How do I transfer stuff from internal storage to SD card?
From a Home screen, navigate: Apps - My Files. ...
Select an option (e.g., Images, Audio, etc.).
Tap the Menu icon (located in the upper-right).
Tap Select then select (check) the desired file(s).
Tap the Menu icon.
Tap Move.
Tap SD card.
Navigate to the preferred folder then select MOVE HERE (located in the upper-right).
My father passed a month ago tomorrow and USB transfer of his pictures wasn't working. I was worried I couldn't get all of that goodness to save forever until this video, thank you, you are a life saver!

Please to those who are struggling like how I was struggling.
Go to my files as the video is instructing
Select some images you won't feel hurt if you lose.
Select them. You will see move, copy, details etc
Select copy( copy here won't appear clear to click on). When you select copy, nothing will show for you to move the files to. DON'T UNSELECT
Use the back key. It will take you back to my files where you will see internal storage, sd card etc. The copy here sign will still be showing underneath where you tapped it
Let's assume you want to copy them to sd card. Select it and copy them there. The "copy here" indicator here becomes visible to click on. Create the folder you want to copy the things to
Open the folder and tap on copy here. That's how it's done

it's different for me I don't even have eternal storage and I can only select it and share there's no copy
Thank you so much, Tima Ephel 🙏 It worked! I struggled with copy/move as the " copy/move here" on mine was greyed out and didn't realize you have to go "back" to get to the destination folder.

I agree. But my phone is corrupted and those steps which nornally work are blocked at the end - not allowing me to transfer to.my sd card. 😢 This is so disruptive for me!

Thank you, it worked. It's different with my Oukitel WP5 Pro phone running Adroid 10 but basically the same. The folder to find is called Google, under this folder are several Google apps, the one of interest is called "Files", rather than "My Files".

Thanks for this!! Im doing this with my samsung tablet and all works exactly until after I tap "copy", stupid tablet offers no options. Just a pop-up with either "cancel" or a grayed out "copy here" that is non-tapable. I have my USB plugged in as that is what I need it copied onto. (Can't transfer wirelessly right now -long story). Any thoughts?? TIA!

Ok so you click and hold down... select all... and at the bottom of your screen it will say (move) (copy) then you get out and go to sd and click (move here)

On Android 7,8 is easy no problem now I got an update 2 days ago Android 9 and it's not the save way to move to SD card.. ty for trying
Well I had already updated to the new android. A safe way to do it is to copy them, like the video said. For me simply moving them was the easiest way. It was easy. Not sure why it didn't work for you. You might need to update, or your SD card might be corrupted, or damaged.

Hi!!! Thanks for the video. After moving the audio file (my own voice recordings) to SD card, how do you play it? There is no audio player that plays it once it it moved to the SD card. No audio player is popping up.
You may transfer files to a PC via SD card adapter and use any of a lot of audio file format converters available to make them playable wherever you want. That would fix any playback issues. Good luck & Stay Safe.
Sir i tried it but when i goto crear folder and write test there . Creat folder failed written of screen and i cant creat folder what shud i do ? I wanna tranfer my files from internal storage to SD card

Question... you may want to edit the video because if the internal storage is full just copying the file and moving it to the sd card is pointless. Just fyi.

I mounted it and formatted it. but My biggest problem is making my sd card the default storage. I can't manage to do so. On the Samsung A20 I can't manage to find the storage only care device and although it says storage, what it does once you click on it, it does a storage analysis. 456 mb in a mmc i havent seen that since my nokia 6600 which had 128mb i always wanted to update to the godly 512mb variant. Ooh how times have changed sitting here with 128gb internal and 256gb external which are almost full.

I have same function which you showed in the video except I have all options in the bottom and another option which show like 3dots on the right side of corner it contains like move to secure folder ,edit, share and recycle bin and setting too . I tried a lot but nothing got in my hand

First you have to go in My files than if u want to tranfer pictures than click in the picture icon and select the pics and In the right upper side of the corner there is a option click there and create a folder than must click doneee dont create more foldersss got itt
I have vidoes broken down in folders is possibly to download it by each folder
After coping my picture to as card do we have to delete them

I've tried this but when I select items from any of the categories, the only option shown is Delete & "Options" if I select three dots at far upper right as you instruct. I don't know how to fix that and want to copy items in internal memory/categories to the sd card as a backup. Any additional advice is appreciated.
Somewhat similar with me but I only have the option of "Delete" & the 3 dots in upper Right offer: Edit / Share / Settings.
If I click on Edit, then select a file(s), the only option next to Delete is "Details".
No Copy/ move option.
If I click on "Share" = only offers to share with nearby device
If I click on Settings = No Actual options to Copy / Move.

lauriia copying will not reduce but moving will do. Instead of the copy click on move.

Cannot copy or move files from internal storage to the phone or anywhere other than internal drive. The options go dimmed & won't work. It's a Samsung A70. Can you help. All files download (like emailed files) to internal storage where they are absolutely useless, no apps or procedures can access them. What can I do??
I have consistently been getting the message on 9+ "destination folder is the same as source folder". I have been following directions exactly, but when I click Edit, then choose the files, then choose copy or move, the screen with the destination places doesn't come up, leaving me with no options. I only see "move here" which is the same destination as the place I am trying to move files from.
Is something damaged here?
try creating a folder in folder (file) then try moving it. it might be you are trying to move it to same folder?

In my samsung j2 i move/copy my video files from internal storage to SD card but it's still there in the storage and eating space. How do i have it in SD but not in internal storage?
Once "Copied" to SD Card, then Delete it from Internal Device Storage
If "Moved" to SD Card, it should then be gone from Intetnal Device Storage.

Add them to your sd card then remove sd card from your phone and then finally delete them from your phone to be safe.

Yes you can. Select the file like you did when you copied or moved select, option then delete.
My doesn't say that anymore... it says move to secure file
How to move apps but a working solution, cause most youtube videos dont have a working solution, also i have a folder with 5347 files in my internal storage - gallery which are photos, and they are exported photos from inshot app, and im trying to move them with this method but on the sizee and how many items on "My Files" it says zero, so i cannot really move it to my sd card

once we copy the video to SD card then does the video in the video in the image folder get automatically deleted or should we manually delete it.

normally i would just pass this and think you were explaining for noobs. But i have a problem since the pie update i cannot copy anything to sd card even if i do the progress bar finishes and the file is 0b. If you try to use the file it's not really there. God forbid i moved instead of copy because then my original is gone to. But since you made the folder withing files before copying it did something with the permissions and the copy worked. So i want to thank you for this. But i have a question in case you did this step for that reason. I don't want to create a new folder every time i want to move a file to the sd card. Is there a way around this. I don't need 1000 different folders because every day i copied a few songs to my sd card and why create a folder just to move the file and then have to delete it. it seems stupid. I know this is probably not what you were getting at so if you don't know what im talking about its cool but if you do hit me back.
you can create one folder and move them all to there. remember if you move them without making a folder they all will be mixed there will be no organisation. you can move them without making a folder yes you can.
