How’s it going lately?
Hey! I'm doing well, thank you so much for asking. How are you?
the heart attack of seeing pointe shoes brough out at 4mo and then reading your disclaimer lol - but I actually kind of like that idea as like a motivation tool - so many of us are working towards those pointe shoes. Your journey is amazing and isnpiring
Yes exactly it helped me to look up to something! Thank you so much, wishing you all the best on your ballet journey 😊
That reminds me of the toe stance tho.
Wait you got pointe after 3months!?!? DID I READ THAT RIGHT!? Update: I did not wait till the disclaimer, I got excited lol
hahaha no I was just too curious to know the feeling ☺️
First off, not only are you beginning ballet as an adult which is not easy, but you're attempting fouettés! Amazing. It's the perseverance for me! You will get there!
Thank you so much! It's been a challenging but rewarding journey. I truly appreciate your kind words and hope you have a great week 😊
I love how excited you are! I can't wait until I get mineee 😊
Ah thank you! You're gonna love it! 😊
I’m 13 how old were you when you stated
hi! I was 24, turning 25 :)
In your bio it says you started in your 20s can I ask what age exactly if you don’t mind. I turned 20 this year and I’m thinking about starting😊❤
Ah congrats on starting!! I was 24, about to turn 25 😊❤
You shouldn’t be trying those skills yet stick to slightly easier and you will be able to perfect them and build up strength to the ones your currently trying
I'm 16 and I started contemporary and ballet last month, I know it's a bit late but your video encouraged me. Thank you so much, you've improved a lot❤
Aw thank you! Be proud of yourself for starting, that's a huge accomplishment and remember that you’re right on time. I’m cheering for you! ❤️

I’m 13 and I still feel to old to be doing ballet at the level I’m at :(…I’m in classes with girls 8-12 and I’m so much taller then they are. They’re always staring at me cause I joined late and I’m not friends with anyone cause I don’t rlly know them. But I try rlly hard and I js landed my first couple double turns and I’ve been trying to stretch daily…but today we did a holiday show and my mom said she got it under control but she didn’t and we ended up missing it. I feel horrible. It’s not like we’re company or anything. I’m in ballet 2 which ik for my age I shouldn’t be in but hey what can I say? I just kinda suck lol. And I want to quit to badly. I missed the show and I’m scared to go to practice next week as we prepare for recital and I feel horrible and I feel like this is some stupid sign telling me to quit dance bc I’m not good at it and I’m js not enough…
Hey there 💛 First of all, I just want to say how incredibly brave you are for sharing this, it takes so much courage to open up about how you’re feeling and you articulate it so well. I completely understand why you’re feeling this way. Starting something new, especially ballet, can feel intimidating (especially when you’re in a class with younger girls.) But let me tell you this: you are not alone in this experience. Every dancer, no matter their level or age, has felt self-conscious or out of place at some point. What matters most is the effort you’re putting in. Landing your first couple of double turns? That’s a huge accomplishment! It shows how hard you’re working, and honestly, that’s something to celebrate. Stretching daily and showing up to class despite feeling unsure proves how much dedication you have and that’s more important than any level or age group. About missing the holiday show, please don’t be too hard on yourself or your mom. Things happen, and it doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Your worth as a dancer isn’t defined by one missed performance or one class. What makes a dancer truly great is the love for the art and the willingness to keep going even when it’s hard. Feeling like you want to quit is totally normal when things feel overwhelming. But before you make any decisions, ask yourself why you started ballet in the first place. If ballet brings you even a tiny bit of joy, I hope you’ll hold onto that feeling. You don’t have to be perfect; you just have to keep showing up. Plus, you ARE enough. You don’t have to be the best or the most advanced. Ballet is a journey, not a race. Give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. You’ve already proven how strong and determined you are. Going back to class next week might feel scary, but I promise you, those moments when we push through fear are the ones that make us grow the most. You’ve got this, and I’m rooting for you every step of the way. 💛
Your smile!!!! I just started ballet at the age of 33! I LOVE THIS FOR US!!! ❤
ahhh thank you!!! YES it's the absolute best! Congratulations ❤❤❤
When i was a kid,i did ballet for almost 6 years until i quit! obviously i wasn’t on pointe because my foot bones haven’t really strengthened, but i only quit bc i wanted to be cool like my sister and quit to.Im SO mad that i did that but im starting soon again! looking up to you 💕
Aw I know how you feel. Honestly, so many of us have these regrets, but I promise you that these feelings will subside. It's all part of the process. The important part of that you're going back to doing what you love and the fact that you have 6 years of ballet under your belt will help you so much! Wishing you the best as you start again! 💕
amazing, motivational, hardworking girl. you are so inspiring. God loves you!
Thank you
You were already flexible before starting? I'm kinda insecure about that when I get to go to classes.
I totally understand how you feel, as I felt the same, but I assure you that you don't need to worry about that! I was flexible in highschool, but I wasn't super flexible when I started ballet. The beginner classes truly didn't require flexibility (as you're learning the basics). I promise the flexibility will come and it's nothing to worry about!
Good job still good
This is beautiful, very inspiring
thank you! :)
I'm staring my first ballet class next week can't wait. I'm 27 btw. I've always loved it as a kid then life happens and I wanted to pick it back up again.
I know how you feel 1000%. Congratulations on starting again, I hope you're first class went well 😊
You are amazing!! Wow. If you don’t mind me asking, did you have any previous other dance experience before starting ballet? As your progress was so fast
Thank you so so much! I did 1 year of tap when I was 11 and cheerleading in highschool, but that's it! Thank you for being so kind 😊
Pushing 60 here, (late fifties,) and I feel the same way. :) Beautiful flexible foot!!
ah! that's amazing, I truly believe the love of dance will stay with us forever. Thank you for your kind comment ! :)
Did you have any dance background beforehand? So beautiful!
ahh thank you! I did cheerleading in highschool and tap for a year when I was eleven, but no ballet ❤
Omgggg girly your arches are to die for ❤❤
thank youuu girly pop, you're so kind ❤❤
❤
Eating hard-core slay
Need a friend who wants to start Ballett with me 😔 I want to do ballet (I’m 14) but am so scared to do it alone
I know how you feel, because I felt the same, but I've truly made incredible friends in ballet! Who knows maybe you will meet your future best friend in ballet class! And maybe once you start you will inspire some of your friends to join you! I know it's scary, but follow you're heart and you won't regret it! 😊
@ thank you!! I actually just singed up for classes I’m so excited!!
@@MorganReynolds-m4d ahh congrats!!!
@@dearballet I finished my first class!! I love it so much 🤗🤗
congrats, thats a HUGE accomplishment 🤍
I love it!! If you want any tips on spotting or anything, let me know!!!!!
please by all means!! thank you for your time and help 😊
Your video's inspire me so much, i seriously adore your content and i hope you keep going!
your positive energy is contagious, thank you so much!! 🥹😊
your channel me inspires me so much. I was cursed with skin conditions and many other issues which caused walking problems, my ankles are also weak and i’ve always been told even from my own parents it’s too late or I’m just simply too tall. I’ve always wanted to do ballet. I’ve only just started taking ballet seriously now but I know I can do it, even if people pull me down. If you have any tips, please tell me! I would appreciate it. ❤
Thank you for sharing your story with me. The fact that you followed your heart despite the challenges says so much about your character and who you are as a person. My only advice is keep going because you're doing great. You are such a role model, and I send you so much light! You're on the right path ❤
Can u do ballet even if you are over weight?
Yes of course!! 😊
Im 14 and im restarted ballet. I was so excited but i was also very VERY nervous bc i thought i wasnt going to be good enough and i overthinked a lot. Now im one week in and i dont regret my decision at all im enjoying it so much
So happy you kept going, congratulations, I hope it's going well 🥹😊
Absolutely love it❤
hi hi - i’m just now starting at 26 and really need these vids, please keep making them!!
aww congrats!! thank you for your support, I really appreciate it!!
I am starting!!!
aww congrats!!!!!
I started ballet at 10 but quit a year later. Now I'm 23, I want to start again. But I'm scared, during adolescence I did a lot of things like stretching my ears, piercings, tattoos so I'm not sure if I should start. I don't know what others will think about my body
Hi, thank you so much for sharing your journey. It’s amazing that you want to get back into ballet! I totally understand the fear, but honestly, I see people with tattoos, piercings, etc, in ballet classes all the time and never once thought anything negative. Those things truly don’t mean anything and I know it’s hard but we should all be proud of our past. I can feel in your message how much you care about ballet and that’s all that matters. And truly, we are all struggling with our own insecurities and I’m sure you will have a positive experience. We all get doubts and insecurities, but I promise you it’s worth it on the other side. And I actually believe you have the chance to inspire others by being true to yourself, and I’m sure you’ll rediscover the joy that made you start in the first place. You got this!
@@dearballet Thank you so much☺️ Your words are really inspiring and make me want to try even more, with all my insecurities and worries
@@maruyaay aw thank you! I meant every word. Rooting for you! ☺️
Something I needed to hear ❤ Thank you
thank you Elizabeth, big hug!! xx
How old were you when you started?
24 going on 25 :)
I'm starting ballet at 16, and this has given me so much inspiration and encouragement. We could never afford dance classes when I was younger, so I never had the chance to start. But now that I can pay for them myself, I wanted to give it a try. I was really discouraged because most people start ballet at a young age. Thank you for this! <3
Thank you so much for sharing your story! I can really relate to your journey, as my family also faced challenges growing up. It’s truly inspiring to hear that you’ve managed to start ballet classes on your own and follow your passion. You already have so much drive and determination and that's already something to be proud of. Plus, even while you’re at work, let yourself dream about those ballet classes-you’ve earned this chance, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way. Thanks again for the support and for letting me be a part of your journey <3
had to dislike because of the toxic grindset mentally audio
does anyone have tips for spotting/doing doubles and triples
This was powerful. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m so happy it resonated with you.🥹
I started ballet when I was in grade 7, now I am in grade 9 and whenever I look at the younger girls who are in the same level as me I get discouraged and feel bad for myself because I keep on looking back on the years I missed of doing ballet but now I realize the improvement I had made on only doing it for 2 years. I went from having zero flexibility, excluding my back bends, to having my left and right leg split and left leg hold. My turnout and arches have improvement tremendously. I am so proud of myself for the work I had made, I even managed to be invited to my dance studios competition team. This video was inspiring to me and to others to continue working hard.
This brought tears to my eyes! I was applauding you while watching. This just proves that it's never too late to start doing something new and working on your dreams. Beautiful! Thank you for sharing your journey.
Congrats!! Do you have any tips on la seconde pirouettes for beginners? I’ve wanted to learn then for ages :)
i started around the same time, september 2021. i was 15 and i am still going to this day and i cannot believe how far i have come. it is never too late!!!!!
