I like this format a lot better than the complete N5 grammar since you spend more time on how to correctly use these grammar points. Great video looking forward to が,に and を.
You're literally the best channel on here when it comes to taking lessons from textbooks, and providing easily digestible examples in appropriate level sentences. Not only that, but the way you teach is very clear and controlled. You should be at the top when it comes to subscribers for Japanese language studies.
Thank you so much. To those watching, I recommend that you spend time writing down the kanji's and the relevant pronunciation above it (furigana), its a quick and easy way to pick up some new vocab while getting that Kanji practice in (if that is your goal). This video made it super memorable.
I am 40 days into learning Japanese, I watched this video about 15~20 days ago and was super confused. I just came back to it today, and now understand all of this 1000% really shows how quick you grow early on! Now I’ll go watch the second grammar video and probably become confused again lol! Thank you so much for these videos, they are extremely helpful for me!
It goes without saying that these videos are so crucial and so important to future learners, so thank you for that. But I also want to say that I have been a huge huge fan of FFX/X-2 for my entire life and it brings me insane joy to see how often they appear in your videos, THANK YOU!!!!!
Matt. I really appreciate the time you are spending on each piece of grammar. Your other videos cover lots of ground, but this really helped conceptualize with multiple repetitions of each piece’s concepts. Can’t wait to see more like this!
This video was SOO MUCH more clear than the book had originally made it. I loved that you added "real-life" instances in which these words and particles are used, it made it more interesting and better to understand! Thank you so much, I'm excited for further videos on Genki Grammar!
I made it! The grammar portions of Genki may be my favorite videos now. I think you explained は really well in your previous video but it's even more clear now. Excellent job.
This is fantastic! I was going through so much anxiety cause I couldn’t find a comprehensible explanation about this topics Please keep up the good work man!!
So that no particle had the same use as 의 of korean which im still having trouble locking in on how its really meant to be understood but this dude perfectly explained it in a few minutes, I freakin love it!
Matt you really deserve a lot more subscribers for all the amazing work you put into your videos! I'm learning japanese daily for 6 month straight now and I love watching your videos to both challenge my japanese as well as reviewing what I know. Keep up the amazing work!
First time in your channel and I have to tell you, this content is very good! Not only informative and well-explained but also really entertaining. I've been struggling with sitting down to study grammar, but you make it pretty engaging. Thank you so much for this!
So good to see new video, as always I never have time to view these on Saturday 😢 but I will catch up with everyone on Monday. You're a star for making these, thanks
I love this series! Seeing all this out in the wild (ie real world usage) really helps make it stick! Also explaining your explanation of the の particle made it easier to understand. Like I understood the basic idea but had a hard time formulating what noun was being described well enough to translate in an accurate manner. So thanks so much!!
I love that you're following the Genki textbook! I wanted to get back into studying and going through the textbook AGAIN isn't as motivating as following video game references using grammar from the Genki textbook. ;P Looking forward to brushing up on my Japanese!
I'm torn if I like this or not. For new learners it's fucking amazing and it will for sure help you grow your channel. For me personally, this series is too basic. I hope you also keep up your more advanced content, because I LOOOOVE that.
@@GameGengo Ooh I see, I'll definetly look more into this, thanks for replying! and I just want to tell you that I really appreciate the work and effort you are puting in these videos, I never found any japanese teaching videos that are even close to the quality of your videos (in terms of editing and content), I really hope you get more recognition for you hard work. thanks again!
If the last noun is the most important, is there any difference in importance depending on the order of the other nouns in the series of の? I would guess it's in order of importance? So 日本の大学の先生です would be more correct than 大学の日本の先生です where being a teacher at a university would be more important than being a teacher in Japan?
It kinda made a bit more sense to me if I also keep the simplified " 's " meaning in mind. It's "Japan's University's teacher" but not "University's Japan's teacher". Japan possesses the university, not the other way around. And what does the university possess? The teacher. At least, that's what I, a beginner, thinks.

I'm learning Japanese through the passion of my life, videogames. I wish I found this channel sooner.
I've learnt more Japanese with this video than French in an entire university year.
Bahahah thanks for the comment, made me smile. Im glad the video was helpful for you! Lots more coming soon!
So enjoyable and easily understood
Can't wait for が particle 😁
Yaay! That's fantastic to hear! I will do my best to get there as quick as I can! ;)

Love this new series. Great to see real world examples of stuff from the textbook, really helps cement the ideas. Thanks Matt :D

Very well put together video Matt! Thanks for making it!
私はN5の語彙全部完成したでも文法は完成じゃやによとこのヴィデオはありがとうございました
You said we can't use "desu" after a verb, then why can we use it after "ski" ? in the example "Pizza ga ski desu"
Great question! Thats because すき is not a verb, but actually a Na-adjective 好きな人 for example
