“I am not a doctor. I’m just a guy on the internet.” This is coming from the guy who does more research in one day to think for himself than most doctors do in an entire year that just regurgitate what they were programmed to say in medical schools funded by drug companies. Keep up the amazing work Thomas. You’ve made an incredible difference in the quality of life for my wife and me. We’ve both lost about 10 and 20 pounds, respectively, in the last couple months. Both of us have stopped experiencing GI issues and my wife stopped having joint and gut inflammation. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Just because someone is a doctor doesn't mean they have any clue what they're talking about. As you said, most of them just regurgitate what they were taught in medical school. That is not to say that there aren't some good doctors out there but they are rare.

Doctors are most of the time. Academically induced hubris. In comparison to the doctors I know, I know more about how it works just from reading studies and watching youtube videos. Jason Fung, Eric Berg, Sten Ekberg, David Asprey, David Sinclair - Put it together and you're already there.

Lets not forget that some doctors spend years in school and thats more than most people will ever accomplish in their life, at the end of the day most docs wanna help its not entirely their fault that the educational system is flawed.

Struggled sleeping (waking up in the middle of the night) doing IF and keto. Turned out to be a blood sugar spike as my liver was reacting to low blood sugar. Drinking ACV 30 minutes before bed cured this. You can aslo try a handful of nuts (almonds/pistachios) as well. Good luck.

My psychotherapy teacher told us about an experiment that had been conducted many years ago say around 40 plus years, where they studied a group of random people when they slept but woke them up whenever they started REM (Rapid Eye Movement ) indicating the person was in a "dream" state. They continued interrupting the dream state of the participants every night but after a week or two of this they all started having psychotic episodes, mental break downs, hallucinations and all sorts of psychiatric malidies. They deduced that the REM or Dream state was a vital function for the normal healthy function of the human psyche, although they could not explain the phenomenon clearly.

Hm yes could be since I quit keto I've been sleeping normally kind of. Well you should ask why keto messes up sleep, that sounds pretty wrong, given how important sleep is. The obvious answer is high iron, which causes adrenal fatigue which causes insomnia.

      @Rene-uz3eb 2 роки тому

@@starbreath76 it's not really keto but imo keto is just a bunch of best practices anyway. Like meat is an extremely nutrient dense food, but also very high in iron. The ketones angle hasn't convinced me. I believe that if you don't get more carbs per meal that can be temporarily be stored in your muscles you won't have blood sugar issues. Easy to measure. More important not to eat junk, avoid veggie oils and sugar drinks.
I eat lots of fullfat milk and cheese, disregarding the few carbs this adds. Especially since milk blocks iron and is almost keto. Pure whey for protein and that is keto. Salad drenched in olive oil, carrots, keto. Potatoes and sweet potatoes. It wasn't called the potato famine for nothing. For fillers I'm having fruit (guava, grapes, bananas) with hit exercise which reduces insulin dramatically. I'll add back nuts first after I get a bit lower in iron (avoid with vitamin C at same time as that absorbs iron a lot more).

STOP PRESS: DEFRAGGING? That is what you do with hard drives, spinning rust. Most modern computers come equipped with solid state discs (SSD's). You do not defrag those. It does not improve their performance (since no spinning means direct access) and defragging actually shortens the lifespan of SSD's. Windows is smart enough to not schedule defragging for SSD's but you never know with people on the interwebz.

Im trying to lose weight while gaining or at least maintaining muscle. Should i keep doing this? Ive been doing this daily for like 2-3 weeks or so.

I had a similar experience then I started adding in sodium and potassium, which isn’t as fidgety as it sounds.
Very quickly I had more energy and strength in the gym because I could retain more water in my muscles.
You retain less water on keto, so you piss away those minerals (magnesium too) leaving you feeling weaker.
He’s got a good video about how those two minerals work in tandem if you want the importance explained further, but I digress.
A quick easy way to get potassium is “lo salt” (you’ve probably seen it in the supermarket) and for sodium have some Himalayan salt.

I can’t remember having a hard time on keto and fasting. On cheat days though and on the second day of a 3 day fast is only I have a little bit of hard time sleeping. On carb refeed days though even eating healthy carbs that because of the bloat I have discomfort when sleeping or trying to sleep. Since I clconverted to high fat carnivore though sleep compared to keto is much easier to get into and much more comfortable. I think the 12 years I went vegetarian before turning to keto has made me sensitive to oxalates because I get the signs of oxalate sensitivity even on clean carbs during my carb refeed days on keto.😳

It's the process of cooling the body down that's important. Taking a hot shower your body would need to cool down after to get back to normal. The study he referenced just used an ice pack instead of a shower. Honestly I'd try both. Warming your body up and then cooling it quickly.

My sleep is all broken up since being carnivore 3 months. I believe we are omnivores and those of us whose intestines have been damaged by the SAD diet have to become carnivore from the damage. GMO’s and everything else are damaging us. I hate eating keto/carnivore. It feels like jail.

You take it about 90 minutes before bedtime. After your shower your body is heated up and then rapidly lose body heat as your body cools down, and this change in temp is what triggers a better sleep.

can and will disrupt different aspects of our well-being, I.e. the “Keto”.

i dont think this is really the cause Thomas.. i think there is something bad with keto diet in general here... when i look at ur old videos for example this one.. ua-cam.com/video/uYp0yvZmYqM/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ThomasDeLauer
i can see that u looked much healthier around the eyes etc so it cant be genetics that makes u look bad around the eyes now... ? and better looking in the face and body in general.
i cant see many people doing keto and building muscle or looking healthy and mostly getting white hair and tired eyes looks tired which is strange and considering how much good quality food u have access too well that is making it more strange that u look worse not better the longer u are doing keto.
i hope u dont take this in bad way or personal i still love u and ur amazing videos but i cant ignore the obvious here.
