It's not surprising at all that the millipedes died. The substrate for them needs to be at least as high as the length of them for molting alone. Yes you will barely see them if you keep them this way but it's the only way to make them happy. They need leaves and rotting deciduous wood in the substrate and some wood on top of it for them to eat. They also appreciate veggies and fruit to feed on sometimes.
I really appreciate how much he cares about what he does. Seeing him get so exited about a new enclosure, new arrival, or even "sexy time" gets me exited as well😂 you will BLOW up if you keep at it👌🏼 love the videos
Can I just say that your enclosure videos are so relaxing! I love watching you redecorate or rehome, it gives me a lot of inspiration for when I get my first T. 💕
Words cannot describe how much I appreciate this longer video right now Petko :) last week my mother was diagnosed with cancer, and last Sunday she had an emergency surgery so life has kinda been hell right now. (I'm a disabled potato due to multiple sclerosis) and this is giving me 20 minutes of having a genuine nice little moment. So thank you for that. I look forward to your videos so much every week, and especially right now!
I have tanks all over my room trying to feed and sort them, checked my phone, saw the notification, stopped everything, ANIMALS RUNNING EVERYWHERE! house overrun, centipede killing everyone, BUT MUST WATCH PETKO'S VIDEO! I regret nothing.
Awesome. I have some species of ant sharing our living space. Quite terrific. They garble up whatever my family and I leave behind and it's quite enjoyable to watch them scurry about. Naturally, I'm pretty alone in that sentiment. Take care.
Hey Petko, when I make a Background with expanding foam, I do it differently. After sprayibg the foam, I wait for it to harden. After that, I cut the foam to make it look the way I want. Make sure, you remove at least the top (shiny) layer of the foam, or the next steps won't work as good. After cutting, I cover the surface with silicon. They I throw the substrate on it. That way, the Backround has the shape you want and is completely covered in substrate. I hope it helps
Do I love update vids? Yeah! Do I love feeding videos? Yeah! Do I love random videos? Sure! But when you make enclosures, it's one of my favorite types of vids you do. Could watch them all day.
For millipedes you need to sustain them on more than just cocofiber. Your substrate needs more decaying bark and needs to be a tad deeper to support them. Love your channel.
Another really great video, the displays (sorry) look so good and your right it will be so cool to sit in a big comfy swivel chair with a tin of lager or wine and just watch them all enjoying what you've built for them. Too Cool. Xx
Excellent video of how to create a natural habitat for stick insects. I also like to adapt this system in my vivariums. The plant in question to feed insects, is the bramble.
So glad this worked out so well for you. Looks amazing! 👍 really look forward to your videos! I am wanting to make a bioactive set up myself 🤗 #Inspiration
Love your channel!! What I do is use the expanding foam, sand it to get the shape you want. Once you're done sanding, add black silicon to the foam, then add the substrate! Keep up the good work!!!
I have to say you are quite the inspiration. I'm working on a vivarium for my ball python and you have been so helpful. You also make me wanna go out and get a turantula! Keep up the good work and may your passion never be crushed!
Great video i would let your let your foam dry first cut away the shiny layer and get the shape you want. Then silicone smaller portions and add substrate until the wall is covered. i do that for some of my enclosures.
It is really starting to look great and you looked very pleased with the end result l am sure the little critters will enjoy it too. Love to see naturalistic enclosure set ups.
I get such joy watching you do these things. You are in your element and it’s wonderful. Those jungle nymphs have the best enclosure ever now!!! Lucky roaches too. I’m so looking forward to seeing what you do for the chameleon enclosure. It’s going to be ridiculous!!!!🕸🦗🕷🦂🐜🦀✨
in a few of your videos you complain about not enough tripods, if you message me id love to buy you one! after all you've done for me and not even knowing you've done it , i have 19 exotic spider thanks to you, 7 of which are tarantulas and a few other exotic animals so if you'd like to take my offer, or if you need anything else just message me!
Beautiful. You’re so creative and you obviously care for your animals. Now where is the stick insect and the mama wolf spider ? Sincerely, your devoted arachnophobic fan
i personally let foam and silicone "gas out" for a couple of days. the chemicals released during may harm the animals but it came out looking beautiful good job man.
The problem with the expanding foam is that it needs to be worked on after it expands ( you need to cut it and mark so it actually looks good and natural).. Imo you should still use it in the chameleon enclosure but dont put anything on it, use a knife to cut it in a natural way and then paint it with water based paint.. most reptile owners do it like this.
PS be careful about getting the right ratio between ventilation and the humidity you'll need to keep inside. The more ventilation the better since it prevents mold but its harder to keep the humidity high, and you'll need to keep it in the percentage gap recommended, chameleons are rly fragile reptiles and way harder to take care of than the crested gecko in terms of you having to keep the right temps and hum standards. Youll need to buy a thermostat and an hygrometer
I have seen a lot of comments like this one and it's like no one listened to what I actually said in the video xD I said that I want to TEST IT OUT without carving, painting or siliconing it to save time...I know how to do it best way and I wanted to see how it will look if I just dump the substrate.
I personally don't use styrofoam, expanding foam and other synthetic foam because its expensive here. For backgrounds, I filter the soil, place water on it and turn it into clay then I spread it as background for my enclosure then I sprinkle it with cocofiber, sphagnum moss and a little bit of soil.
I feel 50/50 on that background. I kinda like how maybe it looks like rocks but at that same time it doesn’t look as nice as your hand carved backgrounds
Petroleum you should try the Liquid rubber. You could easily paint it on the foam after it dries and then add dirt or sand to that. The background would then be water resistant as well.
AH I'm slightly jealous of all your jungle nymph eggs?????? I have some praying mantids, but I also have a small aquarium that I want to turn into a terrarium with a bunch of plants and some bugs. I would totally hatch some nymph eggs and build some separate enclosures...... Congratulations on your pair there!!!!!!! ;^)
The "failed" background looks aktually pretty good. Only on close examination it has some sort of a poop-structure. Where do you get the blueberry stuff from? Do you have a busch in your garden?
4:05 when you just right away shout and warn that the tripod is not placed properly and realize you are just watching a video. XD damn your videos are really engaging man XD.
I made some AVG mix of my own in which I'm gonna use for some remodeling. I love watching tanks get built from the ground up mainly cuz it's so pleasing
Finally it is friday 🙏❤️ man that was another awesome Video 😊 i was so when my Phone send me a notification message about your New video ❤️ all i can say is, Petko you saved my Day once again 😊 thanks for what are you doing ❤️ can't wait to See the New Video on monday 😊 you are awesome my friend 😊❤️
Yeeeaaahhh those roaches are gonna probably get into the drainage layer FYI, they are good burrowers and will rearrange the enclosure as they see fit. :/
the Jungle nymphs are pretty amazing if you saw them separately youd think they were two completely different kindsve stick insect and not a male and female of the same species. and theyre enclosure is really nice w/ the other animals living in it too. Im sad for the millipedes tho :( I like millipedes bcus theyre nicer than centipedes and we didnt even see them hardly :(
I enjoy all of your videos... I like how you are not squeamish holding insects like roaches.... im from Brooklyn Ny where we spend alot of time trying to avoid any kind of roaches and killing them .....
Instead of just leaving the foam how it comes out of the can like that you can just mold it with a spoon or something to smooth it out so it doesnt look like just a bunch of swirls
This new enclosure looks great but I dont know if it's not too dark for jungle duo (however weird it sound in Dark Den). Also I have an idea that you couldmaybe make whole photo gallery of your enclosures becouse they look simply stunning. PS And maybe another bottle enclosure update pls?
I love it, looks beautiful, it is so cute how excited you are to provide these animals happiness and comfort. I have a lot of respect for what you do, I know for one you have made me have an appreciation for spiders, I'm working on roaches, they are just so creepy for me...lol. I love to listen to your videos, you accent is so sexy . I enjoy video's like these. Love to you...Love to all...Kitten
When did he get those jungle nymphs ? There is rehousing video from January, but i didnt find anything before that. Anyone knows ? I would like to check it from beginning.
Hi Petko:) I have my first Tarantula now and i have a Problem:-( I hope you can help me. I have a Terrarium with Gaze,i think its called (mesh cover) on Top and my little Girl got stuck in it last night.:-( i was able to rescue her,but my question is how can i replace this?Is Plexiglass ok? I`ll be very happy if you can help me with this. i am scared that this could happen again.

"can sit here and enjoy the nature, hell yea" lol you bring such joy to the strange pet world!

You give me so many great ideas. Thanks Marko.... 😁 284k celebration coming soon! Congrats!

The nymphs got HUGE since the last time I saw them 😍 I'm thinking of getting one now, or maybe a walking stick

I've spoken to the centipede and he says he will spare my family because I made his home pretty today... * whips away sweat * woah! That was intense.

Looks great, glad to see the expanding foam can be covered without the silicone, thats gonna save a lot of time and money.
I love this kind of video! I really enjoy watching you make the art pieces of enclosures! Wonderful thanks for sharing your hobby with us!

You are so patient with the fiddly bits. I would not be quite as craftsy As You Are!
For millipedes you need to sustain them on more than just cocofiber. Your substrate needs more decaying bark and needs to be a tad deeper to support them. Love your channel.
All your hard work is really paying off, Petko. It looks pleasing. Great video!
Petko another great video. I'm sure I'm not the only one re-watching all your videos. 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️

What have you done with the wolf spider???
I AM FIGO in it's own enclosure , where he put it
Where is the spider!?
I always love your enclosures, nice haircut by the way.
Looks so great! Good to know about the foam and substrate tactic, I'll have to try that on my next viv upgrade

Hell yes fab enclosure . Looked like you really enjoyed making this one. Thanks for the great vid.
Communal enclosures are my favorite. Also I like your haircut :)
Congratulations for your growing family! Awesome new communal enclosure!
OH I JUST HAD AN IDEA! You should put in the roach that has survived in the beetle enclosure lol!
You did an awesome job. The roaches now have a condo lol
10 thumbs up
great video like always .. love your Dark Den space and its getting better with everything new addition.

Email him ;)
Wow, this is inspiring!!!(: God bless you
Just the tip when you're using expanding foam and the nozzle gets clogged just take a long drill bit to clean out
The tiny piece of foam on the cork bark really upsets me *weeps*
I know...but foam is so sticky that I couldn't just remove it without leaving the same mark so I just left it xD
Great video and I admire your commitment to this hobby. Truly inspiring to pursue my own hobby’s 👌🏻🍻
