In this video we are fixing an issue that just came up with the 1954 Chevrolet Belair. We took it on a Cruise to make sure the brakes and newer engine didn't have any issues and found out the headlights don't work. It isn't ever a good time to find out your headlights don't work when its dark and you are a ways from home! I thought the issue was just the dimmer but it turns out it went deeper than that. I bought a new dimmer switch for the floor and a better more robust headlight switch. This car use to be 6 volt and was changed over to 12 volt before I bought it. I am just trying to keep it on the road as a driver for now. We now have a good working set of lights with a somewhat cleaned up wiring. Hit the Comments and let me know what you think.......

I actually like the 54. I'm glad you decided to repair the light switches 👍 Those wheels are killer on there💙
Thank you. I wish it had an LS amd ac
Facts!!!!!
While I am partial to a ‘55, I dig your ‘54. Love that blue. Agree with you on the foot switch for the dimmer. My first car in high school had that. Very convenient.
Yeah I like it better in the floor
Nice Sunday cruiser to church. I like the parking lights staying on with headlights
Thank you. Way to hot for That right now. Lol
@@TWAMotorsports yea I hear that brother. South Texas is hot and sweaty 9 months a year. Gotta be prepared doing car shows.
I can imagine
Nice job finding the headlights problem.. need lights to drive at night time.. safety first 👍
Yeah it was a sketchy drive home
That hole in the fire wall bugs me. You can make a grommet for it. Take some hose. We used washer fluid hose. Because we had alot of it. And it was the most flexible. But cut a slit in it. Fit it in the hole cut it for size. Then put either caulk in it. Of weather strip glue. Put it back on the firewall. No more worries about shorting out wires. Be well and keep cool.
Yeah it needs something
I had to switch my headlights over to relays on all my old cars with a dimmer switch like that . I was going through dimmer switches like crazy . New bulbs pull more current than those switches can handle .
That is what I am afraid of
For the record, I really dig the 54. 🙂
I love the look
Travis, I love your '54. I have enjoyed all the work you have put into it. Have you checked in on a Vintage Air a/c system? That would really make the car a comfortable family cruiser.
Thank you. I haven't but would love to have it.
I love that car i love all your builds
Thank you. I definitely love the looks
I love the 1954
I love the look
@TWAMotorsports Me too I like it on the ground. The most I might go about it
👍
Your 54 is a badass!!!
Thank you
You never said why the high beams wasnt working at first or maybe i didnt catch it... Was it just due to the dash switch you replaced?
Dimmer wasn't wired correctly
