Hey Wyrm! I love Vana, the gold texture really makes her stand out, and the posing and emotion are on point. It shows she is protective of her children just by her stance. I love the idea of her mate being the manipulator of the two. I had a few name ideas for her mate: Vulcan (named after the god of fire) Tirian, Moran What if the Geiger wings win the battle, and Vana delivers her kids, but they end up dying.... and the mate blames it on the ScorchWings... would there be a war...? OR the mate isn't actually that bad.... just broken? He deeply loves Vana and wants her to be queen and deliver these eggs. So much so that he can't realize that he is manipulating her into being the bad guy. The mate is later killed by Vana's mother, (the past queen) and the geigerwings become at war with themselves. While the Scorchwings take that as a chance to strike? ORRRR: The mate/mother is in love with a ScorchWing- If the mother of Vana was secretly in love with a ScorchWing from previous years it would make sense why she doesn't want to use brutal force. Also, that could play into maybe Vana being half ScorchWing? If the mate was in love with a ScorchWing and that ScorchWing rejected him- he could be trying to get back at them? Maybe later he has a redemption arc and ends up saving Vana and the Children from that ScorchWing. Aweeee the little gremlin is getting so big- that golden was teasing him and Indys like "gimmie" as the chased each other around the yard.

I feel like now I have to make at least one character have a secret love affair with a scorchwing hahaha. I really have to think with him because he's gonna be such an important character. I love her design, the gold definitely matches her personality. Maybe in her backstory, she lost a sibling due to metal shortage or something along those lines. It would also contribute to her choice to become queen.
*dies* all jokes aside, i have an idea - I feel like the queen duels or coronation battles should be held in maybe a type of stadium. In a valley or canyon or it can be manmade! All the GierWings gather around in this stadium with an area down below. I feel like they would sing like in soccer games too. :D
I have and idea actually two srry- 1. Ghostwings- they are Webby like with,and strong armour peaice they are hard to catch and see they can go invisable. They also have and skull on their head. 2. I've had this idea- maybe she has her eggs like two or three weeks early? The deets are up to you, but here's the basics, change em if you like! She has four eggs, but one of them didn't get enough metal, and cracks and shatters only a few days being laid. The other three hatch, and inside one, are twins. One is scrawny, with pale gold eyes and a soft off white coat like her fathers, with some areas(neck, tail, feet, etc), and white-gold teeth, horns and claws. She also has smaller wings and a slightly kinked spine(not enough to hurt her. Its treatable, but will stay with her her entire life, and will prob be really uncomfortable.) The other is much larger, with no visible deformities or health issues. He's deep brown and an orangy gold accents, and a bright white skull on his fece. His horns claws and teeth are made of almost pure gold, with a little bit of iron. He's built more like his mother, made for battle. Maybe his father tries to raise him to be cunning, like himself, and a general, like his grandfather? But I would think he favorites his daughter. She can't fight, like him. She also seems to be very smart. The second egg the survived holds a single dragonet. She's a dull brown, almost gray, and has brown splotches, like a calico, or tortishell cat, with to lighter paws. She has a darker mask then her brother, but contrasts against the dark gray on her face, back and feet. Long comment, ik- I just have a lot of ideas I wanna put out there. These ideas are so so cool! You can totally keep the basics, they're yours after all! I love the idea that the metal shortage affects the siblings differently. That'll come with all kinds of drama! OOh and I imagine a queen's child having iron in his horns might feel self conscious because of that. And of course the stronger sibling could protect the weaker ones... or resent them. Either way it paves the way for fun plotlines!
Hehe thanks! It'll be fun to see you continue with the story! Also, iron is a strong metal, and it can act as an alloy with the soft gold, making it stronger! And I didn't write much about the grey one, but I imagine her as more of a leader type. Cool headed, mature, and a bit bossy. I'd imagine her and her brother go head to head sometimes. And the little sister gets plenty of attention, but no one listens to her but her mother. Could that work?
Vana’s so pretty!!! Her first colour really brought out her face, which looked a lot like she was wearing a skull but it wasn’t *as* obvious in the recolour since the wings and mane kinda take attention off of that. And oh my gosh her wings (I just thought of that) THEY ARE SO UNBELIEVABLY DETAILED THESE MIGHT BE YOUR BEST WINGS YET AHH (in my very biased opinion of course!) the shape of the wings that you draw are starting to really look so real. And I think that it’d be cool if they can kind of flare their mane to make themselves look bigger/more intimidating? In battle or when they’re scared? Like a cat

I have some sympathy for the mama to be. What she is doing is a desperate measure, and she is getting little whispers in her ear by her mate. She could have just asked the scorchwings, "Hey...um...metal, have any that could feed a whole dragon tribe for a while?" Hormones....blame it on the hormones. lol I want to see baby dragons.... Dragon idea: Could Nyx be the queen's little sister? This is why Nix is kinda willing to help. I mean these dragonets will be a part of her family now too. Baby suggestion idea: Three born. Oldest: What he lacks in height he gains in muscle and emotional fire. (he isn't significantly short but matched with other males he is more on the shorter side.) no metal sensing. Father's fav. Middle: This little girl is just like her mother, but going out hunting with Nyx, she realizes her mother's flaws, and sees what situation the Scorchwings are in. no metal sensing. future queen? Youngest= The runt, is very weak, and very small/crony , not enough metal in his egg, but enough that he lives, however he does have the metal hunting/sensing ability.

I want her to have the hardest time possible reconciling the war with the benefits of getting metal. I think it would be too easy for her to justify the war if it’s for her sisters kids. Buuut that’s just my initial feelings on it.
Here me out: Vana (at like 18 in human years) and M (M standing for mate) met during a hunting party. M slowly started to try and manipulate her into friendship. At first she dislikes him, noticing his red flags and manipulative behaviors. Slowly, she starts to fall into his manipulation. After they've been friends for some time, M uses his manipulation skills to convince her that they're in love, M seeing the benefits in being the mate of the princess. She snaps out of the trance he's put her in, but he coaxes her back into the corner he's put her in before she manages to fully realize how toxic their relationship is. That's when she starts carrying eggs and all that. This is kinda gross tbh, but it might be interesting for him to be an older dragon (30-40 years old in human years). Oh and I just wanted to mention that I've only ever managed to read the first 12 pages of the 1st wings of fire book. I don't know that much about how hunting parties, roles, etc work (I only have an idea of it bc from my understanding it's a little similar to warriors which I have read a lot of), so take everything I just said with a grain of salt lol.
Woah you’ve only read 12 pages of WoF!! That’s crazy! I do enjoy the disliking him at first idea, and not realizing she’s being manipulated! That happens a lot in real life sadly… which makes it a good thing to point out in a story
I would love to see a vid with her Mate as the focus. I can honestly see that either he befriended her and wooed her because he wanted to be able to control her and be the one "really in control" but I feel like that's a little too stereotypical. So INSTEAD, what if he's the dragonet of a prominent warrior but he himself is nowhere near as good of a fighter, so he's paired up with Vana for training in hopes that they would both benefit. At first she kicks his ass and they're at odds with one another but then he starts to put his inteligence and underhanded tactics into the training and finally wins. She's stunned and actually encourages him to continue doing his own method even if they're seen as sorta disgraceful in terms of an honorable fight. This is when they become best friends and he decides to use his skills to advise her and make sure that no one tries to go against her. It's only after the metal shortages that his own desperation leads him to start manipulating his own mate, believing that it was for the good of their eggs and their future.
omg omg omg I read this and immediately got excited. Like. I'm fidgeting now from excitement. I love the idea of their backstory. You don't even know how much I enjoy any type of "enemies to lovers" trope it's kind of ridiculous :') but anyyyway. I love the story being built!! I feel I have to add my ideas for her mate so here we go. Maybe her mate went on a mission at a young age to find metal, but that’s when the shortage had started, and they weren’t able to find any metal, causing the demise of multiple eggs and he blames himself? So he’s resorted to manipulation to make sure that his eggs won’t end up like them and he’s never told Vana because he’s ashamed and has a reputation as a excellent fighter, wanting to seem strong? (He’s still in the wrong but it’s good to give sympathy)
ahhhhh self blame mm so good. (in terms of character creation and character development of course). I like it. And I love the element of him trying to seem strong for his mate amid all the pressures and shame! Man, I feel evil saying that but. That's what makes a good story lol

hehe I like this. I have been contemplating turning warriors characters into dragons and vice versa, but I haven't thought of drawing a cat dragon. I drew one forever ago that I could compare it to in the end as well! (I could also make an unholy frankensteinian merge of warriors and wings of fire characters.... but maybe that's more of a halloween vibe XD )
okay, so what if her mother was not a great mother. like she never really wanted dragonets and only had one so she had an heir to the throne. i imagine she sometimes takes her daughter out for hunts, and includes her in formal things, but never showed much love towards her and treated her like she just lives there, never rude but not a mother. so that's why she wasn't as reluctant to fight her. she probably didn't back down though because she knew why her daughter wanted to be queen. Maybe at some point vana realizes what she is doing is wrong, but then her husband? father of her eggs? takes over. imprisoning the queen and pretending she is sick, almost like princess greatness in the dark secret. nyx and a gang of some allies would confront the queen, only to discover who the real culprit is. anyway i hope you like this, i too love to write :)
I got idea about scorch wing tribe there should a advisor who is next to the queen and can see into the future a bit because on description it's said some of them can see into the future

Here me out:
Vana (at like 18 in human years) and M (M standing for mate) met during a hunting party. M slowly started to try and manipulate her into friendship. At first she dislikes him, noticing his red flags and manipulative behaviors. Slowly, she starts to fall into his manipulation. After they've been friends for some time, M uses his manipulation skills to convince her that they're in love, M seeing the benefits in being the mate of the princess. She snaps out of the trance he's put her in, but he coaxes her back into the corner he's put her in before she manages to fully realize how toxic their relationship is. That's when she starts carrying eggs and all that.
This is kinda gross tbh, but it might be interesting for him to be an older dragon (30-40 years old in human years).
Oh and I just wanted to mention that I've only ever managed to read the first 12 pages of the 1st wings of fire book. I don't know that much about how hunting parties, roles, etc work (I only have an idea of it bc from my understanding it's a little similar to warriors which I have read a lot of), so take everything I just said with a grain of salt lol.
Woah you’ve only read 12 pages of WoF!! That’s crazy! I do enjoy the disliking him at first idea, and not realizing she’s being manipulated! That happens a lot in real life sadly… which makes it a good thing to point out in a story

I would love to see a vid with her Mate as the focus. I can honestly see that either he befriended her and wooed her because he wanted to be able to control her and be the one "really in control" but I feel like that's a little too stereotypical. So INSTEAD, what if he's the dragonet of a prominent warrior but he himself is nowhere near as good of a fighter, so he's paired up with Vana for training in hopes that they would both benefit. At first she kicks his ass and they're at odds with one another but then he starts to put his inteligence and underhanded tactics into the training and finally wins. She's stunned and actually encourages him to continue doing his own method even if they're seen as sorta disgraceful in terms of an honorable fight. This is when they become best friends and he decides to use his skills to advise her and make sure that no one tries to go against her. It's only after the metal shortages that his own desperation leads him to start manipulating his own mate, believing that it was for the good of their eggs and their future.
omg omg omg I read this and immediately got excited. Like. I'm fidgeting now from excitement. I love the idea of their backstory. You don't even know how much I enjoy any type of "enemies to lovers" trope it's kind of ridiculous :') but anyyyway. I love this so much and now I have to figure out how to add stuff to his story so I don't feel like I'm plagiarizing you!

I have some tutorials up but most are relatively old. I do have a dragon anatomy video that's more recent though! And people have been asking for a coloring/painting tutorial so I definitely have that on my list to make soon!
I love the story being built!! I feel I have to add my ideas for her mate so here we go.
Maybe her mate went on a mission at a young age to find metal, but that’s when the shortage had started, and they weren’t able to find any metal, causing the demise of multiple eggs and he blames himself? So he’s resorted to manipulation to make sure that his eggs won’t end up like them and he’s never told Vana because he’s ashamed and has a reputation as a excellent fighter, wanting to seem strong? (He’s still in the wrong but it’s good to give sympathy)
ahhhhh self blame mm so good. (in terms of character creation and character development of course). I like it. And I love the element of him trying to seem strong for his mate amid all the pressures and shame! Man, I feel evil saying that but. That's what makes a good story lol

hehe I like this. I have been contemplating turning warriors characters into dragons and vice versa, but I haven't thought of drawing a cat dragon. I drew one forever ago that I could compare it to in the end as well! (I could also make an unholy frankensteinian merge of warriors and wings of fire characters.... but maybe that's more of a halloween vibe XD )
okay, so what if her mother was not a great mother. like she never really wanted dragonets and only had one so she had an heir to the throne. i imagine she sometimes takes her daughter out for hunts, and includes her in formal things, but never showed much love towards her and treated her like she just lives there, never rude but not a mother. so that's why she wasn't as reluctant to fight her. she probably didn't back down though because she knew why her daughter wanted to be queen.
Maybe at some point vana realizes what she is doing is wrong, but then her husband? father of her eggs? takes over. imprisoning the queen and pretending she is sick, almost like princess greatness in the dark secret. nyx and a gang of some allies would confront the queen, only to discover who the real culprit is.
anyway i hope you like this, i too love to write :)

Yes! They have some color variation. Like GeierWings can be a variety of warm colors and TideWings are a variety of cool colors!

I got idea about scorch wing tribe there should a advisor who is next to the queen and can see into the future a bit because on description it's said some of them can see into the future
