this is such a fine piece of art, the music, the background noises and the beautiful clips of your grandmother…you are incredible!! could i please ask how you put these background sounds into your video?
Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words, it truly means a lot to me that you noticed all those little details 😊 To answer your question about the background sounds, here’s how I approached it: 1. VOICEOVER The main audio is a recording of my grandma that I captured on my iPhone. 2. MUSIC I used Above the Barley Fields by Helmut Schenker from Epidemic Sound. Finding the right song took the longest since I wanted it to fit the atmosphere perfectly. 3. SOUND EFFECTS (SOUND DESIGN) I layered a series of sound effects from Epidemic Sound to create a nostalgic, memory-like atmosphere. Here are some of the sounds I used: -Baby laugh -Water drips -Wind chimes -Rain downpour -Carnival kids -Film projector -Heartbeat -Camera shutter (and many more) Some sounds were inspired by visuals in the video (water and 16mm filming), but many were added purely to enhance the emotional atmosphere. 4. EDITING I used the desktop version of CapCut to edit this video. It’s free and super user-friendly if you’re just starting out! I started by aligning my grandma’s voiceover with the visuals, then added the music, and finally layered in the sound effects. I had about 10 audio tracks in total and adjusted the volumes to create a balanced soundscape. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions, always happy to share. Have a wonderful day! 😊
