  • The 7 Best Moisturizers Under $15 for Mature Skin (#7 is My Favorite!)
What are the best affordable moisturizers for less than $15? We're about to find out!
I've collected feedback from the women in our community, looked through the latest scientific research, experimented on myself... and, now, I am ready to tell you what I think are the best budget moisturizers for mature skin.
Along the way, I will explain some of the terms that you may see advertised with moisturizers so that we are all on the same page. Then, I'll give you my recommendations.
Since this is my first "product review" video, I'd love to get your feedback.
Please tell me the kind of information that you would like me to provide. For example, do you care about:
    1) Reviews from customers?
    2) My opinion?
    3) Demonstration?
    4) Scientific studies?
    5) Something else? (please tell me in the comments!)
I've included a list of the products that I mentioned in today's show (with affiliate links) below. I'd also love to get your feedback on what you think are the best moisturizers for aging skin.

Cera vea was recommended by my dermatologist he could’ve recommended me an expensive cream, but he told me that this one was the best in the market in his opinion and he sold it there in his clinic. The doctor did say they were sold over the counter. I have enjoyed it👍🏼

Over 20 years ago, my dermatologist recommended the Olay product line, and that helped my dry skin better than the high priced department store brands I had been using. Still use Olay for most things. But I also use Aquaphor for dry, chapped lips. Best thing ever! I am interested in trying the L’Oréal product because I do not wear makeup every day and the pink hue of this product might provide a bit of natural radiance. Love the format, because it felt like a chat with a good friend about beauty product advice. Thank you!

Hello Margaret, I live in Sydney by the seaside, so this is a sunny place. My parents were Irish migrants, so I need to be so careful, so far so good no skin damage. I used Ulay SPF 50 for years now I use an Australian product called Natio with high SPF. It's a fantastic product for our climate. Of course a hat is mandatory as well as sunglasses. No sunbathing between 10am and 3pm. Anyway, love your channel and look forward to your broadcasts. Love your jewellery too. Best wishes from "down under"

What a lovely video! It's exactly what I was looking for tonight. I use a lot of Korean/Japanese products both for ingredients and affordability. However, shipping can take weeks and if I've been using up my backups without re-ordering... ahem. So I need to pick something up at the drugstore from time to time and this is one of those times. Voila! Here you are with good information on exactly what I want, sometimes I love the internet. You and I know what it used to be like B.I., Before Internet. I can vouch for the Neutrogena Boost and all the various forms of Cerave including the face wash. Great stuff. Aveno has never agreed with my skin, I don't know why, and I'd forgotten the Helen Mirren cream! I need to go get some of that.
So i's not necessarily price that drives my purchases and viewing, it's ingredients and effectiveness. Of course price matters, I hate to waste money on products that are just hiking up the price to ridiculous levels because they can but I'll spend money on good products. Moisturizers are a case in point. Remember years ago when Creme de la Mer was such a smash and everyone went bonkers over it at $200 a jar? Lovely stuff. I bought one jar as a treat, found it was very healing, nourishing and moisturizing and then never bought it again because of the crazy price. Well they investigated/tested it and found out it was actually the same as German Nivea (the formulation in the blue tin sold in Germany, other versions are slightly different) with the much ballyhooed "magic broth" they add being sea kelp bioferment, a fairly inexpensive ingredient. So now I buy sea kelp bioferment for about $6.00 an ounce and add it to my moisturizer. I really enjoy finding things like that.
And, sorry about the novella length post, I am learning as I age that my skin, hair and makeup needs are changing. I don't always know how to deal with it. Like my eyelids and eye shadows are not getting along as they used to, the texture of my skin is different and it affects how the makeup performs. I would love some videos dealing with that sort of thing.

Hi! I really enjoyed your video. Skin care is very important to me. I love using the CeraVe cream Because it’s so soothing to my skin. I apply it to my face, neck, and décolleté, morning and night. I have also used the Neutrogena hyaluronic gel cream also and like it too. One of my concerns right now is all the sun damage I have to my face. Lay in the sun they said -get a tan they said -it’s good for you they said 🤨. I would love to lighten the dark spots. Just don’t know what to buy. So many claims and it’s hard to know what’s true and worth the money. It’s so ironic that most of my life I wanted to be dark with a beautiful tan and now I just want to get rid of the darkness and have a brighter complexion. Thanks again.

Thank you for all you do! Seriously, your work, commitment and welcoming presence are so appreciated. I wanted to share some information that may be of benefit to those of use of a certain age who are concerned not only with the price point, but also with the potential damage we are doing when we apply creams/moisturizers that contain certain ingredients that have been proven to be less than healthy for our skin. This ingredient information originally came from my dermatologist who is very committed to equipping her patients with knowledge and current research to make informed choices in our diet and product usage. As I have very sensitive skin, and received a lasting and very visible scar on my chest that came from another dermatoligist who did not use a laser carefully, I lost the upper layer of the dermis. I was told to be very careful with what I put on my skin as I lost the upper dermis layer which provides the first and largest barrier to all of the environment's toxins (sun, cream, soap, shampoos, etc. ). She gave me a list of do not use ingredients that has been further publicized as the NEVER LIST of ingredients put out by BEAUTY COUNTER, a make-up and skin care line that promotes both beauty and healthy skin. Having the NEVER USE LIST handy when one shops is a helpful tool to make sure that the ingredients of any product are not cancer causing, harmful to the skin or the environment. It is unfortunate but a fact of life that the chemical names of products, while listed by law, do not necessarily say exactly what something is. My scarred skin reacts to everything, the ingredients, stress and the fibers of clothing (petrochemicals especially) that come in contact with it. This has affected not only my personal life, but my working life. It is my "canary in the mine" so to speak. I have great compassion for those who suffer, and often in silence, with skin conditions that are exacerbated by what they use on their person. I became very interested in finding products that were affordable and did not have the suspect ingredients listed (or listed under another name). Some of the products mentioned in the video, unfortunately, do have these compounds listed in their ingredients. While I know that companies will respond that those ingredients are "not harmful" or used in such minute amounts as to be negligible, it is important for us to know that the research does exist to offer a counter position as to their safety. Europe has been at the forefront of consumer safety in much of the food, drug, and consumer product oversight, while America, unfortunately, is not as vigilant in the oversight needed to make sure that the ingredients in our food, water and personal products are healthy for us to use and environmentally friendly. I offer this information to support your wonderful site and provide another avenue of information that will keep us healthy, strong, and committed to supporting each other as we move into our later years. Again, thank you, for all you do!!!!

I love your comment, because I agree, wholeheartedly, that the ingredients found in some of these products are cancer causing and harmful to the skin or the environment. Could you provide a lotion or other product that you personally use for your skin. Would you recommend coconut oil? I sometimes watch Bobby Parrish from FlavCity, and he, like you, is very knowledgeable about ingredients found in our food and skincare, detergents, etc. I would love to hear what you recommend using for a moisturizer. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I can't use CeraVe. My skin never absorbs it. It sits on top of my skin & is sticky. But my sister uses it & loves it. Eucerin works well for me, tho. I like Aveeno, too....I've been using their new line Calm & Restore Nourishing Oat.
But most recently, I bought both the day & night creams by Lacura. They're available on Amazon...but if you have an Aldi store near you, you can get both 1.7 oz. jars for $3.99 each. They have a lovely scent, very nice cream....feel so nice to put on my face! I really like them very much.
I'm so glad you do these reviews ! It's very helpful.....& it also helps for viewers to share their experiences. Thank you, ladies !

I think the amount is good, I liked how you spotlighted the main beneficial ingredients and the texture. Texture is important because thick creams are better occlusives for dry skin, but thin lotions and watery gel textures are better for oily skin, combination skin, people prone to acne and clogged pores, etc. Price is important too, sunscreen and moisturizer shouldn't break the bank. I care about the Allure Best of Beauty award, they seem to do a good job there. I have oily skin, and I quite like using the Hydroboost under my sunscreen, from the ones you mentioned.

Hi Margaret, love the product review - really, eally helpful. I use products by a company called Everybody. They are healthy and quite affordable. Their moisturizer is great for nighttime but a little too heavy for daytime. Some of the products your showed would be better, especially under makeup. I have noticed ads for Serums. What are they? Are they for everyday or once per week. Tip- I put moisturizer on damp skin, right after cleansing or a shower. It works much better and goes farther. I don’t really care about product reviews but it does help when you open the product and show its properties. Thanks again.

Hi Margaret, I’m really glad you made this video because I am always looking for affordable- but good- skin care products. I have spent over $15 for higher end brands that claim to moisturize, have ceramides and peptides and so on, only to find that my skin doesn’t feel as moisturized as I want it to be. I will say that Face Theory products are mid-range priced and I have been very pleased with the results. I don’t like to venture beyond mid-range in price, but if there is something below mid- range, and it’s got the “right stuff” in it, I’ll go for the lower priced one every time. Thanks for a wonderful video!!❤️

Hi Margaret. Thank you for sharing this video. I still use Noxzema for cleansing/moisturizing as I have for many years. I have experimented with Lubiderm and Oil of Olay, but I always come back to Noxzema.

Hello sixty and me. Awesome search. I use eucerin and aveeno moisturizer in the summer. Walgreen Pond and merle norman cold cream are my favorite for winter. I finished the tub of ceraVe and Nivea. Nivea is like Lamer. Rotate night cream between naturewell retinol, aveeno eczema balm and avon anew. I recently picked up oil of olay sculpting cream for day time. I have always used Loreal products and use it for day cream. Never heard of True skin but sounds interesting to try for the summer. You look beautiful by the way.

Hi Margaret would like to hear in a later video how you got on after using these products for a while and which ones you felt were the best. I know we all have different skin types but would be interesting to hear what you think of them. At present I am using Olay Complete lightweight day fluid sensitive SPF 15 and it seems to be suiting my sensitive dry skin but I love to try different products. I think I will give the L'Oreal age Perfect a try next 😀

Oil of Olay is a great product line, as well. I have mostly used the Ponds because, they happen to provide it in travel sizes sometimes that I have found in the travel size bins at the local stores, which really comes in handy when out and about. I know for myself, it is most important to know what are the best products out there in my very small and limited budget. There may be great products in the high end but, what good does it do to even know about those if you can never afford them, anyway? Right!?! Knowing what other REAL women who have used the products think about their performance is also very helpful. I do t know that we can really trust shows and magazine opinions because, I would think that they are too easily influenced and possibly often paid for their opinions... imho. Thank you so much for this video and doing things like this for us out here. I really did appreciate you going over what the ingredients do in them, as well. Even if we heard before, it is so easy to forget and get confused as to what does what, especially as we get older, LoL.

I am 67 with very dry skin. My top 3 affordable moisturizers that really work are: Alpha Renewal Body Lotion, La-Roche-Posay Lipikar Eczema Soothing Relief Cream and Coachella Naturals Hemp Seed Oil. I use all 3 on my face. The Alpha one has 12% Glycolic Acid which is the best but it stings a little. Not enough for me to not use it though. Also, the Alpha lotion is great for my all over dry skin on my body. They work! I also use Palmer Cleansing Oil for a face wash.

Good morning to all. Thank you for talking about a subject all us ladies love. Plus you are thinking about some of us that are on a very limited income. I first put cold water on my skin. I apply fresh aloe followed by a mixture of shea butter, coconut oil, essential oils and extra virgin olive oil herbal infusions. I know, I know you are saying "too much work". :0) But I am retired and enjoy making sure that I don't put chemicals on my skin. But if I was to buy something to apply to my skin, the True Skin seems to use quite a few natural ingredients.

What a nice necklace...multi-color makes it even more versatile . It can be worn w/ so many colors !
Creams...I choose by pretty much all of the guides you listed...I like a light, pretty fragrance...that adds to the enjoyment. Some products just sit on my skin & never soak in. Those get rejected. I love one I order thru HSN by Korres. Lovely fragrance, soaks in quickly, moisturizes exceptionally well.

My daughter's dematologist recommends using vitamin C, for aging skin. I got on Amazon and hunted for the best face cream with vitamin c and it came up with the true skin I ordered it and love that but I also love the L'Oreal age perfect renewal cell, especially if I don't want to wear makeup that day it kind of gives you a pinkish glow & it feels good on your face.

Cera Ve is my favorite. I saw a big difference in my skin after a few weeks of using it. I used both the body and the facial cream. It seems light but it is effective. Great video. Thank you for your videos, I’ve tried neutrogena hydro-boost and it’s good for the price. Right now and for the last 4 years I’ve been using LaRoche Posay and have to say am very satisfied with these products especially their 50+ SPF tinted sun screen (I live in Mexico and it’s sunny all year round) and their vitamin c/hyalluronic acid moisturizer. Eucerin is also one of my all time favorites and Oil of Olay has a new one that’s pretty good (I get it at Costco) it’s for the face but I like to use it on hands and body as well. Saludos de México 💚🤍❤️

Thanks for all you do for us women.....your Great.

I'm very sensitive to scents so I'm always searching for fragrance free products. It doesn't matter how well a product works-- if it has a scent, I can't use it.
