Packers fan here. Definitely don't like the Vikings but I can't understand for the life of me why Cousins is hated so much when he puts up the numbers he does. There are quarterbacks who have been far less successful who get way more credit. Cousins is a very solid QB. Trust me though, as a Rodgers fan I know what it's like for a QB to shoulder 100% of the blame when a team comes up short.

The Vikings are not a bad team. The only reason they did not win more games last season was because Zimmer was holding Kirk Back and not letting him do what he is good at. By any measure, Cousins had an elite season. That’s just a fact. It certainly didn’t add up to the results we wanted, but you simply cannot put that on him. He is definitely a flawed QB, but he really had almost nothing to do with the games we lost. This is coming from someone who was very skeptical about him before this season. Mostly because of the money they paid him, and the inability to win big games. This season changed that for me. Unless you can get something just ridiculous for him in a trade I would absolutely 100% extend him another 3 years. However he needs to be willing to take a pay cut for the extension. If they can get him for $25-30 million a year, I’d absolutely go for it. I’d also strongly consider trading Dalvin Cook, and becoming more of a passing team.

When Kirk has time, he almost always makes a perfect throw. Hopefully the new OL coach can develop our younger guys and keep Kirk clean back there. Can't wait to see how the team looks this year. It's all positive vibes for me but not real high expectations. It could be an incredible year, it could be a year plagued with growing pains, or we might be plain bad. Yet this year I won't really care if we don't do great. As long as we don't regress, and improve where we need to, like time management and all-around aggressive mentality, I'll be happy. We were way too passive last season, and it hurt us in a lot of those close games when we should've already been winning by 20+. No more letting teams back in games, I'm sick of this team getting comfortable with a lead. I want to see this new Coaching Staff demonstrate the ability to be aggressive and keep the foot on the gas even when we have a big lead. No lead is safe and that's a lesson we learned again and again last year. It seems anyone, fan, player, or coach of this team could never forget some of the historic comebacks this franchise has let happen and yet, year after year, the team lets opponents back in the game because we start coasting. Please, no more. It feels good to humiliate another team, that should be the goal every week. Make these fuckers ask themselves why they even showed up to play with us.

I’m extremely grateful for having Kirk on the Vikings. He’s kept this team respectable for 4 years. Watching 30+ TDs and 4000+ yards nearly every year has been really awesome. Hopefully they get him a head coach who has his back and an offensive line that can give him good protection 🙏

The Vikings lost a ridiculous 1043 total yards throughout the season because of penalties on the offense, defense, and special teams, for 61.35 yards per game. Obviously the three-and-out average is going to be high when you have plays being negated by penalties so often. On third down, Cousins had the fourth-most passing yards of any QB this season, third-most passing TDs, and among starters, again ranked 10th in yards per third down attempt, per The Football Database. That doesn’t seem like a QB that struggled to move the ball. Also, on third down pass attempts with 4-7 yards to gain, he was once again top-10 in yards, yards per attempt, first downs, touchdowns, and he set the pace in 20+ yard gains with 6. He has consistently carried trash ass Vikings teams with a bad coach stuck in his glory days of the past with a depleted roster with a bad defense, bad o-line, injured weapons, and a bad special team. This team probably deserved to win up to 4 games this year, but Cousins carried their trash ass several times when it mattered most. Vikings fans are desperate that getting rid of him will save their trash organization, but it won't. He also is statistically one of the best prime time performers in the league. Nearly everything Cousins detractors say is entirely wrong objectively. He is a top 7 QB and has been a top 10 QB since he's started in the NFL.

Zimmer has also not adapted as well as the o-line falling apart. The team is terrible, and I don't care that the team as a whole does badly against good team, but Cousins has performed at a high level most of the times under terrible circumstances and carried this team. It's honestly a joke that you bring in team record to the table because that just shows how trash the Vikings have been in spite of great Kirk Cousins' performances.

I’m extremely grateful for having Kirk on the Vikings. He’s kept this team respectable for 4 years. Watching 30+ TDs and 4000+ yards nearly every year has been really awesome.

Easy player to hate but ticky tack plays go through Vikings way and this is a 12-5 team if not better. Were consistently in games with the top teams and would’ve bested a team in the super bowl (bengals) if the refs didn’t call the worst fumble call of the year. That would be the VIKINGS. He’s not the only member on the team. FYI….the high number of three- and-outs was due to the offense being called for the most holding penalties of any unit in the NFL. The Vikings lost a ridiculous 1043 total yards throughout the season because of penalties on the offense, defense, and special teams, for 61.35 yards per game. Obviously the three-and-out average is going to be high when you have plays being negated by penalties so often.
On third down, Cousins had the fourth-most passing yards of any QB this season, third-most passing TDs, and among starters, again ranked 10th in yards per third down attempt, per The Football Database. That doesn’t seem like a QB that struggled to move the ball. Also, on third down pass attempts with 4-7 yards to gain, he was once again top-10 in yards, yards per attempt, first downs, touchdowns, and he set the pace in 20+ yard gains with 6. That was a fluke season, they never should’ve had 13 wins with case Keenum and Jerick McKinnon as one of their feature backs.
