I do actually think(and hope since my favorite type is ghost) that it will turn out as Fire/Ghost, because I see it leaning towards a more skeletal design, because anyone who says fire/dragon or fire/fairy isn’t looking into the white head of Fuecoco, and the name inspiration of FueCOCO and the movie COCO(ok a bit of a stretch but still)

@@smb-c3po i mean if the zodiac animals theory is correct cyndaquil is still based on an echidna and not a rat so i th8nk that they could do a croc instead of snake
This just reminds me of when I saw some people complain that Rillaboom and Cinderace were humanoid, as if Rillaboom is any more human shaped than an IRL gorilla and as if Cinderace was any more humanoid than Bugs Bunny himself.
I feel they’ll want to keep the starter trio balanced against one another rather than reversing their advantages, so I feel grass/fairy, fire/steel, and water/fighting fits a lot better like how they determined dual typings for gen 6, gen 7, and the hisui trio. They’re all relatively unique typings and do not clash with their original types which is usually what they aim for.
I could see Grass/Ice given how commonly people associate Sabertooth tigers with the ice age. Fuecoco could totally be Fire/Fairy, though part of me can also see Fire/Rock for a number of reasons. Quaxly could certainly gain Fighting or even Flying since... Ya know.... It's a bird. But regardless of what their types are, we all know that many people will be both overjoyed and disappointed and be unable to come to an agreement on which ones are actually good or not.
I feel like grass + dark is better and if u want me to explain no cus I can't find a reason to explain other than it fits Edit: okay just rembered it was cus people portray cats as "evil" and cus sabertooh tigers to me feel like a dark type
I reallllllyyyyyy think fuecoco is gonna be ghost/ fire type since it’s based off a ghost pepper plus it has a skull on its face I feel like it is pretty obvious.
I think Fuecoco fits more with a less known, brazilian folkloric creature, the "Boitatá", which is a giant burning snake with multiple eyes across it's body. It is said that anyone that looks directly at it will go insane. Based on this, i think Fuecoco may be more likely to be a Fire/Ghost type in it's final evolution.
I definitely see Quaxly as Water/Fighting with a sailor theme. Other types people have been thinking about have been Water/Flying, Water/Steel, or Water/Dark. Water/Flying is too obvious and Rowlet ended up as a Ghost type so it's probably not that likely, I doubt GameFreak would want to have both Water type bird starters be part Steel, especially right after BDSP, and then I don't think people would want two Water/Dark starters in a row after Hisuian Samurott. Also, here's what I want the stats for each starter final evo to be Sprigatito (would be a fast special/mixed attacker) HP: 75 Attack: 95 Defense: 65 Sp.Atk: 105 Sp.Def: 80 Speed: 120 Total: 535 Fuecoco (bulky physical attacker) HP: 100 Attack: 125 Defense: 105 Sp.Atk: 70 Sp.Def: 80 Speed: 55 Total: 535 Quaxly (decently fast physical attacker) HP: 80 Attack: 120 Defense: 80 Sp.Atk: 80 Sp.Def: 75 Speed: 100 Total: 535
Quaxly could be Water/Steel just so we could have a bird starter with that typing that's actually good. I mean, when you have an abject failure like Empoleon wouldn't you want to try and make up for it.
@@DeathLeprecon ...Isn't Empoleon both casually and competitively viable as well as having an extensive fanbase when it comes to art design? Weird way to define abject failure. ...I mean, unless you're judging it solely on how many people prefer Piplup over its final evolution, but I'm pretty sure that speaks more to the extent of Piplup popularity over a lack of Empoleon popularity. It's like saying Emboar and Infernape were making up for the abject failure of Blaziken, and they finally stopped when they got it right with Emboar. Just to be clear, that is the opposite of the actual consensus, I was giving an exaggerated comparative example of how outlandish the argument against Empoleon was based on actual facts when looking at the statistics.
The fact that one of the two predicted types for Sprigatito was correct is one thing, but the fact that the bipedal design looks REMOTELY SIMILAR TO MEOWSCARADA is mindblowing
If Fuecoco DOES become a fire dragon, sprigatito would be interesting as a grass fairy. I've always had an idea of reverse typing triangles for the starters. Such as how Incineroar (fire/dark) has two type advantages against regular Decidueye, but is evenly matched against Hisuian Decidueye or Chestnaught (both grass/fighting)
I actually really like the secondary types you chose. It creates a type triangle in the opposite direction of their primary types, which is an interesting dynamic
I love Bromojumbo's Cuelebre/Quetzalcoatl design, and Feathered Serpents are a popular theory for Fuecoco, but as somebody who does writeups/helps history channels on Mesoamerica, the symbolism doesn't make too much sense. Mesoamerican Feathered Serpent deities have a lot of associations that could tie into different typing's, but not fire: To the Aztec, Quetzalcoatl was primarily a deity of learning and high culture, tied to song, poetry, priesthood, etc; acting as a wise ruler/who taught humankind various things; as well as to the wind in his Ehecatl aspect. Wind and the arts actually tie into each other: speech and song are depicted in Aztec art as spiral wind gusts from the mouth, hence also his signature spiral conch shell pendant, conches also producing both sound and wind, and the spiral shape tying into the iconic mesoamerican step fret motif, the coiling body of snakes, etc. It's also perhaps worth noting that the word for ruler in Nahuatl, Tlatoani, means "one who speaks", tying the rulership association Quetzalcoatl had to speech, wind, etc (though I think that's incidential, as Feathered Serpent ties to rulership long predates the Nahuas) More broadly in other Mesoamerican cultures, Feathered Serpents represented rulership/high priesthood, the dualism and boundaries of the heavens and earth, what with them having the traits of both birds that fly in the sky and snakes that slither on the ground: Early Feathered Serpent precursors such as seen in Olmec art tie into the iconography of sky--bands, which represent those boundaries and are often placed in separating thresholds in architecture, such as doorways; and Quetzalcoatl in myths often transgresses both from the heavens to the earth (such as the Toltec ruler Ce Acatl Topiltzin) and to the underworld (such as when he retrieved the mythical bones from the underworld to revive/create humanity). Quetzalcoatl to the Aztec and as mentioned in legends about the Toltec also ties into the Morning Star venus. The Teotihuacano feathered serpent also has water associations, with the Temple dedicated to the diety having aquatic reliefs featuring sea shells and in addition to a feathered serpent sculptural facade, a facade of sculptures of what's identified either as crocodiles or Teotihuacan's version of the goggled/fanged Rain God. This temple was also aligned with a canalized river, so it seemed like the river erupted forth from it (with the shimmering scales of a snake likened to the surface of water, and the flowing curves of a river to a snake's body), and the plaza in front of it even being able to be ritualistically flooded like the Roman Colosseum. (Notice also here how shells, the curving snake/river shape, etc tie into the Conches and spiral fret motifs I mentioned earlier such as with the Aztec's learning-wind Quetzalcoatl: If you google "A STUDY OF MESOAMERICAN RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM" there's a infograph showing how all those visual motifs tie into each other) So there's a lot of typings you could assign a Feathered Serpent pokemon that would tie into these: Dragon, Psychic, Flying, Fairy, Water, etc... but fire? Not so much. The thing is, though, there IS a snake associated with fire in Mesoamerican mythology! Xiuhcoatl in Aztec culture (some assert its precursor is the Teotihuacano war serpent) is a mythical rattlesnake often accompanying the sun in Aztec art, and the war god Huitzilopochtli (the Fire god Xiuhtecuhtli too in some depictions) wields the Xiuhcoatl as a weapon (interpreted as a abstraction of a sun ray, or as a zoomorphized atlatl, a sort of dart throwing projectile weapon) to defeat his sister, Coyoxququi, and their brothers the Centzon Huitznauhtin; the myth usually being interpreted as an allegory for the sun's rise over the moon and stars (though some dispute that). Xiuhcoatl itself is often adorned with star/stellar iconography, and Karl Taube argues that then "Xiuh", beyond meaning turquoise and fire, means meteor, with the darts Xiuhcoatl fires as an atlatl being meteors or comets. Alternatively, some sources liken Xiuhcoatl's darts to lightning bolts: Xiuhcoatl is also associated with the dry winter season, there bush fires can occur via lightning strikes. Taube also notes "Xiuh" can mean herb, and the pointed rattle on the end of it's tail resembles Aztec depictions of flowers or grasses/reeds, too (this design also resembles the glyph for "year" (allegedly sun rays too) and Xiuhcoatl is too associated with time, as are solar cycles, fire drills and ritual hearths etc) .There's even some iconographic links tying Xiuhcoatl to butterflies and especially caterpillars, with some arguing it was one as much as/alternatively to a snake! Now, I don't think Fuecoco is going to turn into Xiuhcoatl either, but it'd make more sense than Quetzalcoatl, fire is undoubtedly the primary association Xiuhcoatl has, with electric (lightning) psychic, fairy (stars/cosmos/comets) grass (the dry winter grasses, the tail) and even bug being other potential types there.
Damn bro I’m Mexican and I didn’t know a bunch of those things, it was fun reading that! Also, although I would really like a starter to represent Quetzalcoatl, I too doubt Fuecoco would be connected to em since Quetzal isn’t associated with fire at all... but you know Game Freak, Pokemon sometimes take wild paths when evolving, Xiuhcoatl is at least a bit more possible and would be cool as well (staying a crocodile would be nice too though)
This is a great read but Europe also has winged serpents. In fact many of the earliest depictions of ‘dragons’ are simply winged serpents. One such winged Serpent was the Cuélebre of Spain which was referenced in the video.
@@dandereninja4750 Actually, Mesoamerican feathered serpents usually aren't winged, they usually just have feathered instead of scales and a tasseled tail, sometimes a mane of featheres around the neck. I can only think of 1 or 2 depictions with actual wings.
@@dandereninja4750 He also said in some replies on twitter he worked in some feathered serpent too. Also I was mostly just replying to you saying "Europe also has winged serpents", because mesoamerican feathered serpents weren't wingded.
In my opinion Fuecoco might evolve into a Fire-Ghost type. Due to its pepper body and that white mask it has on its head I can see a possible connection to Fiesta De Los Muertos in Mexico and Ghost peppers that are imported from Mexico to Spain (I think).
I really do hope Fuecoco is the snake representative when it fully evolves would be fun to see a Pokémon with a massive change in evolution like Remoraid I can easily see it turning into a kind of Quetzalcoatl with a chilli pepper vine body
I think that fuecoco should stay a crocodile because game freak can still do the zodiac thing but have their creative libertys. By the way, a male crocodile is called a bull and a female is called a cow
@@yinyang4451 considering the region is based on Spain they had a chance to make a fire cow for a starter so Fuecoco is no doubt our snake as I and many others do believe it will evolve into a Quetzalcoatl or like Prag said the Cuelebre
I'd rather have something like a spinosaurus with a sail made of flames, then do such a drastic change just to say, "see the fan theory still lives on!" Because...its just a fan theory for fun, it isn't fact in anyway. It's full of so many holes that the water starter theory is all but abandoned to most fans since Feraligatr and Swampert don't use weaponry and trying to stretch the tailfins into battle fans when it doesn't use its tail for any attacks (beyond Iron Tail, a TM) and those arm pads on Feraligatr are on the arms and not brass knuckles. Plus, the creator of Bulbasaur said it's a frog not a dinosaur so the grass theory is equally dead. I love these theories but fans need to let them go when they fall apart. The stretching people do to make Fennekin fit isnt far off from, "Oh, the new fire starter is a giraffe?...looks like we got our Ox!" Not trying to hate, but there is this weird "absolute" about this theory to some fans that just...puts me off it.
many people say that Fuecoco becomes a fire/ghost type for 3 big reasons 1 - the skull shaped markings on his head 2 - the ghost pepper 3 - the Spanish boogeyman, called the Coco or Coca (wich is usually depicted with a crocodile head) also even if Fuecoco stays a 4 legged croc, it could still be part of the zodiac theory by technicality, as a male croc is known as a bull and a female croc is know as a cow (aka the ox of the chinese zodiac)
I mean, the bull thing is such a stretch just to fit a theory. Like male whales and rhinos are called bulls. Cant the theory just be edited to say, "Many of the fire starters share animal basis with the Chinese zodiac", and us just admit a fox isnt a dog and a crocodile isnt a snake? Like the theory, but these weird stretches just kills it entirely for me.
Here’s my theory: Fuecoco will turn out as Fire/Ghost because I see it leaning towards a more skeletal design, because anyone who says fire/dragon or fire/fairy isn’t looking into the white head of Fuecoco, and the name inspiration of FueCOCO and the movie COCO(ok a bit of a stretch but still) and also ghost peppers lol
I'm really liking the pirate theme water starter, and for the grass steel typing, I would think more of a sabertooth tiger with steel fangs. And I've seen a lot on fire ghost for a ghost pepper but I don't know of they'd do two consecutive fire ghost types since typhlosion became ghost type in legends arceus
I hope fuecoco doesn't become a zodiac animal. There are only 4 left, so they'd eventually have to ditch that theme anyway. So why not just do it early. It would mean that we could get more interesting fire starters as well. Also, with fuecocos shape, I kind of want it to become like meatlug from httyd
I think it’s just a Bull crocodile. I think they are just being creative since 3 of the remaining 4 are hoofed 4 legged mammals, so they don’t want it to get stale
@@limeyell0w945 because the first 4 generations were based off japan I think it would make sense for them to go back to japan and make a game, there are a few places left to make ideas from them probably 3 more areas left Tokyo Kyoto and Okinawa And possibly china and India So it makes sense if they put a hold on the zodiac or other recurring themes for a generation or two.
about their final evos I think Fuecoco resembles a lot like totodile, its possible that it might be a pure fire type (chili+fucoco), while spriggy might be grass/fairy or grass/psychic, while quaxly is definitely going to be water/flying (hybrid of swan-seagull with pirate or captain based theme)
As someone who LOVED some of the bipedal designs, I personally hope that they don't go with that direction with weed cat because: 1- the second design for all the starters are my Fave 2-I think the furry bait works better with Ben 10/Chaotic type of games/TV series It's too weird for Pokémon, and I hate Incenroar for that
My own typing theories: Sprigatito-either grass/fairy or grass/steel Feugcoco-fire/electric Quaxly-water-/fighting or water/psychic Sprig seems likely for the common ideas the fandom came up with,I’ve been saying for a while now that I want coco to be electric.I think an electric snake that uses small pad like things on its body to detect magma underground would be a fun idea.quax I feel like psychic just because I don’t know if cocos idea is based off of anything,I just wanted a fire/electric starter for a while now and I think this is the perfect time to make one
Fire/Fairy would be freaking awesome for the final evolution of Fuecoco. Fire/Fairy is one of the few combos we don’t have! The type combos will greatly help me determine which starter I pick
Thank you for the fun Cat Returns reference in your video. It made my day because the idea of the Cat King having power and influence is silly, especially considering how he acts in the film. Also thanks for sharing your thoughts and reasons for the different typings and designs.
@@chunkymonkey7983 because I love snakes and I've been hoping for the fire snake for a while now I'll not hate Fuecoco when it turns into something else, a cool snake would just excite me a lot
FINALLY SOMEONE DOESN’T INMEDIATLY JUMP TO SPRIGATITO BEING A GRASS FAIRY. I also thought running with the whole Literature inspiration you suggested for Sprigatito and Fuecoco that maybe Quaxly may borrow some parts from Don Quixote (Spain’s MAIN novel character).
How do people get to that conclusion? Bc Sprigatito is cute? If so that doesn't seem like a good comparison... I also don't understand how people see Sprigatito as "Feminine" when it's just cute.
Okay so hear me out, there is an obvious pun they haven't made yet that they can for Quaxly final evo and is something that I will repeat when the discussion is open. If the weapon water starter theory is true then I can see Quaxly final evo wielding a halberd like weapon, this does not conflict with the sea fairer aspect of Quaxly and give us the pun of a halbird a bird that wields a halberd
It might just be me but I don’t see Quaxly as a sailor, rather when I look at him I see a bull fighter. It’s mostly his stance that makes me see it, with his wing as a potential stand in for the cape.
I think a cool idea for Quaxly's final evolution is using its "hat blob thing" as a shield and holds it in his left wing, in his right wing could be a sword pirates used to have. Maybe call it Sheilda or something.
That typing actually sounds perfect. At the end of their evolutionary lines, their typing would put every starter on an even playing field against the other. The grass beat water beat fire beat grass is counteracted perfectly by a steel beat fairy beat fighting beat steel typing. At the end, any one of them has a near equal chance of winning a fight.
Okay, so what would separate the rivals from your friends? The rival has always chosen the pokemon with the advantage (Red, Silver, etc.) while your rival always chose the one weak to yours (Hau and Hop).
I like the grass/dark, fire/dragon cause then yeah it would be really strong and u wouldnt have to rely on mega charizard x, and then a water/fighting most definitely would be cool.
I am from Spain and I think it’s important to say that Quaxly has a inverted version of the political party “pp” (partido popular) drawn on his hat (this party is mainly voted by people that have a lot of money). Also, his hat can also be seen as a hairstyle, this hairstyle is called “pelo cazo” and it’s mainly used by teens whose parents have a lot of money and live in wealthy areas, this kind of people are called “Cayetanos” or “pijos”. I don’t know, someone might find this interesting.
For the Sprigatito, I really hope it stays quadruped and turns Grass/Dark. I didn't like Fuecoco, but I liked the evolutions you showed. And for Quaxly, I thought of it becoming a captain of a warship, and that's exactly how you showed it.
I just realised when you said that we didn't get the final starter evos for galar or hisui before release that in both cases I relied on leaks to pick my starter because I need to know what the final evo looks like before I pick it
I am a die hard water starter trainer! I favour the water typings so fucking hard….gen nine was literally the first gen to make me shake in my resolve… the second and third evolution to my little duck boi is unfortunate and kinda fucking dumb like what the hell…. I have never ever not once had these feelings before this gen
i think that fuecoco is going to be a fire ghost pokemon because in his dex description it said "who plans to turn this chilling pokemon", other option that could works very well could be ice fire
I really REALLY do not want Fuecoco to turn into a snake. It was intensely stupid when Snivey did it, and this would be no different. Besides, the whole fire starter zodiac thing has been utterly busted since gen 2. Even if they are, or at least were going for it, it was always disingenuous.
I want Fuecoco to become a serpent for the final evo, Quaxly needs to become part Flying-type, and Sprigagato needs to be more like Puss in Boots with hopefully Gen 10 getting a South America based region.
As a Portuguese person I was a bit on edge when I saw this on my feed, given that the pokemon community simply cannot go a single second without being xenophobic (I've seen far too many comments on non serpentine Fuecoco fan evolutions that completely disregard customs such as the Coca festival because it doesn't fit with the zodiac theme and plenty of other terrible things) but you never fail to deliver quality! This was a great video and I was actually quite surprised to see someone else who sees Quaxly's final evo being Water/Fighting :D!! Keep up the good work man P.S: I want a semi bidepal weed cat bc that concept is underrated and there's not enough mons like that, plus it pleases both parties c:
Fuecoco turning into a serpentine would just make it a complete ripoff of snivy. Both snivy and fuecoco’s body shape already look alike why take it even further and make it a serpentine like serperior. If you agree with fuecoco becoming a serpentine, you’re gonna be one the pokemon fans bawiling their eyes with you can’t use the chines zodiac anymore
@@KingJavv_editz tbh I have to somewhat agree I don't mind people using the zodiac theory(when people aren't blatantly disregarding designs based off of a specific culture that is), but I definitely disagree with it Not only because... Cyndaquil exists but also because to me, someone who studies character design it always felt like a really basic reading of the starters Like... Really? There's so much that goes into designs such as Delphox, Inceneroar, Typhlosion and etc... And the most a lot of people took from them was the Chinese Zodiac? Come on man :x (plus it's an extremely restrictive theme to go by, I doubt all of the designers really bother with such a thing) TLDR: I don't care much for the theory, I disagree with it, would much prefer Fuecoco to remain a crocodile /lizard like. That's my own 2 cents. No biggie
I really hope the grass starter's evolution is good I want to go for that because I've never had a grass starter before I've had fire and water starters but I've never liked the grass ones enough to choose them

Pokémon can have their type changed. In gen 6 when fairy type was introduced, some Pokémon changed to fairy type. Obviously charizard hasn’t changed to fire/dragon but it got a mega evolution that did.
- I also considered Grass/Rock, if Sprigatito-3 takes elements of Tezcatlipoca (an Aztec god associated with jaguars and obsidian mirrors). - I had actually considered Fire/Fairy as a possibility for Fuecoco-3...though more in the direction of a winged serpent being very similar to a seraphim, a type of angel. - Some of Quaxly's names seem to relate to hairstyles, so perhaps its crest could become more prominent - and even weaponized - as it evolves. Maybe as a...mohawk? A halberd-like mohawk? Double wordplay, heh.
@@unailibano6928 Alright. I hadn't seen the movie since I was a kid. When I originally googled it, it said Spanish, but now I see it takes place in California. So Mexican does makes more sense.
My theory is that the new gimmick is a form change mechanic that gives or swaps types. And I think that this is how cocofeugo will become more snake like if only briefly.
I really wish we don’t get a new gimmick, with the pla format seemingly coming along I see no reason to add a gimmick (Tbh they were only there to add lore to remakes and to try to make the formula new which only worked for Megas and z moves) If they did add a new gimmick it might not be battle related at all,o think it would be pretty fun
🤔... probably a day/night based swap. Daytime: grass/rock, fire/fairy, water/fighting Nighttime: grass/ice, fire/ghost, water/dark ... just a thought. 🤷
tbh my dream spriggatito evolution is a grass/fairy or grass/psychic type lion with a GIGANTIC flower mane. there's also been a theory going around that fuecoco may evolve into a ghost type, due to ghost peppers and a mythological ghost crocodile lizard thing (I believe) and I love that theory!
Personally, I've always felt that the 'themes' that people attach to the starters based on type are a stretch; yes, even the Chinese zodiac theory (Cynaquil is not a rat and Fennekin is most certainly not a dog), so it disproportionately annoys me when people blindly assume that Game Freak is 'doing this' on purpose when the theories are hardly watertight. Also, I have zero qualms whatsoever about a bipedal Sprigatito evolution, and think that it could actually be really cute. Just, please, don't go the Incineroar route, because Incineroar already exists and while it's not horribly hideous, I personally think it's on the ugly side.
You know after playing the games and seeing the true final Evo's, I have to wonder if they made this set to debunk all those starter theory predictions. Like Fuecoco's isn't a serpent or anything, Quaxley's doesn't really have a weapon theme (an argument could be made for a fan but that's a stretch) and Sprigatitto's isn't really and extinct animal.
I like your prediction of typing because all the secondary types are strong against their main typing weakness like how the fire guy is fairy and grass guy is steal and although fire is four times weakness any fairy moves are not effective
The fire type's final evolution art by Bromojumbo is not his own art, cuz if you play fangame called "pokemon xenoverse" you ll see the grass type is same as he drew, so bromojumbo must apologize!
A Quetzalcoatl Mon isn’t exactly original my guy. Fakemon can draw inspiration from the same source and not be copying. They are two very different concepts.
I've been thinking that if the water starters do usually follow the weapon inspiration, quaxly evolving to be based on/be equipped with a harpoon, that would be so awesome. And it would make a lot of sense
why does everyone want fuecoco to evolve in Quetzalcoal quiero decir estaría bien si la región fuera México pero es en ESPAÑA debería evolucionar en una salamandra o en un dragón que si existen en la mitología española
@@kai_fakemonsr6855 Of course, in most regions the pokemons did not even resembled the region, however, if they go by actually representing the region, they should do it right. Mixing Mexica mythology in Spain would be nonsense. Unless it was the last pokemon, announcing a new region.
@@goodaimshield1115 mexican and spanish mythologies are of course very different, but so are japanese and american mythology, and unova still exists, the starters in unova, specially emboar and samurott have nothing to do with the region itself,so we can presume that pokemon take some creative liberties,as the pokemon regions not always reference 100% of the culture of the region it is based on
@@kai_fakemonsr6855 Again, if they are doing it generally, it's okay, now, if everything is Spanish, and suddenly we get 2 mexican pokemon, that would be weird. Of course they can do whatever they want, that's a given, but it would be weird nontheless.
maybe we could have our first split evolution starter and depending on a item or move it could evolve into which version you want bipedal or quadrupedal!
All the speculations looked amazing, I would have trouble picking if they were real. Many people speculate that Fuecoco could be an apple or pepper but i think the head thingy looks more like a mini volcano, so that could grow bigger as it evolves
For me, I would like to see Fuecoco with the double types Fire / Ground. None of the fire starters got this combination, only Camerupt got it. Plus it's a chili pepper, it doesn't grow in trees but near the ground. And his legs give me the impression that it's well anchored in the ground, therefore his final evolution could be powerful and heavy. For Quaxly, well it's a bird / duck. I know it could be kinda obvious and lazy but Water / Fly it's all I can see. Maybe Fighting or Dark because Navy Army or Pirate stuff but hey, it could be the first water starter to fly. And Sprigatito. It could be kinda bold, even strange but they did that in Arceus with Voltorb so it's not impossible. Yeah, Grass / Electric. Because I would like to see a kind of forest beast like a lynx / tiger able to camouflage itself in the bushes to hunt. And when he runs, (as a quadruped duh) he produces friction with his thick coat and thus produces static electricity. And if its final evolution is a smilodon, it could be a cool idea to see it using his "saber-tooth" as a conductor for its electrical attacks, like Thunder Fang! So, for me, It'll be Grass/Electric - Fire/Ground - Water/Fly
In a Germany region concept I came up with the starters would end up as grass/dark, fire/psychic and water/fighting being a bandit, Pope and king respectively
My type hopes : Grass/fairy (cause I love the grass starters, cats and cute fairy types lol), fire/ghost (the ghost pepper joke is too precious), and water/dragon (balance out the stepchild syndrome lol throw in some cool dragon!) Maybe water/fighting to go with the captain astheic. Love the artists prediction guessed and reasonings! 👌✨
Did you notice: The final typings make them super effective the other way around Water>fire, fairy>fighting Fire>grass, steel>fairy Grass>water, fighting>steel
It's also possibility that only one or two of them will gain a secondary type, and the other(s) stay mono-typed. Not predicting this, but it's a possibility, and it wouldn't be too crazy. It's happened quite a few times
I would be fine with the Spirgatito becoming bipedal if he looks like the dark grass you showed because he just look like a cat standing on its hind legs and not a human cat hybrid
I think Sprigatito will stay quadrupedal because it’s a grass starter. Any grass starter that was a quadruped stayed a quadruped when it evolved. It’s the fire starters that become bipedal
I am all for Grass/Fairy, Fire/Dragon and Water/ Steel. Another is Grass/Psychic, Fire/ Fighting and Water Dark.. If we wanna continue the fire/Fighting trend!
I think that Quaxley is based on conquistadors, or Don Quixote. I mean Quaxley and Quixote sound SO similar! Plus, it could be given a spear or polearm, to continue the weapon themeing.
I hope that Quaxly turns into a swashbucklin, sword weildin, Buccaneer! In all honesty I am just not the biggest fan of him becoming a Sailor. Maybe he could have like...A corruption arc where Quaxly becomes less tidy and more chaotic through his Evolutions
A friend of mine joked that Fuecoco's Evolution could be a fire and ghost-type, but the only reasoning that they gave was ghost pepper.

I don't really have an issue with starters becoming Bipedal, what matters is it becoming too humanoid
This just reminds me of when I saw some people complain that Rillaboom and Cinderace were humanoid, as if Rillaboom is any more human shaped than an IRL gorilla and as if Cinderace was any more humanoid than Bugs Bunny himself.
Totally! They should have animalistic features if they are going bipedal!

I would love it if sprigitito stayed cute
I'm so glad you said this.
I had this same idea a while back and I hope it’s like this too
I could see Grass/Ice given how commonly people associate Sabertooth tigers with the ice age.
Some people think Quaxley might be Water/Dark as a reference to the ruthlessness of Spanish conquistadors in the 15th- 16ty century.
I feel like grass + dark is better and if u want me to explain no cus I can't find a reason to explain other than it fits
Edit: okay just rembered it was cus people portray cats as "evil" and cus sabertooh tigers to me feel like a dark type
Fire rock is worst type combination, Fire Ground is better and only weak to water 4 times and also ground.
It would be wild!!! Im Brazilian myself and would love something like that oh MY
W0W... I WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE TO SEE THAT!
@@coolguy1377 if they do that i will be so happy
That and ghost peppers give good reason to believe that it will be fire ghost
Fire/steel maybe. It might have a armour around its body when it evolves.
Also, here's what I want the stats for each starter final evo to be
Sprigatito (would be a fast special/mixed attacker)
HP: 75
Attack: 95
Defense: 65
Sp.Atk: 105
Sp.Def: 80
Speed: 120
Total: 535
Fuecoco (bulky physical attacker)
HP: 100
Attack: 125
Defense: 105
Sp.Atk: 70
Sp.Def: 80
Speed: 55
Total: 535
Quaxly (decently fast physical attacker)
HP: 80
Attack: 120
Defense: 80
Sp.Atk: 80
Sp.Def: 75
Speed: 100
Total: 535
So Donald Duck then
The water starter will not be flying cuz it would have been already which a weird decision considering rowlett had the typing
I'd be fine with it being Flying-type and would save me the trouble of getting one later for my team.
Problem is , Fuecoco will only take neutral damage against Fairy due to fire typing.
STEEL/FAIRY/DRAGON IS TRIO, BRO !
I actually really like the secondary types you chose. It creates a type triangle in the opposite direction of their primary types, which is an interesting dynamic
I like how the secondary types match up with the water < fire < grass line-up, with steel < fairy, fairy < fighting, and fighting < steel.
It's also perhaps worth noting that the word for ruler in Nahuatl, Tlatoani, means "one who speaks", tying the rulership association Quetzalcoatl had to speech, wind, etc (though I think that's incidential, as Feathered Serpent ties to rulership long predates the Nahuas)
More broadly in other Mesoamerican cultures, Feathered Serpents represented rulership/high priesthood, the dualism and boundaries of the heavens and earth, what with them having the traits of both birds that fly in the sky and snakes that slither on the ground: Early Feathered Serpent precursors such as seen in Olmec art tie into the iconography of sky--bands, which represent those boundaries and are often placed in separating thresholds in architecture, such as doorways; and Quetzalcoatl in myths often transgresses both from the heavens to the earth (such as the Toltec ruler Ce Acatl Topiltzin) and to the underworld (such as when he retrieved the mythical bones from the underworld to revive/create humanity).
(Notice also here how shells, the curving snake/river shape, etc tie into the Conches and spiral fret motifs I mentioned earlier such as with the Aztec's learning-wind Quetzalcoatl: If you google "A STUDY OF MESOAMERICAN RELIGIOUS SYMBOLISM" there's a infograph showing how all those visual motifs tie into each other)
So there's a lot of typings you could assign a Feathered Serpent pokemon that would tie into these: Dragon, Psychic, Flying, Fairy, Water, etc...
@@MajoraZ that’s nice but Bromojomo said they specifically used Cuélebre in his inspiration for Fuecoco’s evolution
The stretching people do to make Fennekin fit isnt far off from, "Oh, the new fire starter is a giraffe?...looks like we got our Ox!"
Not trying to hate, but there is this weird "absolute" about this theory to some fans that just...puts me off it.
@@namegoeshere5220 even if gamefreak is doing the zodiac thing, they still have their creative liberties with the pokemon
@@yinyang4451 Also, Fuecoco's face kind of looks like a skull. Maybe it becomes a ram's skull with horns as it evolves.
many people say that Fuecoco becomes a fire/ghost type for 3 big reasons
1 - the skull shaped markings on his head
2 - the ghost pepper
3 - the Spanish boogeyman, called the Coco or Coca (wich is usually depicted with a crocodile head)
also even if Fuecoco stays a 4 legged croc, it could still be part of the zodiac theory by technicality, as a male croc is known as a bull and a female croc is know as a cow (aka the ox of the chinese zodiac)
I mean, to me the boogeyman would be Fairy Ala Grimmsnarl

So it makes sense if they put a hold on the zodiac or other recurring themes for a generation or two.
about their final evos I think Fuecoco resembles a lot like totodile, its possible that it might be a pure fire type (chili+fucoco), while spriggy might be grass/fairy or grass/psychic, while quaxly is definitely going to be water/flying (hybrid of swan-seagull with pirate or captain based theme)
As someone who LOVED some of the bipedal designs, I personally hope that they don't go with that direction with weed cat because:
1- the second design for all the starters are my Fave

Sprigatito-either grass/fairy or grass/steel
Feugcoco-fire/electric
Quaxly-water-/fighting or water/psychic

It's not true though
This version of Fuecoco's final evolutions is SO much better than the canon one.

Like... Really? There's so much that goes into designs such as Delphox, Inceneroar, Typhlosion and etc... And the most a lot of people took from them was the Chinese Zodiac? Come on man :x (plus it's an extremely restrictive theme to go by, I doubt all of the designers really bother with such a thing)

Double wordplay, heh.

tbh my dream spriggatito evolution is a grass/fairy or grass/psychic type lion with a GIGANTIC flower mane. there's also been a theory going around that fuecoco may evolve into a ghost type, due to ghost peppers and a mythological ghost crocodile lizard thing (I believe) and I love that theory!

I find it funny that out of the six predictions, five of them were completely wrong but one was almost perfect.
The fire type's final evolution art by Bromojumbo is not his own art, cuz if you play fangame called "pokemon xenoverse" you ll see the grass type is same as he drew, so bromojumbo must apologize!
They Have the Same Inspiration
What are the names of the “stolen” ones
@@Jamal-RG- do you mean on fangame ?
I mean, we've had starters based on different cultures from the region they were based on, like unova
The fuecoco one looks fantastic! I would love to see my favourite starter get an evolution like that. Amazing 👍
I am so thankful you made these look cool. I can only pray that the actual evos are at least CLOSE to being this cool.
Sprigatito was surprisingly accurate with the typing
Woah, the secondary types match up as well. I'd have no problem with those being the final types
maybe we could have our first split evolution starter and depending on a item or move it could evolve into which version you want bipedal or quadrupedal!
Literally every single one of these was better than the end result.
All the speculations looked amazing, I would have trouble picking if they were real. Many people speculate that Fuecoco could be an apple or pepper but i think the head thingy looks more like a mini volcano, so that could grow bigger as it evolves
I LOVE that Fuecoco evolution. The Cuelebre tale is also from where I'm from so it'd be cool
My thoughts for Quaxly would be they evolve into a bit of a flamenco Dancer or Bullfighter! they'd also be water fighting type!
¡Flamencolé!
I look away for one second and Brandon posts this epic vid. Can't wait to see what these starters turn out to be.
Fuecoco may become a ghost fire type, if you look at fuecoco's head and day of the dead masks, they seem to have a slight similarity
Or it's the fairy-steel-dragon triple alliance, the duck gets steel, dragon fire and fairy plant (or steel plant and fairy duck )
Did you notice:
The final typings make them super effective the other way around
Water>fire, fairy>fighting
Fire>grass, steel>fairy
Grass>water, fighting>steel
It's also possibility that only one or two of them will gain a secondary type, and the other(s) stay mono-typed. Not predicting this, but it's a possibility, and it wouldn't be too crazy. It's happened quite a few times
Grass stater:
Grass & Dark
Fire starter:
Fire & Grass
Fire & Dragón
Water start:
Water & Flying
Just Water
I would be fine with the Spirgatito becoming bipedal if he looks like the dark grass you showed because he just look like a cat standing on its hind legs and not a human cat hybrid
I think Sprigatito will stay quadrupedal because it’s a grass starter. Any grass starter that was a quadruped stayed a quadruped when it evolved. It’s the fire starters that become bipedal
6:28 this design is so good it makes me sad it's not the official one
Fuaycoco Is a Fire ghost type. And also he does not lose legs in evolution.
4:32 im still predicting fire ghost. His head looks like a skull. And you know... Ghost peppers.
kinda scary how accurate the grass starter evo was 😳
It was love at first sight when I first saw Fuecoco
reverse type triangle for secondary typing could be interesting, but if that happens then the game could get a little weird
I am all for
Grass/Fairy, Fire/Dragon and Water/ Steel.
Another is Grass/Psychic, Fire/ Fighting and Water Dark.. If we wanna continue the fire/Fighting trend!
6:33 I can't be the only one that feels like it looks like a water form Talonflame.
I wish it goes: Grass-Fairy (Sprigatito) Fire-Electric (Fuecoco) Water-Dark (Quaxly).
They look better then what we got
These are fun, I like where you went with these design ideas.
