The King of Rock and Roll - I remember when my mom and lady neighbors would scream and swoon at the TV when an Elvis movie came on. Thanks for the bringing back those memories. 😄
Aloha Misty, so glad you made it to Graceland and then to Elvis' birthplace. You can't help but to feel very spiritually touched after walking thru Graceland and the meditation garden.
Playing catch up.GraceLand is 4 hours drive from my adress.Bern to Tupelo where Elvis was born.Souvenirs are pricey, people normally buy the t shirts or Elvis Clock I have those magnets😉🤣Inremember Elvis concert in Hawaii it was shown worldwide. It was at Blaisdell Concert Hall.I was 13 at the time and still living in Hawaii.I still collect Elvis t shirts etc.. I still love him & a whole bunch of other people.Love your take on tours.Have a safe trip and GBY and your son🌹😘🥰
Awesome pictures! We've never been to Graceland but through this video I feel like I'm there 🙂 Your Videos are gonna be VR favorites in future! Your editing and production just keep getting better and better as well. Music always on point too
You are giving all of us a great treat of seeing your vacation. Thank you for thinking of us and letting us share you and your son's trip to Tennessee and Mississippi. Really enjoying your videos. I'm kind of shocked that I'm enjoying it so much. I would have never guessed I might need to go to Dollywood! When you retire you should think of organizing tours. You have a hidden talent! I can tell you put in a lot of time researching and organizing your vacation. Your son is lucky!
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you are enjoying them. I don't think I'd want to do tours. I think when I retire I'll continue to travel more. I'll be your internet tour guide. 🤣
Have you ever tried to listen to modern country songs that are popular now? Most of them are very rock/pop oriented. I don't really like old country. That's tough to handle.
Since I saw yesterday's video, I was trying to remember what I saw at Graceland. All I could remember was the kitchen, the Pink Cadillac, and a Ferrari parked outside in the garage area ( could be mistaken on this one). Watching this brings it all back. Thank you.
Oh wow! I didn't know. One day I gotta do a Kansas video. I like unpopular places and discovering interesting things. All places have then if you look.
@@FoodFiend that would be the Cherokee side of my family. Where I did my dad's funeral. Kansas is actually popular. National Bass fishing and Nascar. The Wizard of OZ and I think the Royals have beaten Boston Red Sox 🤔. Lol
You're welcome! I think you'd definitely enjoy it. We spent 2 hours there but could've stayed longer. I forgot to put footage of the Lisa Marie plane but you can see the planes too.
While you're in Memphis, if you get a chance, go to Leonard's Pit Barbecue. My favorite there was the BBQ Sandwich with a combination of bark and pork meat. BTW, Graceland struck me as the opulent palace that a typical poor to lower middle class man in the 60s would create if he had acquired lots of money. 😀
@@FoodFiend Sounds good. BTW, all the way through your video (and while I was there in Memphis) I kept hearing the song in my head: "Saw the ghost of Elvis on Union Avenue. Followed him up to the gates of Graceland, and I watched him walk right through. Security, they didn't see him. They were huddled around his tomb. But there's a pretty young thing waiting for the king down in the Jungle Room." 😉
@@FoodFiend - it'll have to be Vegas as the 1 time we planned a trip to Memphis (southern food/bbq run) with side trip to Arkansas (fried pies) was a miss (spent a day at DFW and a DFW on-site hotel) thanks to an ice storm, lol. Vegas much closer & very small chance of an ice storm.
Thank you for another awesome day of your trip! Hattie B’s looked delicious. I’ve been to Graceland years ago, and I enjoyed seeing it. Is the Dyer’s burgers fried in 100 year old grease? 😊❤️
Yes the 120+ year old grease. Sadly it didn't taste like the best burger ever. Tasted like any other burger but it was good. I was expecting more I guess.

Great music history lesson. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing the stories about Elvis! I do like Elvis more than country music, lol.

Thank you for sharing, never thought of going to Graceland before but now it is a possibility
Graceland! Hattie B's!
Yes I loved Hattie B's. Way better than Princes Hot Chicken.

From humble beginnings seems to be the running theme (Dolly & Elvis)....
Hattie B's looked yummy.
Yes Hattie Bs was amazing! Definitely beats Prince's. They did expand in Vegas if you ever want to try it.

I feel like I’m there! I would say the house is built well since it’s still in great condition!
Yes! Very well built!
Don’t forget the ⚡️ part of TCB⚡️! Taking care of business in a flash!

before i actually saw graceland [his house] i thought it would have been bigger, then i saw it :)

Are his gold records still in the racquetball building? Based on your pictures, looks like they may have been moved.
I dont remember seeing them in there, so I guess they moved them.
I seen Elivis the movie today, go see it !
Yes what a coincidence it came out around the same time we went to Graceland. I will check it out.
