A bit of correction. Necroscope the first book came out in 86 and so did Hellbound Heart the book from which Hellraiser's been adapted from a year later. So, there's not much of a Hellraiser in it, initially at least, though its influence may had seeped in later.
Lmaaaooo the music totally is dungeon synth! This game might explain my love affair with black metal(dungeon synth and black metal are closely related)
Great picks. I can recommend The Second Apocalypse book series (7 book for now) by Scott Bakker. It's a fantasy series heavier on the philosophical side of the plot and world building.
Small words I just started listening to the Elric Saga 🤭 It was recomended to me because how similar The Witcher's Geralt is to Elric. But now that I look at it I can see the similarities to Kain to😅
9:59 Wheel of Time is nothing like Soul Reaver. Wheel of Time doesn't have time travel, isn't gothic, isn't horror. Like, I can't think of a single commonality aside from they're both fantasy stories.
I read the first book as a kid so like…ancient days gone by lol please if you think or know any books that are similar or give off a soul reaver feel drop a comment.
Maybe "Wraith Knight" by C.T. Phips. It is a little rough, but has a lot of the same concepts of Soul Reaver, especially the moral dilemmas. It leans into a more humorous tone, though. Another might be "The Wraith Returns" by Paul G Zareith. It has time travel and otherworldly beings threatening the world. It also is a bit rough in places, but overall a fun dark fantasy adventure.
@@hammad9091 reading them now actually! They are all free on audible in a Dramatised form. That’s what I’m binging at the moment. Lots of Moorcocks work is finally being brought to audiobook thank god.
@@Calypso694 awesome! I'll be getting into Moorcock's Elric books real soon. But Corum interests me as well. Apparently there are some big similarities between him and Guts from Berserk.
Unfortunately, no Necroscope book was ever published in my country or translated to my first language, so I will have to "jack sparrow" them if you know what I mean.

Excellent video idea. Subbed.

I always said that the Legacy of Kain games are the most black metal games out there.
Dungeon Synth is the future and the past

Great video !
one more recommendation - The Book of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe
Wow this is a early recommendation
Nice trivia for BO2

Have you read the Corum novels?

@@hammad9091 yeah I’ve heard that too. There’s no order to read the multiverse except Hawkmoon is considered the end so read those books last.
@@Calypso694 thanks for the heads up!
