Next Video: How i spent 1 million on buying miniatures 🤣
haha
Truth.
I kinda feel like I may have made this video already ;)
@@miniwargaming Considering I think your 144,000 point army, if you have each model roughly placed about $7 (which seems completely fair if you factor in painting costs and/or cost of somebody else painting) I think you did that with your Chaos army alone! xD
@@daringdarius5686 that's why he was a retailer! So he could get them on a good sale LOLOLOLOL

YOU are the reason this is happening! Thank you everyone!
The Dwarfs, when will they be available then?
So we know the final date of them to be shipped and delivered
Don't make me buy more, stop please
What sold me on this project (I went for the unleashed bundle BTW.) was seeing many of my favorite UA-camrs getting awesome results painting the pre-release minis. Nicely done. I look forward to receiving the minis.
You also give me inspiration. I’m currently working on a video game, got my unreal blue print from the Unreal market place. The sky is not the limit. All I need now is time. Will definitely get going on my project though. Hopefully I will be following you and your company in it’s footsteps. Once again thank you and congratulations!😊
Absolutely amazing job, Dave & the rest of the team! I hope it all pays off in the end and all will be more than satisfied with both the products and the journey you guys undertook to make this entire thing happen!
Thank you for your encouragement and support!
Amazing video! Thanks for the wonderful Behind The Scenes :) It's a story worth telling
Thanks, Snurlgy! It's truly an honour to be a part of this project and community. Especially when it's enjoyed in the garden of Nurgle!!!
I hope these become available again someday or that you put the STLs up for sale when you move on to the inevitable version 2. I'd really like to buy the whole range, but finances just haven't lined up for me to buy an individual part. It's still cool to watch the process, though.
Second this. While I can afford the minis, I am living "out of country" now, and don't have the space in my tiny apartment for mini boxes.
Would love to print those when I get the chance to move to a bigger place
"I'm doing my part" (kid i star ship trooper propaganda commercial) ;) XD
Great video! always fun to see behind the scene. And all wrap up in a fun little story.
I just cant wait until the minis i ordered will a reeve.
Cheers for doing a outstanding job!
Great video! Well done to everyone involved, the miniatures look amazing!
Thank YOU! I'd love to collaborate sometime! Hit me up on IG :)
Love the miniatures and would love to pledge... There's only so much risk I am willing to take on this company however considering I have been waiting on Stormsunder for 3 years now. We will re-evaluate if they ever deliver on their pledges.
yes im the same with raise the black ive waited over 2 years now.
Very well done mate, looks like an amazing line of miniatures. I have been watching MWG content all the way back :D good to see you progress a lot from then.
Thank you, Nate! It's been a wild ride for sure!
These were awesome, congrats guys! Can’t wait to get more! Got to get my funds right.😊
I've watched you since a kid with the old narrative campaigns you go dave
Cant wait to get my minis, backed from day one and have loved sharing every step forward with the community.
That's so awesome to hear! Thank you so much! Truly!
Mate you're an inspiration for how you can chase and make your dreams 👏👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Have I won a competition?
Congratulations Dave! You and your partners in the project have earned this. A pretty amazing accomplishment and great miniatures here. I can't wait to see the rules, content and lore that are produced in the future.
You are living my dream. Love it, wish the best for the future of table top gaming.
And my dream is to live your dream. Does that mean we're both living the dream?
I still think about missing my chance to get that scifi range you guys did ages ago. Bought myself some warmachine and hordes stuff so had no funds but I did order it from your store. So theres that XD. I will not miss my chance to get these minis
hi
Hi!
0:32 Games Workshop & Free in the same frame??? Impossible
Wow hoo, I can’t wait until I get my new tanks!! Congratulations guys!
Thank you! There are many tanks to chew through! And more to come too.
I remember seeing your first crack at making metal miniatures, and I’m glad to see you’ve succeeded when trying again 😊
Yes indeed. Much has changed since then (like 12 years ago?) WOW, we're getting old, lol.
@@miniwargaming I realize that any time people comment that most of the tyranid line including the stuff from 5th edition is old, but it doesn’t seem that long ago 😂
Congrats =) I really cant wait to get these, and try it out!
I am so excited to get these beautiful minis and play this game! So excited to play this game that was clearly made with love and care!
Absolutely amazing, can’t wait for mine. When do we get rules for the game?
Alpha/Beta Rules are incoming later this year.
Honestly the line looks so cool and I’m sure those who want to proxy for games like 40K would be stoked to have these minis. Maybe they’ll be something of this line and quality of plastic to proxy for imperial armies in 40K like Custodes?
Regardless so happy for Dave and the whole team who look like they’ve put together something so cool
Thank you, Justin! Lots of fantastic things are on the horizon!
I can't wait for my veil-touched to get here! These look amazing
I’m so happy for you and so happy I got in early. I also can’t wait for the next phase! BRING IT! 😊
love to see you win man
This is really cool. Will this be retail available this year?
These look awesome. Unfortunately, I've blown through my hobby budget for the year already, so I can't back at this time. I'm looking forward to seeing if there is longevity in this system and if I can pick some of these up down the road. Congratulations on a successful campaign.
So excited for this!! Can't wait to play!
And I'm excited to see you play! Perhaps at the MWG Bunker with us!
@@miniwargaming I do need to make the pilgrimage across the Atlantic to MWG!
You are amazing!!!! 😃😃😃
Congrats buddy!
I ordered a bunch when the Kickstart started you should try a dry we have to assemble so we can do different poses
Can't wait for them to ship!
I'm so hype for these minis it's going to be worth the wait 😊
Still no sign on my minis. On your next campaign I will just wait till you start hyping up your next campaign and then maybe order from your late late late pledge manager
When will we be able to preview the rules for Ravaged Star? :)
I can’t wait to hold those minis my self
Just pledged! Will the rulebooks be coming with the minituares?
You'll receive unit cards (BETA) which you can then use to play the game. We'll provide a mechanism to submit playtesting feedback for anyone who wishes to contribute to the development of the rules. This is something that'll be available to all backers of the campaign. The community helped to design and produce the miniatures, and the community shall also have an equal chance to assist with the mechanics of the game itself. Thank you, Timur, for backing and supporting our project.
Awesome! Very excited.
What's the artist's name? Igor what? He's very talented. I want to look at more of his work :)
Cool minis but for a Loregamer like myself I really need to get into the universe so waiting to hear more about the background.
Indeed. I can completely relate. We're developing a comic book series which I plan on releasing via lore videos to expand the lexicon of Ravaged Star.
@@miniwargaming awesome! Given the notable inspiration behind the mini design I'm really interested in seeing a new storyline to inspire me. Bring. It. On.
Have a great weekend brother Dave!
And you as well brother! May the dice gods roll in your favour!
@@miniwargaming I'm away at a family funeral event. Laying in the hotel happy as can be because of this Video. Thank you from the heart Dave and team and all of miniwargamers for being awesome positive lights in my life. Dave I am that theirs still time to order these minis from the kick starter. I hope that I can one day get my own character models made for your game. I will happily work hard to raise the funds for this. And one Day when I'm fa e to face with Henry I will tell him how important it would be for him to play you in a epic narrative battle report. Cheers to you and the whole miniwargamer family after all these years from the humble beginning to this new life chapter. Skulls for the Skull Throne.
This video is an absolute masterpiece!! So pumped for all the Ravaged Star goodness
Thank you, my friend. I sooo look forward to our collaboration this spring. It's gonna me insanely awesome!
Funny enough, thanks to GW sales tactics some "piles of shame" may actually be called "investments" because of the continued price increases and OOP models.
Pretty sure an Tomb Kings Army a few complete units of original Ogre Maneaters could return a nice profit now.
And then there's Emperor Children's stuff. Saw someone on ebay selling Lucius the Eternal, Doom Rider, 3 x 10 Noise Marines, 3 x 10 (old) Chaos Space Marines and a Sonic Dreadnought, painted in Emperors Children colors for a final bid of 3601 EUR.
Wow these look awesome! What are the miniatures at 2:10 called? They sort of look like zerg and I love that aesthetic, would LOVE to buy them!
The race is called Gorkog.
@@miniwargaming Awesome! I look forward to buying and painting them in the future.
Where will you be shipping the minis from? I would love to make a late pledge, but I live in Scandinavia and my country has substantial import taxes on anything from outside the EU.
Is the web links supposed to be a white page with the info in the top left corner?
GG. Nurgle Bless
Please let us buy the STLs eventually! I don't want the pvc minis but would happily buy the stls as these models look fantastic
awesome
I miss hero scape
Strike now while the iron is hot. With GW heading towards becoming unaffordable for more and more people, this might be the right time to introduce a new competitor.
Anyone know when it's due to ship?
Cool!
Incredible video. So cool to get a glimpse into the behind the scenes of this process.
Thanks, brother! There's so much goodness and collaboration to be had in our community. BTW you look like Thor!
Where and when will we be able to buy this miniatures after the stock is depleted ?
We're doing another campaign later this year for the Game, NEW Veil-Touched minis, Gorkog, and Immari. We're waiting to fulfil the current campaign first.
I hope your IP moves into animation and live action.
Razorfist has great things to say about the "Iron Age" - creatives filling a void by doing exact opposite of Disney / Marvel - care about the fans. All hail the Fellowship. Friday Night Tights, hail.
still waiting on that world eaters report DAVE
BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!!! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!!! KHORNE CARES NOT FROM WHENCE THE BLOOD FLOWS... ONLY THAT IT DOES! Oh wait, apologies, you were saying something. I saw the word World Eaters, and it set off a trigger in my brain that activated something I've been told is The Butcher's Nails. Apparently, this makes it so there's no regard for danger, and the only thing that matters is the collection of skulls for Khorne's mighty throne.
@miniwargaming I wish I could afford this right now. This looks AMAZING, but alas I wont have my tax return till the 28th so fingers crossed there will be one last full set $499 left. If not will you be releasing any of the content in stl format to print ourselves?
Highly doubt they'll release stls for these.
No STLs for this campaign. That'll be a separate project coming later this year.
i am curious as to what legal loop holes you may or may not have had to do to please big brother cough GW cough
Really nothing. Suing someone over copyright and actually proving that is harder than you think
So does this mean you guys wont be selling the line going forward? Are all of these going to be one time releases? if so I would like to know so that way I can save up and buy them all next time. Bummed I wont at collecting the minis in the line in the future.
I'm sure they'd like to take this retail at some point, but right now it's FOMO central
There are many things we want to do and are planning for. At this point, we're at the precipice of something fantastic and engaging. We're focusing on wrapping up the Veil-Touched campaign and assigning the last batches of models ordered. After this, we'll have a better idea of specifics moving forward. Do we want to go retail? That's the dream. However, logistically crowdfunding platforms provide the most effective method for first-time miniature makers. We don't plan on going anywhere (we've been around for 15 years and going strong), and we'll approach this process in a methodical, practical way to best ensure the longevity of the range/game/project. That's a lot of words, haha. In short, we're focusing on one project at a time to not get overwhelmed by expanding too quickly. Accessibility of the miniatures will come in time and when it's natural and organic. Thank you for your enthusiasm and support.
@@miniwargaming Nah makes sense guys, take your time! I just love what you guys have done so much and Dave has been with me since I starred early on in the hobby. I know how much Dave loves this craft and only wish I had more money to support him. Him and Duncan are like Saints in this hobby to me and I would happily hand over the small amount of disposable income I have to support them. Thank you for the work you guys are doing. I just wish I could afford to buy the entire line.
I fully believe in Ravaged Star. You have my support, my hard earned Canadian dollars, and I am all in to the hilt. This is the future!
The future is HERE! The future is NOW! We are the future, and we're here to stay for the long haul. In some ways, I fell like this is just the beginning.
This has been an amazing ride and I cannot wait to get my models!!
Thanks, brother. I've taken note of your continued support. It's greatly appreciated and welcomed. You help to feed my nurglings. If/when you come to visit us at the MWG bunker, rounds on me!
@@miniwargaming Aw, that means a lot. And I really hope to one day!
Oh my god! I remember that terrain..
I miss the old days.
GW: NO, you cant produce higher quality minis, at a affordable price with actaul well thought out rules.
Nah man, how did you do it? Because Khorne wants it. Simple as.
I like your thinking.
You mean that's how much money means to you.
Experiences and emotions are much more valuable to me than money. Money buys opportunities for those things to happen more but by itself is a tool. Nothing more or less.

The voiceover pan is KILLING me DAVE. Super cool video but man hard to listen on headphones.
What are you hearing on your headphones?
@@miniwargaming I would say it's panned about 70% to the right, some still in the left ear but definitely not in the center channel. It's also pretty blown out volume-wise next to the rest of the audio.
This is coming in on a set of professional mixing headphones - Sennheiser HD600s.
Weird title for a 3d printing tutorial
That brings in the sponsers money… get people in a different hobby… 3d printing instead of wargaming 😂
I don 't like to be a downer but... Aren't these awfully similar to chaos space marines? Looking at the "veil touched" minis, they all look like more detailed versions of the GW line : you have chosen, posessed, obliterators, terminators, rhinos... They even have eight-pointed stars all over their armors and even the weapon design just screams 40k.
Don't get me wrong, those are mighty fine minis, but you had the opportunity to build something completely new and original here. Instead, you chose to make (sorry to say), CSM ripoffs.
Maybe it was intentional to boost sales so people can play them as 40k proxies if they chose to. That may be a good business strategy, but I still feel there's a missed opportunity to build something truly original here.
They all just made something based on an aesthetic that they like, they just like the aesthetic of CSM.
Hey, are you guys hiring 3D artists by any chance?
Not currently. But collaborations are commonly considered.
I miss the screw GW days
Would be consumer friendly if they sold the stl's on top of the minis. I feel they're slowly turning into GW.
They literally just started. Withholding stls isnt a dick move, its vital to their business
Miniwargamer Dave on his sigma male grind set arc..
I don't have any interest in the Sci Fi setting, but expand to fantasy minis and you can respectfully "shut up and take my money"
Lazysquire games did a previous campaign with fantasy minis, if you're interested. Dave wasnt involved with that one

You gotta get physical models into the hands of your customers instead of just your chosen "influencer" types or the hype will die faster than it rose up
They’re coming! You make an interesting point though. I’ve thought about what’s going to happen once the minis hit the public domain. That’ll be the next step and evolution of this project and a day I greatly look forward to.
Been watching your guys' journey since 2009. Congrats, you deserve every single penny
Man, those first 10 seconds.... Those were my favorite things in childhood too. I never connected the dots to my warhammer addiction
...Tzeentch always connects the dots...
I'm unfortunately old enough to remember Dark Potential, a skirmish game you guys started up many years ago. Would there be any chance of it making a comeback considering the success of this campaign? I always found it really interesting and a little more unique than this stuff (not that this stuff isn't cool)
Funny you should leave this comment. If you've noticed Matthew is not in as many videos as of late, there might be a relevant reason why :) I will say no more for now.

That title...
On one hand I am very happy for your success. On the other hand, it's a bit distasteful to flaunt how much money you made off the people who invested in your idea. The video itself was about the creative process behind your project and was really good, so why would you use a title indicating how much money you made? For the views? I don't know. But anyway, a genuine congratulations for the success of this endeavor. GW has such a chokehold on the miniature hobby that making proxy models that could be used in 40k, while also making rules for an independent system, was a great move.
The whole point of talking about the $1.1m is that it represents the confidence and support the community has behind this project.
The title is click bait, but in a good way as it is accurate. The $1m is not profit, but investment. He's laying out the plans moving forward and being transparent.
