinating look at Recaro and what goes into creating airline seats. Your video production quality is truly exceptional. Thanks!
Cool
Great video. First time i know about Recaro is from racing seat.
Nice video
Perfect job! Thanks. 😊 A few days ago I was thinking about Seat's Production and was curious about it. 😂😂😂
this reminds me of a video that talks about seat refurbishments and all the nasty things you can find when disassembling and cleaning those seats.

I did not expect Recaro to be the manufacturer of airplane seats, huh.
wow
Sehr interessant
Thank you very much now how do you do to sit in the window just tell me thank you
I wonder how they design for LCC seat
They should have left the livery on the 707 tail
Sebastian, cooler Typ, cooles Shirt ;) War das für das Video oder trägt man die sonst auch?
Cool factory visit.
But it would have been nice to learn a little more about the seats rather than just the company.
Dude really skipped history from 1909 to 60s 💀💀 I wonder why
Poland invited them to come over, lunch was served😂

If the garden chairs in the Austrian A320 are also from RECARO, then you have absolutely no reason to be proud of them. They are a horror.
👍

I like starlux
In Spanish Recaro means : very expensive.
I'd rather have a cushioned seat without screens and outlets like they used to offer than the ironing boards they offer today.
You promised that you were going to upload a trip report on Asiana's A380. When will the trip report on Asiana Airlines on the A380 be uploaded?
imagine walking into someone's living room and they have recaro premium economy seats
Most importantly, they must be highly fart resistant.
nothing will absorb or filter my highly toxic fumes. They should test for that in their lab.
Not just anyone can make an unsortable seat.
🇩🇪👍
Each IFE in Economy cost over 3,000$++ per each
For ten thousand dollars they should put more padding in them and make them a little bit bigger than what they currently are.

Still miss the nice foamy seats from years ago new seats now feel like there just thin cardboard and made out of cheap plastic

As a German I am surprised by how bad their English is, especially for a company in the aviation sector. Great video and insights though!
there's also not a single woman in the video
bro the first time i read mark hiller i read it as mark hitler i was like wait a minute hold up-
i set on recaro on wizz air a321 neo and it was so bad
