The Long Dark - Interloper 500 - Part 41
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 кві 2024
- After surviving The Long Dark for 500 Days on Stalker mode...it's time to try the same on Interloper. There will be no firearms, looted hatchets or knives. We must make our own defenses and tools in order to survive this self-imposed challenge. It's time to see if we achieve victory or die a horrible death like everyone else on Great Bear Island.

The Long Dark Interloper is the hardest mode in Sandbox mode (The other difficulties are Pilgrim, Voyager and Stalker). The game describes that this mode is "For expert players looking for the ultimate wilderness Survival challenge."
In The Long Dark Interloper difficulty, you start with the most minimal resources, supplies are very scarce and Wildlife is rare, but it is more dangerous
- Interloper was a new game difficulty, introduced in v.364.
- The world becomes more hostile to you as you play. Global temperature drops, wildlife and fuel resources become more scarce, and Blizzards become more frequent.
- Apart from the Hacksaw and Hammer, which spawn rarely in the world, you need to create all your own improvised tools (ex. Hatchets, Knives, etc.).
- The best Clothing and Food items do not spawn.
- Wolves are more rare, but also more deadly.
- Wildlife becomes more rare over time.
- There are no firearms in the world.

Also, I'm in agreement with others. You're running in dangerous territory on your condition. I'd make it a priority, if not getting well fed, getting some good birch sleep every time. Unless you've explained it and I missed it. Hate to see a surprise wolf scented ending with as much as you've accomplished.
Agreed! With level 5 cooking, there is no reason to not sustain well fed.
Regarding transferring meat, this is where the travois shines! When meat or guts are loaded onto it, there is no stink, so predators won't be attracted.
Also, it holds like 70 kilos.
Playing games with life. I hate to see it. You are allowing yourself to lose SO much health that a single wolf attack is instant death. Carrying a torch around isn't going to help. PLEASE take care. Me and everyone else want to see you make it to day 500!
When there is a deer carcass it will stay there, when you look at it then the counter starts counting down. It will be gone in 3 in game days.
Just sitting back, drinking coffee and smoking my bong, watching another chill long dark episode, keep up the good job man, love your videos man, especially the long dark series,
Good progress for sure
That noise I believe is from a fishing tip up. Its audible from really far away for some reason.
This
The time flies on my end too, great content
I told you this several episodes back, but the "water drop" noise is the tip up that you placed and then forgot about. That sound indicates it's ready for harvest, although obviously at this point we're way past that.
Even that far away. Dang! Well I’ll go grab it up.
I've not long ago started watching your videos on this game, after hubby started playing it. I've become hooked on watching your videos. I started playing myself. My first game since I played spyro on the ps2 😂. On 110 days (granted on easy) hopefully go onto harder soon.
Nice work!
You get a critical hit to bring down a moose. Shoot until you get the crit.
You did see a moose very early on in the series between i think episodes 1 and 5 near the quonset gas station and you understandibly noped out of there. But that i believe was the only time so far
I think you left the guts from the previous bear where you killed it by the trapper homestead.
Yup. He had said he was going back for them to grab them for curing, but he had a cabin fever emergency and had to go warm up and sleep in a cave for half a day to get rid of it before he got full-blown cabin fever. i think it was up to like 90%. but then after he cleared cabin fever risk he forgot about them.
You can pause the quartering similar to harvesting. It will save your progress.
Dont waste that fire next time either. Crave off a couple of steaks or boil some water.
When I crafted the travois... The quartering and moving quarters was so much easier.
gotta remember to throw the spent sewing kit into a container to make it disappear. in a pinch every bit of weight matters. or just throw it on the ground... that also works...
leo the LEO-pet-fish... how incredible creative... i mean im not creative when it comes to names either but... really?
yeah... poor will has a lot of bad days... starving, freezing, animal fights, parasites... all that fun stuff. at least no broken ribs... well yet...
back in the little cabin in the woods... it doesnt make for a good base but i really like the small cabin... it feels so cozy...
looking forward to the next one. keep up the great work mate
Grats on the fish. Hope his life improves post LE work.
The Sergeant I mean lol. Obviously the fish will live better.
It was pretty messed up. The water smelled like sewage. Poor fish. But he's happy now I think.
@@yoji58 Ahh gotcha!
54:10 If you want to show us something easly, you can use tip of your flare as a pointer XD (I do not mean throwing it lol)
I look forward to your videos. Thank you for the entertainment!!
Remember the ptarmigan locations, they will come back later. Also, try fire arrows for rabbits and ptarmigans. On interloper, you'll have less of the spawned animals like bears. I only usually have 2 on Mystery Lake - random locations determined at start.
Oh wow I’m really early today! I always get so excited to see that good old thumbnail 😁
I don't think you actually took the guts from the last bear you killed here.
I'm happy to see you got the boots! And i'm glad you have the gut problem solved now too :) fyi rabbits do have 1 gut, one hide, and a kg or two of meat. i think it's the ptarmigans that don't have guts. also, I believe you left an arrow around where you were first hunting that bear. iirc you had 11 arrows and now you only have 10. you took 4 shots but only picked up 3 arrows. it is probably a broken arrow, but i know you need the arrow heads. it is either where the bear dropped or over on the opposite side of the lake from the hunting stand where you took the first 2 shots. i agree with everyone else about the health thing. it would be really unfortunate to take an attack by a wolf and die.
Less go great vid so far
Coal adds a ton of heat to a fire relative to its weight. Can be helpful to bring like one of them for emergency fires or for keeping warm while harvesting
Coal is such a lifesaver. Sticks and coal is all I every use for fires while on the go.
No kiddin? I've said that dozens of times.
@@Accurize2 Sorry. Hopefully someone else will find it useful at least
Starving yourself now that you have so much food isn't smart because you keep taking condition hits a single wolf attack will be game over for this series
Not too worried. There is a reason I have that much food. But thanks.
Yay another episode
May i recommend crafting fire hardened arrows. They are ideal for shooting rabbits and ptarmigan and leveling archery without wearing out your good arrows.
Last time I took down my moose with the bow, it took me 8 shots.
Dang that’s a lot! Good job.
Love the vids as usual and look forward to them, but did your recording settings get reset when you changed rigs? It looks really pixellated in dark areas especially in pitch black and ive also noticed they haven't been available in 1440p like usual
I had to reinstall Davinci Resolve and it defaulted everything back to stock. I'll have to get in there and do some tweaking. Thanks for the feedback on that!
@@Accurize2 Just export in constant bitrate and mp4 h264 codec, everything should be good
You can make notes in your Journal were you left stuff in the game, wich is really helpful. I almost forget in wich place i left something to cure :)
I try, but then forget to do so. lol
In regards to th3 fish, betas need a bit more than 3 gallons. They are divas with conditions
Well good thing it went from 1 to 3.5 then.
You can make it to 500!
Thanks for the vote of confidence! 😉
Save the fish!
Fish rescue was a success. He's all happy now.
It's a fish with a license to gill.
Is there a reason you're carrying two can openers by the way?
At least on stalker, the rabbits give 1 gut each.
Do you still need the can opener? Or two?
Nope, I just need to drop one.
👍
Betta's are notorious for being difficult to look after. They have very specific needs. Don't disregard the set up its in right now. It could be required. Good luck
It smelled like sewer water. But we got it setup with water conditioner, proper temps, ect… Before it was just lying on the bottom of the old tank barely moving all day. It’s a lot more active now.
They strangely adapt to bad conditions but giving them hyper conditioning now could shock it. Obviously you’re doing the research officer, so I’ll let the judge decide
@@Conradical316 He seems happy now. But I did add about a quart of his current water in after I allowed the bag he was in adjust to the temp of the new treated water.
@@Accurize2 that’s awesome! Just don’t get cabin fever and start office fishing
If it's a beta fish you say it bay-tah
It betta…but I think that’s what you were referring to.
Edit: I did some extra checking and according to www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/betta I'm saying it correctly... "Bet-ah".
I shot a moose in coastal Saturday. I know I hit him in the head and he charged me and luckily the 2d shot dropped him
Moose are tough like bears but they don't bleed. You always gotta have an escape plan with the moose. Especially seeing as how getting attacked by one leads to broken ribs, vs just bleeding from the bear.
