    I read it as “selling my dt125 after 1 month” after watching the whole video expecting you to tell us why I you where selling it...I realised I misread it 😂 I’m relieved your not selling it, great bike to keep hold of! 👌🏻

    I have a 2006 dt 125x and I'm thinking about doing the wire trick and buying a gianelli exhaust. Will it be ok if I just jet the carb and what main jet u recommend? And do I have to do something to the air intake?

    • @petertoridechannel9361
      @petertoridechannel9361  3 роки тому

      if you keep the air intake original i recommend 220 main and 22.5 pilot, start from there and adjust the best you can. in summer even the original jets could be ok. if you wanna take off the snorkel from the air intake i suggest 240 and 25 jets, you gain some bottom power and sound but you lose a bit of top end power

    Hey bro, I just wanted to ask you what is your opinion, which bike do you think is better, Yamaha WR 125X or Yamaha DT 125 X 2007. I originally wanted a WR 125, because it is 4 stroke and It's mostly reliable , fuel efficient, decent enough for highway use, fuel injected, although not as fast as the DT and cost quite a lot. Since you have experience with the DT 125 and I'm sure, you have heard of the WR 125. What do you think? Which bike is better? I have ridden mostly 2 stroke bikes, I was wondering on the DT 125X about the fuel efficiency and fuel consumption on 100 km, if you calculated it. Reliability, and have you ever done a long ride with it, by long i mean 100-200 km. Does it overheat after a long ride? Do you mix the oil in the tank or you put it in the oil tank? Is it okay for highway use? Does it have any problems with gears? There's an offer near me, a dude is selling his Yamaha DT 125X 2007 for 1500€ it has full arrow exhaust, attack clap(i presume tuned power valve), and it has been rebuilt recently with everything working great. The owner says it makes about 37hp but i do not think thats possible, its probably around 20-25 hp. The Yamaha WR 125X is at its lowest price about 2000€ and i think i could negotiate the Yamaha DT for about 1300€. I would love to know what do you think, and if you can answer my questions i will be so thankful. I'm 16 and one of these bikes will be my first road legal bike, i want it to be great! Thanks in advance for the answer!

      hey man! thanks for the question! a friend of mine has the wr and we did a few journeys together. the longest ride we have done was about 500 km, i didnt experience any overheating (use ONLY GENUINE OR ATHENA HEAD GASKETS or you will, because with cheap ones the bike starts to burn coolant till there's not enough anymore ) during that journey. in the city my bike does 17/18 km/l, while at constant speed i easily go over 20 (maximum i did was 22) (this at an average of 90 km/h , 80 real). i put the oil in the oil tank as it is supposed to be done: this way i can engine brake as much as i want because oil gets into the cilinder even with the throttle closed, you can switch the oil hose for a clear one so that you always make sure the pump is not pumping air (fails are very rare but they sometimes happen). i've never experienced higway use, i dont recommend keeping the bike for long periods at more than 95/100 km/h read (it is reliable but it is a two stroke anyway). No problems with gears (they kept the same gearbox from 1988 for a reason), somebody says with the 16-57 (stock) final gearing the bike has problems revving up in 6 gear (never tried that, i always used 15-57), probably because of a worn out piston or other lacks of power, if it is mecanically ok thereis no problem with 16-57, and you should also have less consumption and higher safe cruising speed than me. to be honest during that yourney i have envied my friend so much because he spent half of the money i spent in fuel (wr at constant speed easily goes over 40 km/l). i personally do around 6000 km a year, this means 1 piston every three years. if you plan to do like 15000 km every year i recommend going for the wr, unless it is ok for you to open the cilinder every winter (you should also check the valve clearance on the wr every 6000 km but there's no problem if you skip one turn and it's zero cost). i also recomend getting the dt if you have the passion to sometime deal with little problems (es: it vibrates more, you wanna make sure nothing is unscrewing by itself) and carry a tool bag with you during journeys, a thing the wr is 99.9 % not going to need. last but not least: dt's seat is a lot more confortable for long journeys (i came back with half of the money my friend had but my ass was ok ahahah). yes it should be around 23-25 hp.
      so it basically depends on the km you wanna do and the passion you have.
      i recommend you watching my other videos because there are a few informations here and there you will find useful!
      edit: also check the dt125r.co.uk forum, there are a lot of good informations in there

      @@petertoridechannel9361 Thank you so much, I really appreciate taking your time for answering me. maybe the fuel tank's valve is not sealing properly or the needle valve of your carburator is not sealing properly, so the engine gets filled with fuel after a few weeks

    Hello mate, did you need to derestrict for giannelli and did you need to rejet? Would help a lot because I might get a new exhaust

    • @petertoridechannel9361
      @petertoridechannel9361  3 роки тому

      hey bro, this is how to derestrict the bike ua-cam.com/video/tOZeaJnFcjs/v-deo.html . i personally went up to 220 (main jet) and 22.5 (pilot jet). i found the jets on ebay for mikuni tm 28 (i bought the kits from 180 to 270 and from 15 to 35). apart from winter when the carburation becames really poor, you can actually keep the standard jets and it will be ok. you don't necessarily need to derestrict the powervalve to install the giannelli, but if you don't do it you won't see the giannelli's gains at high rpm.

    • @nissan_6828
      @nissan_6828 3 роки тому

      @@petertoridechannel9361 thanks mate, i bought my bike and it has no RPM restriction or nothing, so I’m guessing it is derestricted, right? so the exhaust itself, the giannelli doesn’t have restrictions?

    • @petertoridechannel9361
      @petertoridechannel9361  3 роки тому

      Nissan_ yeah giannelli is already full power as you buy it. and yes your bike should be derestricted in rpm

      io sono 1.85, non è alta come sembra, penso che a 1.70 tocchi comodamente. si va benissimo come prima moto, magari per i primi mesi tienila a 15 cv perchè se ti sbagli con il gas quando è ripotenziata rischi abbastanza (soprattutto in sterrato). ricordati che è un 2 tempi: falla scaldare gradualmente prima di tirare, usa del buon olio miscela
