What's really impressive is, I'm currently looking at purchasing these speakers. What makes your review better then anyone else's is: You literally showed the same Logitech 2.1 system I have (that after 14ish years finally went bad) and said these are better. So, thank you for that.
No problem, you will really appreciate how much better these are over the old Logitech system. Thanks for watching!
@@Allkindsofstuff I also have that exact same speaker set, from around 2005-ish I want to say, and that basically sold me on this new set, as well. Thank you for your video!
Thought your office was bad ass
Until I seen your wires 😂
Work on that cable management
hahaha .... was shocked too. lol
Never. Chads let their cables flow freely
Just got some of these last night and wow!! I wasn't expecting the sound that comes from these little bad boys! I'm a bass head so I love them!
Has the sub blown yet?
yeah that little promedia sub is really something, it digs deep especially for it's size and price
@@stephenschneider2171 nope
@Carew Martin it really does man
Just picked up the system at Costco for $99 bucks. What a deal! Walked into Costco for food shopping... came out with the Klipsch 2.1!
Bought them for $89 yesterday from Costco.
Yeah, Tony, Costco does that to you. I saw them yesterday, although I didn't need them, because I have Altec Lansing's for the computer. I went back and grabbed a set today, thinking that I could use them as a compact alternative two a normal setup for the TV.
Costco makes you buy stuff on impulse. I got them today for $89.
@@TheLifetraveler1 Good for you, $89 bucks is even a better deal! Spotted them today at that price at Costco. Really can't beat the quality at that price point. Be well!
Picked up mine at Costco too. Great deal. But I keep reading about a low hum or buzz that starts to emit from these speakers over time plus there’s no on or off switch. That’s a problem if you don’t want that constant light on or the waste of electricity.
@@greogesnote8507 Hey, I found the low level hissing sound when I first hooked up the Klipsch as well. I thought it was similar to the 60hz frequency, generated in the various electrical wires that go into my electronics. So I re-routed the audio input cable away from the power lines and noticed the sound diminish. Then I tried connecting different electronics to it, to see how they sounded. With my cellphone connected to it, playing music, I still had a little bit of a hiss sound. Yet when I connected my tablet to it and played sound, there little bit of low level noise disappeared totally.
As for the light, it didn't bother me that much. Because I have some 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers on my computer, that I've had for at least 10 years. They have no OFF button either and have basically been on continuously all that time. Remember, unless the speaker are actually generating sound, they consumer only a tiny amount of electricity. As for the light on the Klipsch, since it is attached to a bedroom TV and can be quite bright. I just put a little piece of blue tape on it and now I don't notice it at all.
I had wanted these speakers for years. When I found them at Costco I was thrilled. When they went on sale I jumped at the opportunity. They sound tremendous. The one issue was the power knob. I put my satellites as far apart as possible so getting up to turn them on and off would be inconvenient. I borrowed a tip from a youtube review. I plugged them into a power strip I put close by and just turn the power on and off with it. I can control the volume from my keyboard so it works out perfectly. Great speakers.
I love these speakers , they offer solid acoustic performance. Seems like several big retailers are selling these now, like Costco and Walmart. Definitely worth $89.99 sale price you can find out there!
The latest model with bluetooth also does not have a power switch? I am interested in buying them. Thanks.
Klipsch doesn't want you to turn them off though, that's why there's no power button
I bought this system at Walmart for $69
Dude yes!!!! I got these 3 months ago for 100$ at Walmart
Never thought I’d see klipsch at Walmart but they started stocking klipsch the one stereos , klipsch soundbars and these bad boys!
They blew me away for sure 👌😌
The best computer speaker I ever had.
Are they still working good ? I am interested in buying them
it does not matter where you point the sub to, it will sound the same. Sub frecuencies are omnidirectional.
I just got them, sound great, but no on- off switch?
Exactly my issue! How could that have been missed?
So led light is always on right? How weird
Dude you need to spend a day and do some serious wire management
cable management FAIL
My 20 yr old Logitech z5500 system is at its end and this Klipsch system looks pretty good. While downgrading, it appears that it isn't a drastic change. Hoping to get at least half the years as I did with the Logitech system. Thanks for sharing your video.
these a great got lucky and found them at walmart on rollback for 40$ i like them better then my logitech z623 that i payed 150$ for
Damn, are you a salesman? Because you just sold me this deal!
Thanks in the past, I did sell home electronics and audio equipment at Video Only for 10 years.
Costco has them now for $89
@@Allkindsofstuff Not to be the grammar teacher, but you should move that comma from behind "past" to behind "Thanks"
Very good video thinking of getting these I just susbscribed very good sound excellent
Costco has it for 99.00 now. Just picked it up. Can you turn off the lite on the main speaker?
I brought it too and then costco issued me a refund about a week later stating none in inventory..😒
you cannot turn off the light if you haven't already figured that out
Bro thank for this comment i didnt even think about looking for it at Costco
@@anthonylovenberg8250 how? Died that turn off speakers also?
That moment when the thing of your childhood nightmares have some of the best speakers on the market
@Sage Alfred you sound like a keeper for a boyfriend ;)

Are they still working good ? Thinking about buying them
These things even blow out some bookshelf setup / had my for over 10years.. none better.. for price
Same
Yes, these are well worth the money. Solid performance. Just wish they had an on and off switch!
do you keep them on 24/7 or do you unplug it when ur not using it?
@@carlos-we1uy i have them plugged for years.. lol.. painted the green light black... the early models had a off switch.. dont know why..
how do you turn them off and on?
P.S. One thing i hated about these is the lack of a power on/off switch, and the power light is always on no matter what.
yep
Is the light super bright in the dark? I can’t sleep with bright lights
but you gotta ditch the xfinity modem man. holy shit that thing is huge. buy your own docsis modem and tell comcast to provision it, and take that hunk of junk back. Save some money while you are at it because you wont have to rent any more
I do have a Docsis 3.1 Motorola modem. Xfinity gave me a 30 dollar discount for 12 months to use their modem. That discount just ended so I will be sending it back and plugging in my other modem.
They usually run $299.00 in Canada - but found them for $199.99 on Amazon (new)! Ordered them immediately! Be here in two weeks!
You will love them. They sound great!
got this for my bithday made in china im disappointed was gona look in on 7.2 that china sticker changed my mind is all klispch made by china
Even the most prestigious brands and manufactured in China. The most expensive cell phones, like Apple. That is just how it is these days!
Is it me, or is it a pain not having an on-off switch?
I read someone mention they got around the issue with a smart plug but that still involves a vocal "hey alexa". I assume the alternative is a "wireless socket" or a power strip but all options seem inconvenient.
Your cable cluster gave me covid
Lol, The funny thing is with my desk is it used to be in the center of the room. I came home one day and my wife had moved it against the wall. I have just been too lazy to pull it back out and manage all the cables because it’s very heavy. I got a good laugh from your comment, thank you.
Thank you for the video . I wish they would make newer versions.
They Don't need to, My Klipsch Home theater speakers are almost 20 years old and every New Update in Tech that manufactures offer in PreAmps make these speakers shine even more
You explained exactly what I was trying to find out! Thanks a bunch
Yikes. $170?
Got mine directly from Klipsch for $99.
Get a can of DeoxIT for the volume conrols...you'll thank me later.
Gen 1 is way better sound and quality. Gen 1 has a power on/off button on the sub. (ProMedia V2.1)
Recommending these to somebody with a ATLP 60 turntable since it has the connector 3.5 definitely heard good things and it even got some of these for somebody for their TV and some mounts
Is it worth getting for the lp60. My local walmart has these on sale for $99
My Klipsch pro media 2.1 are going out- the bass works but the speakers go out then come back on then go back out
This seems to be a widespread problem for Klipsch
What is Klipsch doing about this?
DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK!!! these speakers SUCK. I made the mistake of buying them. in five months the left side quit working. For no reason. My altec lansing were soooo much better. sounder better with rich deep bass. thx sounds tinny and so lacks the bass punch altec lansing did.. They are better than say, creative. I was disappointed when I first hooked them up and really mad that one quit working. And after reading, seems the amp going bad is a very common problem. then klipsch gives directions on how to take their product apart, ARE THEY ON DRUGS?!. I did not build them i bought them. i dont want an electronics crash coarse class. and dont want garbage that will break 4 no cause. DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!
used this since 2009
I was somehow sent the THX 2.1 instead of the new bluetooth 2.0. Besides the lack of bluetooth, I know it's a lot better. I'm curious if the one with the white LED is the newer version? I see most of the other reviews have the one with the green LED.
I have the logitech z623 (old edition) or some similar piece o'shit setup. Was wondering if this is worth the upgrade... I mainly care about sound quality through headphones but wouldn't mind having a decent speaker setup either
My faithful logitech speakers just died the other day, I'll definitely be going with these!
Let me know what you think! I still love these speaker after over a year of ownership!
Wait. No mention of the absence of an On/Off switch? No mention of the Power consumption? Dude. :( Let me guess, these are German, right?
Good lord i have these since 2004 and i still rock these !
Is it good for bass. I have a Harmon Kardon HK395.
Mine blew in a month.
Ouch. Sorry to hear about that. Mine have been perfect so far without any issues. Hopefully you were able to get a new set under the manufactures warranty.
I have an old version that has a bluetooth chip inside. I need to upgrade, does this new model have bluetooth?
No Bluetooth, has a 3.5mm input that is all!
@@Allkindsofstuff ...Okay Thank you for your response.
Really need to take it step by step and show the connections both ways.
I realize this video is old. However, I am looking to hook up sound from my PS5 (via a 3.5mm from the monitor that my PS5 is hooked up to) and I also want to be able to have it hooked up to my PC via a 3.5mm cable. I do not want to be able to play sounds from both at the same time. I want to avoid having to unplug the 3.5 cable from the PS5 to play sound from my PC and vice versa. I know that's not a monumental task to unplug that cable each time, but I want to avoid the fatigue and weardown that the parts will experience from being plugged and unplugged multiple times per day. Can someone recommend a good switch (one that will accept two different 3.5mm and flow it to the one Klipsch system)? I just need something simple/basic. I don't want to have to load software or replace soundcards etc. etc. Thanks in advance.
LOL WTF I've been on that DYNO MANY TIMES HAHAHA WTFFFFFFFFFFFF what are the odds of that? I am at English Racing right now setting up some Pro Media 2.1' speakers. Crazy.
I think I'm going to get these to replace my Logitech Z313 and give them to my son for his HP gaming pc
I think he will love them. They are awesome. I watch movies on the computer sometimes because they sound so good!
I was just thinking of doing the same thing, except I will be giving my Z313 to my girlfriend.
$70 costco, only cons is that you can't turn it off, 16 watt idle power draw, no remote for tv use, only analog controls.
£150 at uk version of Costco...😔
Nice you tube video you made, I went ahead and purchased on Amazon $120.00 for the set. I hook everything up and guess what? This speaker system does not have a power On/Off switch, What up with that Klipsch? they will be forever on? Other than that they sound good.
Yeah, you would think the speaker system would have a power on off. I do notice that when the system is off the subwoofer is cool to the touch. When the system is on, the sub heats up. I believe that the system has input auto power on/off based on that. I could not verify this on the Klipsch website however!
No power switch...LOL
Thanks for doing a review on these. I happened to go into Costco today and these speakers were just $89, so I jumped a bought a pair, since you said they were so good. Thanks,
I saw you comment and for $89.99 no brainer to just bought some as well, ty for mentioning that sale!
It's a great review which is why I am asking my question on it. I viewed the video to see if I was doing anything wrong with my connections.
God - I wish we could get prices like that in Canada!! Normally $299.00 - but found them for $199.00 new! Bought them right away!!
@@lesmatthews459 The funny thing is purchased them to attached to a tv in one of the bedrooms. But it would never work. Finally figured out that the audio jacks on the back of the TV were (audio IN) and not audio OUT. Thought about taking them back, then realized $89 was too good of a deal. So I will use them to replace some 10 year old Altec Lansing speakers, 2.1, that I have on my desktop. Although the Altec Lansings are still working fine.
My new unit buzzes very loud when I shut the laptop down. Only way to stop it is turn the volume to zero on the speaker or unlug the 3.5mm plug. Oh and NO BLUTOOTH... Damn
Does one need an amplifier to operate this system?
No amp is required, power supply is built into the subwoofer!
@@Allkindsofstuff Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Costco had them on sale for 79.99 dollars. I've never had nice speakers before. And I am over 50.
Disappointing, Had to return mine, they just didn't work, no sound from the onboard realtek sound card. Yes the realtek is functioning properly, not so much klipsch!
hey I bought the same speakers .everything works fine except subwoofer has no power
Looking at this and Edifier USA 2.1 Speaker System (M3200)
Will those work with a MSI computer monitor that has a 3.5 mm jack ?
Yes, they have a 3.5mm audio input! Will work just fine with your monitor.
Thank you 😊
I first bought my Klipsch Pro-Media at Best Buy 2 years ago for $149.00 and they are awesome even today...Best sounding desktop speakers I have heard and for their price back then...I just bought another box Klipsch Pro-media at Costco for a limit run of $99.00 same as yours that are a slight difference than my other ones...I noticed the speakers dust caps are different but I would think same sound quality just appearance...Also the pre-amp "in" has changed from the din socket to a PC type connector with tighteners on the ends....You said you paid $170 ish on Amazon? wow think you paid too much but all depends on the sellers on there...Love Klipsch speakers as I do my home theater...
Hell yeah, well said!
Just picked up mine at Costco for the $100. I've been wanting these since my one friend had them back in 2005.
@@darkmaer How's the bass?
@@patrickpicansoiv9938 For me, It's perfect. I don't like overbearing bass. So if you have it at the location that they have marked as optimum It does good at enhancing the sound, but not making it the primary focus. My Costco had a demo station. If you have a local Costco you can see if they have a demo station to check out.
My PC has three 3.5 mm outputs on the rear (one front l/r; one rear l/r, and one lfe/center. It also has headphone Jack in front. Which output(s) do I use? Thanks.
Can I use this setup without attaching to a computer? Say I wana set them up JUST for plugging a phone into and playing music. Is this possible? Or does the computer preamp power it? Any help would be greatly appreciated
Yes, you can plug these into any audio source that has a 3.5mm mini plug or headphone jack.
On Off SWITCH?
Got them as an early birthday present nd they slappp 🔥
What audio drivers does your computer have? Just got them as a gift too and they sound a bit tinny and has lots of treble. I have to set my sub to max to hear the bass clearly.
@@riceu6693 i actually dont kno i think its a realtek audio driver but my Sub is ticked to the white line and as a bass head its pretty loud at low volume. You probably have a faulty unit, try checking it with a mobile device with a 3.5mm audio jack
@@dracofnwraco alright I'll try that if it gets to that point. Thank you. Also, I did some experimenting in the Equalizer and updated my driver's to realtek hd audio and the speakers plus the sub both sound well (my sub is ticked at the white line). Though, my sub doesn't emit any vibration (windows volume is around 15 and speaker volume is maybe 20%). Does your sub shake/vibrate?
I have a Crosshair Hero 8 wifi, sound is integrated with the motherboard. You should be able to adjust you EQ settings on your computer to change the sound frequencies. Good luck!
wish to hear these first before purchasing. I have atm logitech z625 , I like their bass but I dont like at all speakers itself, they totally lacking high range, sounds stuffy or so
Yeah, you will have to do a sound demo on these. My Logitech speakers were lacking the high frequency effects as well. The tweeters on the Klipsh do a great job. Hit the clear high frequency range, but not to bright like a metal tweeter or aluminum dome tweeter. let me know what you think!
i think the older series was better the wires look cheap on this version see why there 60 dollars but hey id buy it its money saving for the same sound quality
Do you think these are powerful enough for a small apartment / house party? Vs just a normal Bluetooth speaker
Is it good for music production?
It's absolutely an outlier in sound quality at this price range. I think it is at $500 level
FYI.. no power button... leave this on all the time if you don't care about your pg&e bill.
I just ordered these at Walmart for about $77 with taxes after apply a gift card. I've been using a Google Home Max as my PC speaker for about 3 years, but decided to get some speakers actually designed for the job. Hoping it's an upgrade, the Max is still the best sounding non-Sonos smart speaker, haha.
It’s really good I just got some and they are amazing
Watching with these speakers. Got them on Amazon yesterday for $108. Sounds great hooked to my Dragonfly Red.
Lmao that’s the exact same setup i have
nice review, would have liked to see longer and louder and experience the fullness of the bass from your vid, but i will say that i picked up mine from wal mart for 99usd and not on sale and i have to say I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED the bass hits hard, can handle low notes also but i like the solid bass and listen to a lot of edm and have yet to be dissappointed by this 2.1 system....
Is this better than. Harmon Kardon hk395?
Man u looking to get electrocuted with them wires like that
Wish me luck, I have not been shocked yet!
There was a recent Realtek drive update. Since then, these speakers now sound tinny, and there doesn't seem to be any umph coming out of the subwoofer. Is there any software that can be installed on Windows 10 to help manage the sound? Equalizer ? It just seems to suddenly be a bit lack luster. Thanks much for any advice.
My guess would be a defective subwoofer. Sometimes that stuff happens, I would go exchange them for another set if possible. Good luck!
Thanks..That is what I'm beginning to think also. I bought the system from Costco about a year or a little more ago. Looks like I might be stuck with a sour lemon. :(
Set location to Europe. USA etc have a strict volume limit, in the eu you can disable it by law. Or buy a headphone amp.
These are $80 at Walmart. Have been for a while
How do you power it off?

@@guyinboca Thank you much appreciated, but the issue I think I’m having is that I read an article that said it’s not good to power off that system because it can blow it out in a sense? When you do power it off and have it turned up, you can hear a loud shut off sound, like a pop
our walmart marked em for 60 wander if i couldve got it for that price if i didnt tell em what they were worth
how you turn them off or on it has a knob to do it? thanks
I tested these against a set of Logitech Z625 and the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 TXH were more superior
These are the best computer speakers I have ever had. They stack up to a home theater speaker system in my opinion.
Can they be turned off? I have heard the sub puts out a lot of heat. Plus the electrical use all the time.
I've had my Klipsch for about 10 years and it sounds great! I've been using a remote outlet similar to this one. I keep it by laptop and it works perfectly for me! www.dewenwils.com/products/remote-control/remote-control-outlets/hrs101g.html
There is no specific off button. I have not noticed any heat coming from the subwoofer. I usually keep my feet on top of the sub under the desk and I don't feel any sense of warmth.
My brother recommended me these. Great content and video. What do you use to edit? DaVinci?
Yeah, I use DaVinci Resolve to edit. Just the free version still. I have not found any reason to pay for the premium version yet.
Do these speakers have an off on button? Because I can't find it. Thanks
is it safe to use a pc equalizer on these speakers will it ruin the speaker
Love mine, amazing value for the price. I’ve been rocking mine on and off since 2017 and still recommend them. But how do you put them in pairing mode?
Click on the volume knob
I need to know how to turn them off. Do I need to buy an extra power strip to turn them off.
Two words. Cable. Management. Get some.
Pity only supports 120v
What does preamp connect to?
haha these sell now at walmart for under 100
you kmow those speakers came out in 2001 that is 22 years old
How much you can give out of .. /10?
I would give them an 8 out of 10. I am very impressed with the sound performance and build quality. Only two short comings are no power on off switch and the volume control is far to sensitive. You barley turn the volume knob up and the speakers get really loud. Makes it hard to get the perfect low sound level late at night or early morning when your not trying to wake the family up. But overall, I love the computer speaker system. It packs a home theater system sound quality and brings it to your PC. I would def still buy these and recommend these.
Million thanks... 👍
Awesome speakers!! On sale at Costco for $89 right now.
this system also have bluetooth adapter which is not mentioned.
someone help me please these speakers sound horrible when plugged in to my laptop, there is no base at all coming from the sub, but when i plug these speakers in to my phone they sound amazing. why is this happening?
I wonder if the 3.5mm output on your labtop has low voltage and minimal output. I would also try going into the sound/audio settings in your computer and configure the 3.5mm audio output settings! Good luck!
Go online and find a windows compatible program, that will give you more control over your sound. Unless you have an expensive laptop, speakers can only do so much to improve the sound, other than make a bad originating sound louder.
I just picked up a set of the BT version for 64$ on clearance at wally world
I am using this for my television to hear with headphones. This is the second set up I've had but I can't get this one to work right. I just got the same exact set and I have everything hooked up the way you do. I then hooked up my headphones to the headphone jack and the audio out jack is connected to my TV with an adapter that Connects to the red and white audio out jacks. I verified that the speaker system works fine without connecting my headphones. Do you have any suggestions please? I can't watch TV without headphones.
Ha, 'the audio out jack, on the small speaker itself? If that is what you are saying you?
You might have it wrong! The 'grey' mini-plug that comes from the back of the 'small' speaker that has the controls. IT goes into the back of your TV and it connected to the audio out port. If your TV itself doesn't have its audio out as a mini-plug, then you just need a Y adapter cable to take the left and right stereo ports and and convert them to a mini-plug port.
The connectors of the 'front of the speaker are for headphones (1) and the other for other music sources like a cellphone.
I don't see a gray mini plug. Where exactly is it?
The green audio out jack from the satellite speaker that has the knobs on it is connected to my TV with a Y adapter that connects to the red and white audio out jacks on my TV.
My headphones are connected to the headphone jack on the satellite speaker with the knobs on it. There is no sound when I am trying to watch TV with the headphones. I verified that the headphones are working properly.
I really hope you can help me with this, thelifetraveler1.
Wish we could post pictures because I took pictures of everything - all the connections, all the results of not having any sound with the TV speakers off and the TV volume setting to 100% while my headphones are connected and I try the knobs in various positions including Max. The sound is very very low at max.
I love dumpster diving and recently i found a dump full of returns all from Costco and found 6 sets of these speakers all in the box still but open boxes or damage box but items inside still wrapped in plastic also found 5 12inch subwoofers klipsch and many other new items wow you'll be surprised what's thrown into garbage so many new items that people opened box didn't want or need no more and just returned them, cause they change their minds
So how do you power the woofer without the other 2 table top speakers
Is there an off & on button or does the light stays on?
doesnt matter....they are well worth the price...i used to buy these when they cose like 200$ + back in like 2010 -2012
There is no power on/off. That is the only draw back of this system. When not in use I notice the subwoofer is cool, while in operation I it gets warm. I believe the system has some type of auto power save. Klipsch does not list anything about it on the website, I did check!
@@Allkindsofstuff Thanks.......
Mine arrive tomorrow, can't wait. I'm a big Klipsch fan. I just recently bought the cinema 600 3.1 soundbar for my TV, and it's fantastic but maybe a bit overkill for my one bedroom apartment. Now I'm getting these for my computer, but I wonder if these would've been good enough for my TV as well lol. Oh well, now I'll have all the sound, and my neighbors will hate me haha
I think you will love these. And yes these would be capable of easily running as a sound system for your tv if you don't mind getting up to set the volume. They have plenty of sound output.
$69 At Walmart. couldnt pass that up
