As someone that has spent YEARS contemplating diving into my (already owned) Genki books, this is great. Thanks so much for this.
You're welcome! I hope you find them all useful!
Lol, you might be future me.
Wow I'm so glad the youtube algorithm sent me here! This is fantastic. I'm just beginning my journey into Japanese. I've got the genki books but was a bit daunted as I've heard they are better in a classroom setting. This makes it more accessible for me.
I'm happy to hear that you found it useful! I hope you can continue to find other content helpful as well! =)
Thanks for watching!

Actually i don't have a genki book, because i don't have money for that, but this is helping me soooooo much im taking notes and trying to remember it. THANK YOU! 💚
there are pdfs of the books online !!
Same!
@@sam-km7cbwhere can I find that?
@@zealous7933 Just google it, I ordered a physically copy and got a pdf online. There's a lot of places where you can get the books.
@@mendozacarlosfelipew.3055 As far as I know, Genkis are protected by copyright. Ofc it depends on country to country, but in some places (e.g. Japan) piracy is strongly prohibited, and you easily can get in jail
i've had a hard time keeping myself dedicated to studying genki. these videos are a blessing! very great pacing.
I'm happy to hear that they are helping! Thank you for watching!
Trying to study out of a textbook by myself really made me appreciate a thing I always kinda took for granted when i was in school: Having someone with knowledge on the subject explain and give additional context to the topics at hand. Really appreciate this kinda content for my own studying purposes, even just going over something that I'm pretty sure I already got down is really helpful
Hows your Japanese going 😮
OMG finally a good channel for japanese.. You don't put the roman version or sumn for the japanese characters, you literally let us get used to reading the characters which is what I was looking for thank you so much! Much love ❤
I dont own genki but this is a great way to know in general what we learn in it
this is so underrated
I'm happy you think so. Thank you for watching. =)
I took japanese for 4 years in college and taught English in Japan but since then I feel my japanese has really gone down and I want to teach in Japan again, so imagine my joy finding this! The genki books are what my professor used and this is such a good way to re learn what I already learned
I'm glad to hear it. I hope you find the series helpful, as you get back in touch with Japanese. =)
just saw this channel in my recommendations, well 15 min in and i already leaarned more than in 1 month duolingo lol
Duolingo was good for learning kana only. This is amazing by comparison!
You are a fantastic teacher! Love the energy, the repetition, and visual style of colour coding words.
Thank you so much lassi! =)
These videos are amazing! Just started Genki last week and this is a great recap + extra explanations for my time off during the weekends!

Appreciate the time taken to remove the chat and upload an additional video :)
This is just what I was looking for, thank you so much! It's so useful that Andy-san added all 3 scripts, especially that I'm learning kanji now.
I immensely appreciate you've uploaded two versions of these streams man. I'll absolutely be using these to supplement my Genki studies.
This is great! Thanks for making this

This speedrun is very amazing! I was able to understand it more. Thank you. Will watch all your vids because I'm doing self study now.
I really appreciate the notes on natural Japanese speech while you go through this book, gives me a reason to feel confident buying it knowing I can still learn to speak naturally with your tips :D

Thanks for offering these lessons! Have been self-teaching to prepare for a visit to Japan but nothing beats having good examples to start putting it all together. Thank you, again
I love this video! So well explained and I finally follow basic sentence structures! 😁
I’ve just started following you and your lessons. I have been self studying for about two years and all of things you’re explaining make more sense to me now. I appreciate all the hard work you’ve done to make this for understandable and easier for me. ありがとうございます、先生。

Definitely adding these videos to my morning study. ありがとうアンディ先生!
This video helped me so much. Thank you
Thank you so much Andy. As a beginner who can’t focus on books I love this
This is brilliant man. Thanks for the explanations
Wow that Sensei portion was very fascinating! I had no idea but after thinking about it and the anime I’ve watched, it totally makes sense. Thanks for a subtle detail about Japanese etiquette
Thank you so much for making these videos! I've been working through Genki 1 and it really is a great textbook, but sometimes it's difficult to really grasp the grammar points when reading it over and over by yourself. Just having someone talk through it really helps either clear up things that are unclear, or confirm that I understand it.
Recently bought the book and I'm glad to have found you 🙏 Thank You!!
You deserve every patron
Just dropping in to say thanks for this series! This kickstarted my learning journey three years ago and I'm so grateful. Thank you so much!
You know you're enjoying learning when you watched a 30 min video but it feels like only 3 mins. I'll be watching the next one. Thank you for this.
i just enjoy your lessons so much! They are so understandable and fun!
Holly hell this is amazing. Andy, you are a wonderful teacher. It’s easy to see you’ve put a lot of heart and time into these lessons and I feel really lucky to have found them. Thank you so much and keep up the fine work! ✊🏽
wow you are the most concise and the clearest teacher I have evwr watch inexplaining this! I really like how you use color marker to explain the particle and other worda xD thank you Sir!
You're a saint. I just learned kana and kind of hit a wall with my studying. Really needed some guided learning and these videos are exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
Going over Genki 1 it's so nice to just game and listen to this and I still feel good like I studied lol
Episode 1 and you already got my subscription.
Thank you for this! im the type who learns better when someone speaks things to me rather than trying to read and comprehend things myself
Thank you so much for doing this great job! its really helpful! ありがとうございます。
There is so much that I like about how you are teaching Japanese. I like how you teach the literal translation, the formalities and informalities of Japanese, cultural differences. You make it very easy for me to understand I have basic Japanese on lock I think your teachings can take me to the next level. Thank you !
I used this textbook. Thank you for covering the lessons!!!
Using this and my genki text books have been making more stick, I appreciate the video
I’m low-key so glad your vid was on my rec
I had started trying to learn Japanese and year ago, and recently my friend has remotivated me to learn it with her so we can go visit Japan or possibly go to school there. This is super helpful, even as a complete beginner. Thank you so much. 私はアメリカ人です。ありがとごさいます!

Great job 👏
Struggling with grammar for a while so Im delighted this is helping me understand much better!
I’m about start my first Japanese class in college in two weeks, and it’s going to be taught by using this Genki book 1. I’m so glad I found your channel. I hope my new teacher is as good as you.
Thank you for this!! Since I self study and don’t take classes it’s very helpful to have this added information. The examples helped me understand!! Thanks again!
Really great, thanks! I worked through a lot of Genki but then life got in the way and this served as a great refresher of what I already covered.
I tried self-studying using Genki 1, and it was so challenging to stick to it, so I'm glad these videos exist. Thank you, Andy!
This was great! すごい。
