- Hi friends, here is the third installment in our speculative biology series (aka dracozoology) with a pretty interesting dragon: the dendrodrekis. Let me know what you think of this guy! Feel free to make your own species of dendrodrekis, or any dragon you think would be native to Thera, and let me know if you have any suggestions to make these dragons even cooler!

Oh that’s so nice to hear! I would post more often I just don’t have time 😅. I’m almost ready with my next video though! A sketching process video sounds like a really good idea especially for times when I’m really busy!
The wings of fire books do talk about some kind of photosynthesis for RainWings. In the third book when they go to the rainforest a RainWing comment on Glory’s dull scales and this is because RainWings scales are kind of energized by the sun making them look vibrant.
Ahh yess I remember (I thought it was so funny that all the rainwings were like dang you don't look so good compared to the non rainwings who thought she looked so pretty)
I could definitely image these cuties sleeping in flower pots (if they ever sleep?). so adorable!!

Ok, RainWings don't explicitly use photosynthesis but they do eat less than other dragons and might be able to photosynthize as a supplement to other things. The books do say that the more time spent in the sun the more colorful and happier RainWings are. It also improves their camouflage/Color Change abilities. I think that Jambu was horrified when he heard that Glory hadn't seen the sun in her whole life, and Starlight made a face like so many things about Glory's personality made sense. I think sunlight for them is like the MudWings with mud in that it's more like vitamins but they can live without it.
Omg yes vitamins!!! I think that’s exactly right. Like even humans need sunlight to make certain vitamins etc. so it makes sense for dragons too

Oh my gosh yes me too! Lil pet plant dragon~ probably wouldn’t be as high maintenance as a normal pet dragon 😅

What a lovely, chill, awesome and informative video. ^^ As for other kind of plant dragons, the ones jumping into my mind are like jungle plants, like a pitcher plant or plants with mimicry.

*steals idea aesthetically* jk but fr tho it’s so cool and I love how you gave them some lore behind why they photosynthesise. I have had a sort of similar idea fro dragons like this before and I’ve sort of made my own dragon species with that leaf tail and neck frill and little leaf antenna looking things. I love ur art style it looks so nice and keep up the series, I love it

@@abookwyrmdrawstbh for both kinda they eat and drink like normal dragons but when they’re low on food or energy they will sun themselves for an extra boost, they are stronger at day and weaker at night, uhh and that’s mostly it but I think I might fuse them with a snake like tribe I’ve been tryna make for a while that’s lives in an Amazon type habitat. Similar traits to poison wings from wings of fire. I can never draw the eir faces very snakelike or the snake hood very well tho lmao
