@@bbbjim1fixeditI have the H250 and I want to trouble shoot it, but I wasn’t able to see how you set your multimeter tool to continuity, or how you checked the different sensors to see if they worked, and I just don’t have enough common knowledge. If this were set up for a 5 year old with no electrical knowledge or proper use of a multimeter tool I would be benefitted, but no doubt for those that could follow you- they certainly benefited greatly from this video. Thank you.
Thanks I just bought this model and two 4 foot propane tanks for 100. If I can get it working this will be a steal. The guy I bought it from says it was. Thanks
I’m new to using a multimeter and wondering how to make sure these switches are all working. I replaced my pilot light/igniter assembly and still not getting my unit to fire up. Wonder if it’s the pressure switch or gas valve. I’m getting about 450 Millivolts to the gas valve. Any thoughts?
I have the same model pool heater but it runs on propane. I was wondering if you knew, if the heater has a auto safety shutoff. If I lose power while the heater is running, Will the heater just catch on fire? I accidentally shut the pump off when I had the heater on, I was on auto pilot that day. When I realized it a few minutes later, it got so hot it blew the hoses off. The previous owner told me he did the same thing and burned up some of the wiring. I get nervous leaving it unattended.
you may want to take a closer look the flow switch, since when the pump is on that completes the circuit for the heater to work. I wish you the best on your repair
Simple test dodo bird, shut off your pump while the pool heater is running and see what it does? the flow switch should shut off the main burner. Your pilot should still stay lit. If the flow switch does not shut off, there are multiple limit switches that will eventually shut it off.
The power comes from the pilot flame on the thermo pile. When heated the thermo pile produces a small amount of electricity (5 millivolts) to open the gas valve
Does the fan constantly stay running when heater is on? I have an H series that goes on and the heater indicator goes on and then shuts off. Not sure if that is normal
Hi..great video. I have a question. Do you have to have water pumping though the unit for it to fire up.? Id like to check to see if it will at least fire up before i try you hook it up. Hayward H 150.
Do you have any other videos on this particular series? I just purchased a one , used obviously. And I have to learn everything thing I can about it. Example, I need to make sure it's converted for propane. Any help would be appreciated.
ensure the gas valve going to the heater is off then disconnect the piping from the union. do not put any thread sealant on the first tread of the pipe when installing. I wish you the best on your repair
Hey thanks so much for taking the time to make this video and post it. No doubt, you've helped alot of people. Thank you !!
Glad to hear you found the video helpful

one of the best video on the heater - well done
Glad to hear you liked it
I can’t thank you enough. I have a bad pressure sensor.
glad this helped
Saved me a few hundred bucks. Thank you!

Thank you! - This helped and got mine going.

Thanks brother!

you may wish to take a closer look at the limit switches (round disks) as well as the pressure switch, I wish you the best on your repair
1/2 inch pipe is enough? They recommend 3/4

Does this model run on120v ? How does the power come in

Yes you do, and I wish you the best
Wish you would have shown yourself jumping the wires
sorry about that, just insert a bare wire between the push on connectors. I wish you the best on your repair

I'm sorry, this is the only video I have on this. I wish you the best on setting yours up
Where does power come from on the unit?
the thermistor creates a very small amount of voltage when heated by the pilot light
@@bbbjim1fixedit thank you. That’s what you checked first in your video?

um what are you troubleshooting??
Why the gas valve will not open and send gas to the burners
Any tips how to change gas valve?
