@jamesdeer3129 FACTS! as a deaf person, its NOT hard to let others know. If they say it is, they are acting like weak karens. "One of the hardest problems we face" Nah. the hardest problem we face is not being able to hear someone running up behind you before they rob you..
People are not obligated to engage with strangers. And even if someone is not deaf, or blind, maybe they're thinking of their own challenges or goals and don't want to engage with anybody. If you really must barge in on a person's "me time," offer a smile and if they make eye contact and smile back, you've broken the ice.
To be honest, it’s still smart to verbally let them know this, like saying “I’m not in the mood for conversation”. People aren’t mind readers and aren’t always aware of nonverbal social cues. It takes two seconds to communicate this. Afterwards, you can ignore them all you want because they now definitely know. It’s more productive to actually use your words.

Well you shouldn't read the comments first, because this is stuff your likely gonna see and you should of watched the short film first, that is the fault you made so you spoilt it for yourself.
+Crystal Allen *you are or *you're "Your is the second person possessive adjective, used to describe something as belonging to you. Your is always followed by a noun or gerund. You’re is the contraction of "you are" and is often followed by the present participle "
Haus, I don't know if you're a troll or what... but have you heard of tinnitus? It's a ringing noise in the ear which may make it hard for a person to hear.
It’s a very good video. People judge so fast and forget to be present in the real situation. People give up quickly on their own desires, let's be more patient.
People are sometimes critical about their own drawing and change something so often that it can take a while until their done with even just the neck. Trust me, i know, i am an artist.
Well, you had the advantage of knowing that it was a short film, that must have some meaning. In real life it's a little harder, because tbh I've had a bunch of situations with people not replying in my life where I knew they were perfectly capable of hearing
@@n.jun_1071 hmm true Most ppl dont really believe in God. I respect their beliefs though, I personally believe in God and appreciate taht you highlight the fact that We mustn't use the name of God for cussing
This one hit home for me. I'm severely hearing impaired, and have been told by different people that "so and so thought you were ignoring them or being rude, and I told them she-can't-hear-you".
She did not acknowledge his presence and his attempts to communicate, but she left a note that she is deaf. Being deaf is not an excuse for ignoring someone. If he was, White, she would have made eye contact, (peripheral vision).
It's nice to see this film with such a wide range of emotions in a short time. I found it refreshing in many ways. It doesn't have to be real. It is hopeful.
My son is deaf and it has happened to him a few times when people think he's being ignorant on purpose or is outright rude for not answering. I love him so much. xXx
In a lot of small towns people can still leave things unguarded but it's not an issue of "values" these days. It's a matter of the likelihood that the thief could be seen by a mutual acquaintance of the owner. Either that, or the owner, not having far to go in a small town, will likely return sooner than in a big city.
The short film dose depict real life communication problems . Myself having had hearing loss for half a century know well how it feels to be only part ( less than half ) of a two way conversation . If a person has a noticeable handicap other people will make allowances , even be helpful sometimes ? But deafness is seldom noticed at first glance , so the reactions of people can at be harsh . So thank you for making and sharing your film .
Yes, this goes for several other condition too, such at autism. Here is a real example, in my second or third year at uni, I joined staff in interviewing students, whom had applied to study there, we read their application form which included a statement from them and also a statement from one of their current tutors, which the perspective student had not seen. Although this was about 20 yrs ago, I clearly remember one tutor in their statement stating that this female student didn't pay attention n didn't listen. She stated that she wanted to be in the front row at lectures, because she was partially deaf, I think also asked if she could make a audio recording of lectures. Her current tutor who had written the statement clearly didn't have a clue, n the tutors with me agreed with that.
No I watched the whole thing, just have a hard time believing he was actually running because every time he returns there is no sweat stains on his shirt.
***** nah m8 he went running twice I was talking about the first time. 0:10 shes drawing. 0:45 guy sets off. 1:05 he gets back and it shows her drawing again and its the same picture and shes made no progress.
as an artist i can say drawing isnt as easy as it looks sometimes u gotta restart or scrap ur idea or erase mistakes she may not have made progress to you but maybe she had a certain idea in mind drawing take patience and a steady hand not every artist can make a masterpeice in 30 minutes we all have our own pace
there is a neat trick in "folding" your headphones so they dont tangle as much.... (sorry for bad english its not my native) -> if you "wrap" (fold....) them from earplug side towards the "jack" (part that goes in your mp3-4, phone, etc) they tend to tangle less than usual, at least that is my expirience. i hold earplugs with my thumb and wrap the rest around my fingers gently, later you just check that "jack" part is not pulled trough any loop, hold it between fingers and drop the rest to unfold, 8 out of 10 times not tangled.....
Attitude problem? This is coming from a male who never had to fend off an over "enthusiastic" guy all the while fearing for their safety? This "attitude problem" you refer too in the result of males demanding attention from "pretty young girls" and getting pissed off when they don't get it. This film illustrates just the problem. He thinks she ahs an "attitude problem" and gets a bit verbally abusive about it. So many the point of the film is just the opposite of what everyone here thinks it is. Maybe this young lady has had males be verbally or even physically abusive to her when she didn't respond the way he wanted her to. Wouldn't you have an "attitude problem" if you were afraid of some random guy making nice and it turning ugly? Again, don't judge too quickly
Fair point, but she can't just generalise every single guy, the least she could've done was nodded (If she wasn't deaf) and then left it at that. Being ignored is horrible, especially when all you've done is compliment someone on something they've done.
I know! me too! I was like....Hmm she is ignoring him. Not that rude. But as soon as he said "That's a really pretty drawing you got there" and she didn't respond I was just like Yup. she's deaf.
I'm an interpreter sign language. See this all the time :'( And personally I stand up every single time for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Sometimes people judge me too. They are angry because I tell them the person is deaf or the deaf people judging me by various reasons. Luckily most of the people (deaf and hearing) are very happy with me, my translations and my reaching out to make the world a happy respectful place for any-, and everybody !
The other day an elderly woman walked past my house carrying several bags. I had just come back from somewhere, and as I got out of my car, I called to her, "Do you need a ride?" She didn't acknowledge me. Rather than go after her and possibly scare her, I just let it go, and assumed she was either hard of hearing or didn't trust strangers. Don't assume someone always hears you, and if you know they did, understand that they are not obligated to respond to you, and let it go.
in reality though, wouldn't she have, at some point, casually glanced up at him. Just to know her surroundings if nothing else. And, then, noticed his lips moving and maybe communicated something.
This happened to me a couple years ago at the library. I am Caucasian and the woman next to me finally got my attention. As I could lip read, and adjust aid, we were able to communicate. She thought I was ignoring her because of race. We straightened it out. I think she will be more mindful about why someone may not respond now. Ditto for scooter or bike riders on sidewalk. They think because they are saying something like "Excuse me" loudly that you can understand it. It just blends in with all the traffic noise. reminded me to keep to the right on the sidewalk always to minimize injury.
Hey person 🙃, so here’s the deal,God loves you and wants you to experience peace and life- abundant and eternal. But we choose to disobey God and go our own willful and sinful way. This results in separation from God.But Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave. He paid the penalty for our sin and bridged the gap between God and people. You must trust Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and receive Him by personal invitation to receive that free gift and eternal life, think about this, have a blessed day 💙.
@@ifechimacaroni2297 I don't believe that god or gods exist. Where is your proof that they do? Let's start with THAT bit first, and we'll worry about the rest of your post after your mention of 'God'.
She "Thought" because of race? Your saying this because I assume She told you? Depending on your face expression was nice or irritable, She read into it too much. Otherwise. She is the one with the problem. If your white, black, yellow or polka-dot and I don't say "Hello" (Which is rare for me not to) My thoughts are probably somewhere else, or if their face is glued on their phone, I will wait until they put their phone away then acknowledge their presence.

A lot of people think I'm a snob cuz I don't say hi first or give eye contact. I have anxiety and I'm just super shy.

Yeah, I get "invisible disability." I have mental health issues and no one knows what I'm going through and if tell them then suddenly they think I'm somehow dangerous.

Well you shouldn't read the comments first, because this is stuff your likely gonna see and you should of watched the short film first, that is the fault you made so you spoilt it for yourself.
The turning point? I saw it miles away..

Ohh.. Now i get it.. The 5 or so girls who rejected me today must have been deaf right? Yeah that explains everything.. :-p
Tell me about it. Someday, I'm going to meet a girl who can hear.

HausDerToten No i'm not lying hard of hearing is different from deaf but still the same things happen
+Carly Bram Do you know sign?
Haus, I don't know if you're a troll or what... but have you heard of tinnitus? It's a ringing noise in the ear which may make it hard for a person to hear.
Dude same
It’s a very good video. People judge so fast and forget to be present in the real situation. People give up quickly on their own desires, let's be more patient.
The guy : finished his jogging exercise
The girl : still drawing neck
Yep, I noticed that too :) But then, suddenly after his short speech, the whole picture was ready :) It’s magic :)
People are sometimes critical about their own drawing and change something so often that it can take a while until their done with even just the neck. Trust me, i know, i am an artist.
Yaol Silver exactllyyyy as a real artist u need to take time wit every little piece lol once it took me 2 hours on an eye of s person
Thank you I thought I was going insane
Hey hey hey dont judge, it takes me like 1 hour to finish a hand. Drawing is hard shit.

Well, you had the advantage of knowing that it was a short film, that must have some meaning. In real life it's a little harder, because tbh I've had a bunch of situations with people not replying in my life where I knew they were perfectly capable of hearing
Same here. Time Vision, don't be too quick to assume everyone will make false judgments.

She did not acknowledge his presence and his attempts to communicate, but she left a note that she is deaf. Being deaf is not an excuse for ignoring someone. If he was, White, she would have made eye contact, (peripheral vision).

It's probably due to your grammar.
I kind of figured she might be deaf because she had absolutely no reaction at all when he started talking to her. Very well done film.

I was being sarcastic and your grammar is horrible.
In which country can people leave their rucksack on a bench and go jogging without any fear?
Probably Japan. They leave their bikes unlocked and lockers open sometimes. Its a very polite country and no one steals anything... Usually...
In a lot of small towns people can still leave things unguarded but it's not an issue of "values" these days. It's a matter of the likelihood that the thief could be seen by a mutual acquaintance of the owner. Either that, or the owner, not having far to go in a small town, will likely return sooner than in a big city.
Scandinavia
I would've left it, too. The ony danger would be that somebody could find it and bring it to the lost and found...

Her current tutor who had written the statement clearly didn't have a clue, n the tutors with me agreed with that.

sometimes u gotta restart or scrap ur idea
or erase mistakes
she may not have made progress to you but maybe she had a certain idea in mind
drawing take patience and a steady hand
not every artist can make a masterpeice in 30 minutes
we all have our own pace
good eats No. Its clearly thoughtless movie making.
Why aren't his earphones tangled?!?!
Lucky😂😂😂
Yeah,lmaooo
😂😂
there is a neat trick in "folding" your headphones so they dont tangle as much....
+Neven Lycan
It works, and for your English, you did very well.
+Sanjana Singh , thanx

I guessed what the point was because I have a brother who is extremely hard of hearing.
In the world today, it's hard to know who's deaf and who's got attitude problem... I think the guy was fare enough to consider so.
no.
Some people just want to be left alone.
Fair point, but she can't just generalise every single guy, the least she could've done was nodded (If she wasn't deaf) and then left it at that. Being ignored is horrible, especially when all you've done is compliment someone on something they've done.
soslothful That is hard and painful to believe. Even the most introverted one's wanna impresse someone and talk to rare, special soul mates.
I knew from the beginning when he said he liked her drawing that she was deaf
i i was there i would've just ignored her too after that compliment and not bitch about how im not a creep and jist liked her drawing
Same
Yea, so did I. Her body language was positive not negative.
Yep.
I know! me too! I was like....Hmm she is ignoring him. Not that rude. But as soon as he said "That's a really pretty drawing you got there" and she didn't respond I was just like Yup. she's deaf.

And personally I stand up every single time for people who are deaf or hard of hearing. Sometimes people judge me too. They are angry because I tell them the person is deaf or the deaf people judging me by various reasons. Luckily most of the people (deaf and hearing) are very happy with me, my translations and my reaching out to make the world a happy respectful place for any-, and everybody !
I'm of hearing but thank you for your big heart
Thank you.
Thank you to make people realise that deaf girls are powerful
archana dhar death boys can be powerful too just trying to be fair to all people. Not trying to make things difficult.
This!
Why did he leave his bag xD like she could of ran off with it
in reality though, wouldn't she have, at some point, casually glanced up at him.
