  • After an extended month-long stay in Italy catching everything from trout in streams, pike in lakes, grouper off the rocks, and bluefin tuna offshore (check out the videos!), my family and I drove to the French Riviera in Cote d'Azure to a small town called Villefranche-sur-mer right next to the main city of Nice. I had been here once before but didn't think of it as being a big fishing destination. In any case, seeing that I brought my rod this time I thought I would throw out a line to see if I could get a bite. Sure enough, I was able to catch three new species (barracuda, dentex, and some mystery fish) in just under two hours while fishing off the rocks! Not bad for a sea that apparently is overfished!

Thank you for clarifying. I found that out a few weeks later and also learned that they're very poinsonous. 😑Good thing I didn't get zinged holding it!

@@bwbouncer5397 Sure, In most of my videos overseas I'm using a Toadfish Outfitters 7'2" MH Travel Rod (toadfish.com/products/travel-spinning-rods). Took it around the world and caught everything from 2-3lb rainbow and brown trout in the alps to 12lb Kahawai in New Zealand and it worked great.

Lizard fish arent poisonous. You're thinking about spiderfish, aka scapegoat, scorpionfish or pout. Its scientific name is Trachinus Draco.
