I think chaos hits are actually bigger that you might expect. I remember reading that 3.21 includes new map mods, and one was phys taken as extra chaos.
That is what I was thinking, it was harder already to ignore chaos damage but with new map mod it shows GGG wants to add more sources for chaos damage in general so being 0 or negative is no longer an option.
@AroAce If GGG want to go that route and make chaos more important, then I would hope they consider expanding the chaos res roll ranges to match the ranges of the 3 elements (T1 rolls as 46-48% resist)
@@nathanfay1988 With all of the sources of recoup and damage over time reduction, I don’t think it’ll be too bad. Of course, I only play CI builds anymore so I have to think about Chaos damage
You missed out on evasion/es mastery where you get 1% evasion rating per 5 int. Shapers touch has same ratio 2% evasion per 10 int. I will probably bring out int stack wander jugg to combine both masteries.
I think many of the "mark masteries" are great. Enemy cannot deal critical strike, cannot regenerate life. If paired with last rites, they cannot regenerate ES too. Great on Maven-witness bosses and Expedition i suppose.
the cannot regen imo is extremely useful another underated one imo is the sword mastery ennemies have 50% reduced block against sword attacks if you're doing expedition.
For the fire mastery... Combustion is already a great support link on fire skills anyway. It'll provide enough ignite chance on it's own to keep targets ignited for the damage buff.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean by this, but the inverted resistances mastery will have no impact on ignites. It only works for hits, and ignite is infliced based on the base damage of a hit, not the damage taken.

What I truly wonder though is whether this works the same like the "based on highest resistance" mechanics in the game. I'd say recoup is a generally undervalued stat but it obviously has great synergy with some builds that have self damage like Forbidden Rite or Boneshatter. I think most prefer proactive recovery like regeneration though, but I don't think it is a bad stat

isnt it a multiplicative inverse because you take damage input times res to get damage taken, so inverted would mean (x) -> (1/x) not (x) -> - (x)? so give monster 10% chaos res, 1/.10 = 10 = 1000% res? or monster has 50% res, 1/.5 = 2 = 200% res? if you can get the resistance to any negative amount though your damage skyrockets = 1/-0.1 = -10 = -1000% res. So you can assume maybe they mean 75% res becomes 25% res when activated?
I'm surprised to see that almost no one uses 100% increased armour/es from the body armour mastery. It's one of the best masteries if you don't need any unique that's not armour/es
There's actually several reasons why that mastery isn't used often: there's very few builds that use a full armour/es loadout, since using full armour gear will net you more armour even with the mastery factored in, or arm/eva gear gives you access to spell suppression. The other reason is that there's only 2 arm/es mastery wheels on the tree, and they also have 10% armour applied to chaos damage hits and 10% phys hits taken as chaos, which are arguably much more valuable masteries for most builds, if they are even speccing into those masteries at all.
