I have been using this app from just after the 2020 launch and would suggest having sub folders for airports if like me you have a lot, by country or region. It is then easy to set set up loading groups with just UK airports or just USA as an example which saves having to trawel through all the airports every time ticking which ones you want. The less you select, the faster 2024 should load.
Maybe I missed it below. There are a number of add-ons that are common to 2020 and 2024 (at least in the interim), but not all of them. What's the strategy / process to manage the ones that are in common, separate from the ones that are not in common, between 2020 and 2024 (so that they do not need to be duplicated on the drive)?
@@AviationJack I believe the simple answer to this is to point both versions of this app to a common folder structure, and enable the specific ones that work with MSFS 2024 from the 2024 app, excluding the others.
How would I move airports from 2020 over to 2024 with this process? I’m not downloading airports like you are. I have airports from mk studios that I want to move over so would I just drag and drop them into the msfs2024 scenery folder?
Thanks for the video Can we have multiple sub-diretories in Scenery folder? All my scenery airports are managed by Continents and Countries that I move in Community folder when I need them.
I cant afford a joystick but the taxiing steering is stiff for me when using a controller. I looked at the steering settings and not sure what to set it too.
Hey I would recommend just playing around with the sensitivity of the rudder until its correct. I haven't really been able to get into the sim and taxi therefore i'm not even sure on my control settings haha
Hi... I am using Addon Linker for MFS2020, what should I do to use Addon Linker for MFS2024. What are the paths to the Community folder of MFS2024? Do both versions of MSF 20 and 24 share the same Community folder? THX
Hey, you need to go back to flightsim.to and download the update to get the 2024.exe version. The community folders are different for both sims. In the description I have the path to your 2024 community folder. Hope this helps :)
@@AviationJack I updated the program by overwriting the MSFS_Addons_Linker folder with a new MSFS_Addons_Linker folder. Inside is the file for MFS2020 MSFS_AddonsLinker.exe and the other one MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024.exe I am to understand that it is for running MFS2024? Do I just need to create a shortcut on the desktop of MSFS_AddonsLinker_2024.exe and I can already use AL in MSF2024? Is that enough, or can there be one Linke addon folder for the two versions 2020 and 2024? Big THX...
How do i link official addons? I heard that the c414 is supposed to be compatible in 2024 with a patch, but it doesn't show up in the library by default yet so it needs to be added manually.
Great helpful video, but I have followed all the steps and setup 2020 with never any issues. 2024 addonLinker has got me stumped.....after following all the steps, i keep getting an error message " Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\MSFS Addons Linker 2024\Data\Tags.bin' is denied." i have checked and double check, but when i load into MSFS24....i find its making another Community folder. Any help anyone.....

Good additional information thank you very much! The region idea is a very good actually, as I have loads of scenery and have to search through it.
Very helpful, thank you - subscribed.
Thank you for your subscription!! :)
Thank you. Very helpful.
Your more then welcome!
Thank you for great tutorial. Everything works ok 👍
Amazing thanks for watching!

Hey, so I am not sure that there is a way, I have duplicated them personally :)

Looks like it’s that simple lol thanks for the video
Hey yes you were right simply just copy and paste hahah :)
Thanks for the video

Thanks!
More than welcome :)

@AviationJack yeah, the heading doesn't work either when you rotate it when autopilot is enable. I have to use the controller to steer at 38000ft.
is the community location the same for steam downloads? I dont have a .limitless file in the directory as shown
Hey I don't have the steam version so I am not too sure :)

You just tick the box next to the addon and it should turn from red to green

I would just copy and paste the folder into where it needs to go
@AviationJack I tried to add some of the missing marketplace planes but it didn't really work. I think I'll have to wait until it gets unlocked.

Hey, this is interesting. If I could think of anything (as basic as it is) just make sure your running the addon linker as administrator.
thank you
it wont let me activate it any help ?
What do you mean activate? The green circle? If so make sure you run it as administrator and your community folder is correct
