    Recently completed a Labor Day group ride in the twisty North Carolina mountain roads. All kinds of bikes and I’m just so happy with my SV650. I’ve looked at 1K, 750’s and 600’s but this SV is so fun. Yeah I won’t stand a chance in the straight but it’s my Swiss army bike, does it all. Won’t say never but for now this SV will stay.

    I just bought by 2nd R6 yesterday. I had an 04 before now bought a 2015 w 9600 miles. I got a great deal on it, but it has some of the same issues as yours. Needs two brand new tires, the aftermarket clutch lever on their feels weird (i havent tried adjusting it yet though), brakes dont feel great, and the gas lid takes a minute or two of prying to open after jiggling the key. Great video, I started on an r6 any I cant see myself owning any other bike.

    As a 5'4" woman who bought an '09 R6 as my first street bike, the R6 is fine for shorter riders. I can't flat foot it with both feet, but that's only a downside when I have to back up, or move it without using the throttle.

    Personally i prefer the Cfmoto all the way. You cant compare a 600cc with a 450cc in terms of speed, torque HP. But as a package the Cfmoto offers way more, and its a perfect daily bike. I have the 450SR and the RS660, and use the 450SR most days, as the RS660 is not as good to be filtering in traffic at slow speeds. So i guess really depends what you want it for. In the ideal world its better to have both :) And maybe a 3rd one for touring haha. Great videos as always ;)

      @@christiansvideos I think you will not be disappointed with the Cfmoto. Of course compared to my RS660 with 100hp, the Cfmoto has less torque and power, but plenty to have a lot of fun :) So if you had an R6 but didn’t ride for a while, i think you would be happy

      @@christiansvideosif your scared it will under whelm you then it probably will. Also the 450 does not come with a better package. The 600 will have way better suspension, brakes, handling. Also the new Kawasaki 636 also is coming with lots of new technology( TFT display, quick shifter, riding modes) if you want a new 600 the zx6r is the right choice at this point in time.

    What you think about R7?? Is it better or no??

  • @ArthAnsgar
    @ArthAnsgar 9 місяців тому +2

    I'm not sure I agree with the sentiment that people who can't handle 50hp shouldn't be on a motorcycle. Everyone has to start somewhere, and and while I do think it would be great if every rider could start out with a full-sized bike, I would still rather see someone start with a 125cc because that's all they're comfortable with than have them never try riding at all.
    As for the 450SS vs the R6, they're entirely different classes of bike, so I don't really think it's a fair comparison. That said, having tried both, I personally prefer the 450SS, although that's mostly because I'm short so the smaller bike is more comfortable.
    Price is a valid point to bring up, but you have to put it in perspective. My cousin paid just under $6k for his '07 R6, while I was out the door for just under $5.5k on the 450SS (dealership owner is a friend of the family so he waived the freight and setup fees). Not a huge difference in price, but we're talking about a brand new bike, with all the warrantees and lack of wear that comes with that territory, compared to a 16-year-old bike with 16 years of "I hope the last guy didn't lie about maintenance" and no warrantee. They're both worth the money, you're just paying for different things. With the R6 you're paying for performance and pedigree, whereas with the 450SS, you're paying for mechanical certainty and modern tech.

    • @onyx_might72
      @onyx_might72 5 місяців тому

      Wouldn't the 450 be a better commute bike from the low end torque of the single cylinder engine. Vs a inline 4 that has it's peak performance at top of rev range? I'm new to bikes just asking for clarity

    • @ArthAnsgar
      @ArthAnsgar 5 місяців тому

      @@onyx_might72 The 450SS actually has a parallel twin (fancy name for an inline 2-cylinder), and top end power is still higher than low range torque, just not by as much as on the R6.
      That aside, there are a variety of factors to consider, but low end torque is usually more favorable for commuting bikes.

    The 450 SS was described best as a giggle machine or around town blaster. I want an NK 450 simply for a project and fun back and forth to work bike because of the MPG. I have aspirations for other machines but not as a back and forth 40 minutes to work but for touring with my lady so a naked 450 for under 6k why not it gets 4.5 times the MPG of my truck and leaves me in the wind.
    On another note I hope that CF Moto comes out with a NK crossplane triple to give the MT 09 some real competition. I think as time goes on we are going to see more and more 270 degree twins and triples hitting the market.

A brand new 2023 bike with 1 mile on the clock for only $5.5k from a reputable manufacturer, trust me when you buy a used bike your going to find things you dont want to find and sometimes those things starting adding up real fast and next thing you know, you cant ride because something on your bike is in dire need of servicing/repair. All my bikes have been pre-owned but thats cuz im a broke boi lol. Dont be like me and risk your life on a clapped out bike, if I could go back in time id save myself so many headaches by going to a dealer and financing a bike that I actually want. I need to check the monthly payments for the insurance on an r6 compared to the cfmoto 450ss. I bet the 450ss has plenty of power for road but not track use. I don't live near, not can I afford the track, so the 450 might be the sweet spot as 300's seem to get underwhelming reviews.

    Ive had 2 R6's, an R1, and a dozen dirt bikes and I love my 450ss. I dust almost everyone I ride with through the Colorado canyons. Super fun bike. Only way you'll outgrow this bike is if your thing is straight line squiding.....

    Adobo, here's the thing though. I am a beginner rider, who rides a BMW 310 R that belongs to my mom (yes my mom is badass). It's a great bike for a beginner, but after two years of riding I am ready for something that can go faster than 83mph (that's literally the top speed of the BMW, I hate revving the piss out of it just to get to 65). The thing is though, I am a college student, so I don't have a shop, tools, or an extra 5gs to spend after I get my bike. The 450ss just makes more sense to me, especially since I don't want to kill myself going 140mph on a used r6.
    What do you think?
    P.S. Love your videos!

      If youre gonna use the Bike for commuting, the R6 doesnt make any sense. It has very low power in low rpm range til you get to about 8k rpm and now youre screaming sound in traffic. very annoying.

      Get an FZ6, literally the naked version of the 1st gen R6. Yamaha straight up took the R6 thundercat (1st Gen R6) engine and changed the shape of the camshaft profile so that the powerband kicks in way sooner in the RPM range, which made the FZ6 much easier to handle in terms of power management for street riding. Also the neutral seating position and the high handlebar height makes it so much more comfortable of a ride imo. Ive never had an R6 but I had an FZR600 for a few months, fun bike but the aggressive seating position just wasnt for me so I sold it and picked up the FZ6 that I currently ride, and the difference in ergonomics is huge. If you dont plan on taking your bike to the track, definitely look into the naked bike category. At the very least just walk into a dealership and tell em your not there to buy a bike, and that you just want to familiarize yourself with the different bike ergonomics.

    Im looking to buy my first bike right now, just got my 6L license here in vancouver canada. wondering if riding a sport bike as a daily is uncomfortable. ive seen it in a few places people complaining about sport bikes being uncomfortable to ride day to day. just wondering as someone who has clearly had a lot of experience on them as well as other bikes if you find thats the case or not

      I rode a 12 miles commute to school on an r6, and I just bought another one yesterday to do the same to work (9 miles). Its doable, yes, but the hunched position can definitely tire your back and wrists out where some days you really wish you had a car.

      Neutral seating position and high handlebar height makes it so much more comfortable of a ride imo. Ive never had an R6 but I had an FZR600 for a few months, fun bike but the aggressive seating position just wasnt for me, after about an hr of constant riding my back would start to get really tense and stiffen up to the point where I would have to pull over somewhere and stretch. I sold the FZR600 and picked up an FZ6 that I currently still ride, and the difference in ergonomics is huge. If you dont plan on taking your bike to the track, definitely look into the naked bike category. At the very least just walk into a dealership and tell em your not there to buy a bike, and that you just want to familiarize yourself with the ergonomics of different riding styles.

    It has a great look 48hp and 35kw 450cc and this is the max limit I am allowed to drive between the age 18 and 24 so I should stick with this bike or this limit of power for 6 years until i be able to go for something highr after getting a new driving license with highr klass

      Cfmoto has been ridden alot in harsh condition countries like third world country like Indonesia, Philippines,thailand. If the bike can handle the harsh condition there ofc the bike can handle the west. The west is literally heaven for cars and bike. In middle east the road are filled with bump, and pot holes. That's why we used toyota and japs brand. If cfmoto can survive here, it shows their reliability to compete with the japs

    I will be honest bike prices in South Africa are insane, the 450 ss would be perfect specially with the ninja 400 that went up in price every year by us. just to let you understand the price, the kawasaki 1000 is 1/5 of my houses price. sure I don't have an expensive house, but when the 450 comes to SA I would love to get one, cheaper than the kawasaki ninja
