Picked up mine at Costco too. Great deal. But I keep reading about a low hum or buzz that starts to emit from these speakers over time plus there’s no on or off switch. That’s a problem if you don’t want that constant light on or the waste of electricity.
@@greogesnote8507 Hey, I found the low level hissing sound when I first hooked up the Klipsch as well. I thought it was similar to the 60hz frequency, generated in the various electrical wires that go into my electronics. So I re-routed the audio input cable away from the power lines and noticed the sound diminish. Then I tried connecting different electronics to it, to see how they sounded. With my cellphone connected to it, playing music, I still had a little bit of a hiss sound. Yet when I connected my tablet to it and played sound, there little bit of low level noise disappeared totally. As for the light, it didn't bother me that much. Because I have some 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers on my computer, that I've had for at least 10 years. They have no OFF button either and have basically been on continuously all that time. I had wanted these speakers for years. When I found them at Costco I was thrilled. When they went on sale I jumped at the opportunity. They sound tremendous. The one issue was the power knob. Hello, thank you so much for this video. This is the first speaker system I've ever owned so this greatly helped in setting everything up. To be honest, I initially thought the soldered wires that connect to the subwoofer were just broken cables so I almost was going to return them, but then I found this video. Also, for the preamp input cable at 3:19, is it ok if the screws are not going all the way in?
There is no power on/off. That is the only draw back of this system. When not in use I notice the subwoofer is cool, while in operation I it gets warm. I believe the system has some type of auto power save. Klipsch does not list anything about it on the website, I did check!

My PC has three 3.5 mm outputs on the rear (one front l/r; one rear l/r, and one lfe/center. It also has headphone Jack in front. Which output(s) do I use? Thanks.
I just ordered these at Walmart for about $77 with taxes after apply a gift card. I've been using a Google Home Max as my PC speaker for about 3 years, but decided to get some speakers actually designed for the job. Hoping it's an upgrade, the Max is still the best sounding non-Sonos smart speaker, haha.
I would say these should have enough output for that. My father-in-law has the same set and we are brings them out in the summer for barbecues, they sound awesome.
I've been using a pair of these for almost two years but I'm trashing them because either on their own, or with me practicing guitar to them (using various smaller amps I have here) at sometimes higher volumes (but never near max.), I think the right satellite speaker blew out a bit. Something sure did. The bass still seems fine but the right sat. is blown for sure a bit. I've heard other people complain they died pretty soon even at moderate sound levels. The quality isn't great. They did sound great before just recently. I'm replacing them with some Logitech 2.1 623s or whatever it is, (400 watt ones) and hoping they last longer. I have to watch my output levels since I don't want to blow the new ones.
I was somehow sent the THX 2.1 instead of the new bluetooth 2.0. Besides the lack of bluetooth, I know it's a lot better. I'm curious if the one with the white LED is the newer version? I see most of the other reviews have the one with the green LED.
The speaker system has one connected into it already. Just plug that in to the back of your computer. Or if your talking about the aux jack, you cant order a 3.5mm audio cable from Amazon.
@@Allkindsofstuff lol ok.when i bought it i get crazy looking for that cable and was integrated in the left speaker lol...my bad! Theres no power on/off in this speakers right??
@@chemaprohd1565 Yeah, no power on/off switch. Only flaw with system. I think the system power has an auto on/off function based in the 3.5mm signal input. I notice when I power up my pc the subwoofer is cold in the morning. It get warm after I turn the computer on again. I use the subwoofer to kick my feet up on. I could not find this on the Klipsch, but this is my guess on how the system works!
My Klipsch pro media 2.1 are going out- the bass works but the speakers go out then come back on then go back out This seems to be a widespread problem for Klipsch What is Klipsch doing about this?
I read someone mention they got around the issue with a smart plug but that still involves a vocal "hey alexa". I assume the alternative is a "wireless socket" or a power strip but all options seem inconvenient.
There was a recent Realtek drive update. Since then, these speakers now sound tinny, and there doesn't seem to be any umph coming out of the subwoofer. Is there any software that can be installed on Windows 10 to help manage the sound? Equalizer ? It just seems to suddenly be a bit lack luster. Thanks much for any advice.
Thanks..That is what I'm beginning to think also. I bought the system from Costco about a year or a little more ago. Looks like I might be stuck with a sour lemon. :(
I am using this for my television to hear with headphones. This is the second set up I've had but I can't get this one to work right. I just got the same exact set and I have everything hooked up the way you do. I then hooked up my headphones to the headphone jack and the audio out jack is connected to my TV with an adapter that Connects to the red and white audio out jacks. I verified that the speaker system works fine without connecting my headphones. Do you have any suggestions please? I can't watch TV without headphones.
Ha, 'the audio out jack, on the small speaker itself? If that is what you are saying you? You might have it wrong! The 'grey' mini-plug that comes from the back of the 'small' speaker that has the controls. IT goes into the back of your TV and it connected to the audio out port. If your TV itself doesn't have its audio out as a mini-plug, then you just need a Y adapter cable to take the left and right stereo ports and and convert them to a mini-plug port. The connectors of the 'front of the speaker are for headphones (1) and the other for other music sources like a cellphone.
I don't see a gray mini plug. Where exactly is it? The green audio out jack from the satellite speaker that has the knobs on it is connected to my TV with a Y adapter that connects to the red and white audio out jacks on my TV. My headphones are connected to the headphone jack on the satellite speaker with the knobs on it. There is no sound when I am trying to watch TV with the headphones. I verified that the headphones are working properly. I really hope you can help me with this, thelifetraveler1. Wish we could post pictures because I took pictures of everything - all the connections, all the results of not having any sound with the TV speakers off and the TV volume setting to 100% while my headphones are connected and I try the knobs in various positions including Max. The sound is very very low at max.
Love mine, amazing value for the price. I’ve been rocking mine on and off since 2017 and still recommend them. But how do you put them in pairing mode?
How's the power draw on these? It's always on. Can I plug this in to a power strip and turn it on/off from there. Just concerned about it using power when I'm not using it.
Hey there, I have Altec Lansings from more than 10 years ago. Same setup, they stay on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, unless there is a power outage. They do not DRAW much power at all, except for when they are playing sound. Even then playing they use very little power. My Altec's are still stellar, so I purchased the Klipsch at Costco, to attach to a smaller TV without a lot of desk space. They were on sale at Costco for $89 today. You might be able to get a price match, if you bought them from somewhere else. Amazon has them for $146, right at this moment.
You shouldn't hear the case. It's ported to balance those vibrations (also rubber feet/spikes). give the port a clear view to your wall and it should fill the room a bit with the reverb

Costco has it for 99.00 now. Just picked it up. Can you turn off the lite on the main speaker?
I brought it too and then costco issued me a refund about a week later stating none in inventory..😒
you cannot turn off the light if you haven't already figured that out
Bro thank for this comment i didnt even think about looking for it at Costco
@@anthonylovenberg8250 how? Died that turn off speakers also?
Damn, are you a salesman? Because you just sold me this deal!
Thanks in the past, I did sell home electronics and audio equipment at Video Only for 10 years.
Costco has them now for $89

how do you turn them off and on?
These things even blow out some bookshelf setup / had my for over 10years.. none better.. for price

Yes, these are well worth the money. Solid performance. Just wish they had an on and off switch!
do you keep them on 24/7 or do you unplug it when ur not using it?
@@carlos-we1uy i have them plugged for years.. lol.. painted the green light black... the early models had a off switch.. dont know why..
Recommending these to somebody with a ATLP 60 turntable since it has the connector 3.5 definitely heard good things and it even got some of these for somebody for their TV and some mounts
Is it worth getting for the lp60. My local walmart has these on sale for $99
Excellent review!! I do that thing with the wire connectors too lol. 👍
I first bought my Klipsch Pro-Media at Best Buy 2 years ago for $149.00 and they are awesome even today...Best sounding desktop speakers I have heard and for their price back then...I just bought another box Klipsch Pro-media at Costco for a limit run of $99.00 same as yours that are a slight difference than my other ones...I noticed the speakers dust caps are different but I would think same sound quality just appearance...Also the pre-amp "in" has changed from the din socket to a PC type connector with tighteners on the ends....You said you paid $170 ish on Amazon? wow think you paid too much but all depends on the sellers on there...Love Klipsch speakers as I do my home theater...
Hell yeah, well said!
Just picked up mine at Costco for the $100. I've been wanting these since my one friend had them back in 2005.
@@darkmaer How's the bass?
@@patrickpicansoiv9938 For me, It's perfect. I don't like overbearing bass. So if you have it at the location that they have marked as optimum It does good at enhancing the sound, but not making it the primary focus. My Costco had a demo station. If you have a local Costco you can see if they have a demo station to check out.
Does anybody know why the base would not come through the subwoofer as it's supposed 2 100%
went into costco today and they are on sale til 8/01 around 60
Wow, that is a great price for these. I have owned these for a year now and I still love them. They work great and sound amazing!
Thinking about replacing my blackweb 2.1 PC speakers with Klipsch subwoofer and speakers. Both of the Blackweb pc speakers 2.1 are broken.
I have an old version that has a bluetooth chip inside. I need to upgrade, does this new model have bluetooth?
No Bluetooth, has a 3.5mm input that is all!
@@Allkindsofstuff ...Okay Thank you for your response.
What does preamp connect to?
I like that desk
Thanks I absolutely love this desk, my wife keeps trying to make me get rid of it because of the size. Thanks for watching!
I need to know how to turn them off. Do I need to buy an extra power strip to turn them off.
Picked these up before Xmas for $90 at Costco. I upgraded from my Logitech Z313s and these sound amazing in my home office/computer room! Plus, even with them turned halfway up you can barely hear them in the next room and you really can’t hear them downstairs!
I love these speakers, they bump hard. Great investment
So these don’t come with a power on/off button ?
Unfortunately these don't have an on/off button.
nIce review Brother thank you ..!
My brother recommended me these. Great content and video. What do you use to edit? DaVinci?
Yeah, I use DaVinci Resolve to edit. Just the free version still. I have not found any reason to pay for the premium version yet.
How do you power it off?

@@guyinboca Thank you much appreciated, but the issue I think I’m having is that I read an article that said it’s not good to power off that system because it can blow it out in a sense? When you do power it off and have it turned up, you can hear a loud shut off sound, like a pop
Glad my video helped, thanks for watching.
Will those work with a MSI computer monitor that has a 3.5 mm jack ?
Yes, they have a 3.5mm audio input! Will work just fine with your monitor.
Thank you 😊
Is there an off & on button or does the light stays on?
doesnt matter....they are well worth the price...i used to buy these when they cose like 200$ + back in like 2010 -2012
There is no power on/off. That is the only draw back of this system. When not in use I notice the subwoofer is cool, while in operation I it gets warm. I believe the system has some type of auto power save. Klipsch does not list anything about it on the website, I did check!
@@Allkindsofstuff Thanks.......
So how do you power the woofer without the other 2 table top speakers
nice review, would have liked to see longer and louder and experience the fullness of the bass from your vid, but i will say that i picked up mine from wal mart for 99usd and not on sale and i have to say I AM EXTREMELY IMPRESSED the bass hits hard, can handle low notes also but i like the solid bass and listen to a lot of edm and have yet to be dissappointed by this 2.1 system....
Awesome speakers!! On sale at Costco for $89 right now.
Does one need an amplifier to operate this system?
No amp is required, power supply is built into the subwoofer!
@@Allkindsofstuff Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Costco had them on sale for 79.99 dollars. I've never had nice speakers before. And I am over 50.
I love dumpster diving and recently i found a dump full of returns all from Costco and found 6 sets of these speakers all in the box still but open boxes or damage box but items inside still wrapped in plastic also found 5 12inch subwoofers klipsch and many other new items wow you'll be surprised what's thrown into garbage so many new items that people opened box didn't want or need no more and just returned them, cause they change their minds
So u can do bluetooth or 3.5mm jack
My PC has three 3.5 mm outputs on the rear (one front l/r; one rear l/r, and one lfe/center. It also has headphone Jack in front. Which output(s) do I use? Thanks.
Recién los compré y la verdad suenan espectacular .......lml
used this since 2009
how you turn them off or on it has a knob to do it? thanks
It’s really good I just got some and they are amazing
Do these have enough sound to be used for an outdoor projector? I’m trying to find a good but low price solution for family movie night.
They do imo.
I would say these should have enough output for that. My father-in-law has the same set and we are brings them out in the summer for barbecues, they sound awesome.
So these only require an electric outlet and a 3.5mm headphone jack in terms of plug in?
yes, but no power button
P.S. One thing i hated about these is the lack of a power on/off switch, and the power light is always on no matter what.
yep
Is the light super bright in the dark? I can’t sleep with bright lights
Are they better than Harman Kardon Sound Sticks?
How do you connect to the t.v. ?
Yes, if the TV had a headphone out or RCA audio output that could be plugged into a 3.5mm adapter.
@@Allkindsofstuff
Thank you for the reply.
I already have the same set. I didn't think that I could hook it up to my Vizio t.v.
They sound superb I owned a set long time ago the only problem is that the sub paper cone constantly get torn and there are basically no spare parts.
I've been using a pair of these for almost two years but I'm trashing them because either on their own, or with me practicing guitar to them (using various
smaller amps I have here) at sometimes higher volumes
(but never near max.), I think the right satellite speaker blew out a bit. Something sure did. The bass still seems fine but the right sat. is blown for sure a bit. I've heard other
people complain they died pretty soon even at moderate sound levels. The quality isn't great. They did sound great before just recently. I'm replacing them with
some Logitech 2.1 623s or whatever it is, (400 watt ones) and hoping they last longer.
Will I be able to connect this to both tv and computer simultaneously?
Where i can buy the pre amp cable?
@@Allkindsofstuff ohhh.ok thaks a lot bro!greetings from Puerto Rico!
My Klipsch pro media 2.1 are going out- the bass works but the speakers go out then come back on then go back out
This seems to be a widespread problem for Klipsch
What is Klipsch doing about this?
Can you use the headphone jack for a headset (head phone + microphone)?
I just hooked mine up. $119 direct from Klipsch. They sound great. My only concern is that LED is kind of bright when I'm gaming in a darkened room.
I just covered mine with a little slip of tape. Idk why they made it so bright
Nail varnish 🙂
Is it good for music production?
is it safe to use a pc equalizer on these speakers will it ruin the speaker
These perform best I have same system on a Dell XPS 13 desktop it freaking rocks!!
Is it me, or is it a pain not having an on-off switch?
I read someone mention they got around the issue with a smart plug but that still involves a vocal "hey alexa". I assume the alternative is a "wireless socket" or a power strip but all options seem inconvenient.
Hello friend. Can you tell me if I can use the subwoofer in ambient sound? Connected to an amplifier. Thanks!
My guess would be a defective subwoofer. Sometimes that stuff happens, I would go exchange them for another set if possible. Good luck!
Thanks..That is what I'm beginning to think also. I bought the system from Costco about a year or a little more ago. Looks like I might be stuck with a sour lemon. :(
Set location to Europe. USA etc have a strict volume limit, in the eu you can disable it by law. Or buy a headphone amp.
Como se apaga? O siempre se mantiene prendido?
Se que en la perilla quizá presionando al fondo
Do these speakers have an off on button? Because I can't find it. Thanks
arriving tom. !!
Nice, I hope you like them!
Looking at this and Edifier USA 2.1 Speaker System (M3200)
Which Logitech speakers did you have before I love my Logitechs thinking about buying these
Love mine, amazing value for the price. I’ve been rocking mine on and off since 2017 and still recommend them. But how do you put them in pairing mode?
Click on the volume knob
The left speaker isn't working. Can you tell me what I could have done to have caused that?
Is there a way to turn off the White light? I’m sure the light indicates “Power on” but just wanted to ask.

Is there any way to also connect these to a 4K TV?
If your TV has an analog RCA output, yes. You would have to use an RCA to 3.5mm headphone adapter for this to connect. Hope that helps!
Place the subwoofer on a hard surface such as ceramic tile for better sound. The Woofer cabinet needs to vibrate, the carpet stops that.
I was thinking about putting a piece of carpet over the ceramic tile I will have once I get them and install them. I'm glad I read your advise.
You shouldn't hear the case. It's ported to balance those vibrations (also rubber feet/spikes). give the port a clear view to your wall and it should fill the room a bit with the reverb
