The thing that terrifies me most about this case is imaging the pain these women (and baby, and man) went through. I imagine they suffered terribly during any possible torture they endured. Then to have their bodies dumped out there and left for who knows how long is terrifying. I'm not a sex worker, but I feel bad for those who are. Their lives are constantly in danger.

But until you actually see it like this and just how close all the bodies are - this really makes it hit home. Ain't no coincidence. Debra Paulson Photography - Chicago I grew up one county over, the one that borders Queens. That stretch of highway runs east to west on the south shore of the island. Suffolk county is far more desolate than Nassau. I’ve driven down that road plenty of times at night. The only light you have on that stretch is your headlights. One girl was last seen running around with no shoes on in December. It doesn’t get more desolate and lifeless on LI than an empty stretch of road on a December night. Some really crooked shit went down there, and my LI instinct tells me the police had something to do with covering it up. They knew something. They hid it. It’s enough to creep out a grown man.

Gray Hughes I'm unsure if you can answer my question Gray, but I was curious as to whether or not you are in law enforcement, because you're videos always have such great insight into these crimes. I'm merely an amateur and find these mysteries very interesting. I tried to make heads or tales with a lot of that Jodi Arias maniacal testimony for the longest, but was only able to get a better sense of it after watching your videos. The ability to visualize her testimony made it so much easier to unravel her tales. Anyway, thanks again and I truly hope they find this monster very soon.

There are also at least 3 or 4 more victims _other than Shannon Gilbert (who would also be a good one to add on there) thought to be related. these are also on Wikipedia. I realize that this would mean hours and hours of work, but you seem to be very proficient in the use of media related to the mapping. probably more proficient than the police and maybe even the state FBI (if they were allowed to participate in the investigation). These skills you have are so important to show thick headed commanders and the like in charge of resource allocation in these investigations to help them see the similarities that would otherwise be lost in all the sites and between all the jane doe-s. I have studied this case and your 5 minute video does more to put this case together than any hour-long 48 hour or documentary style special out there. please consider these suggestions. I'm not skilled with Google maps at all I've tried and it takes an hour to just find proper directions to and from a doctor's appointment let alone making a comprehensive multi media presentation to the caliber of yours. thanks for your diligence and I hope to see more of your work on this enigmatic and hopelessly stalled case!!
All the victims at gilgo were prostitutes excpet the toddler who was related to another victim not at gilgo beach. all called from craig's list as well. Even the asian male was found wearing women's clothing. He was killed differently as though the perp was enraged.

Don’t people occasionally pick up litter from the side of highways? I feel like I remember seeing a group of prisoners collecting trash somewhere in one of the Carolinas once. It’s just weird to me.

The killer called Amanda a "half-breed" and I think it was stated that he called Melissa's boyfriend/pimp or referred to him with a racial slur. Maybe this is a trigger for him. If you look at the history of serial killer's who were caught, many were caught by the one who got away, but the girl wasn't believed or the suspect talked his way out of it at first. Ridgway passed a polygraph and Robert Hansen talked his way out of it as did the Bike Path rapist. They were caught when they did it again. We have no DNA here since the victim's were found were so decomposed. Shannan almost got away. Too many coincidences to think we don't already know who the killer is, or who one of them is at least.

So it seems with each and every one there is a bi-racial element in some part of the victim's family/lifestyle. Maybe he only kills when he discovers that about them. Or is Jessica's killer tattoo guy and he put some of her remains there after the gilgo 4 were found, then came forward with the burlap story trying to tie Jessica in with another separate killer? He seemed to be having no one see him as a suspect, so coming forward and talking on tv seems foolish if he is guilty. Someone out there who knows the client Shannan visited who she ran screaming from and should know (especially a former girlfriend or wife) if he is an extreme racist who becomes infuriated when he sees biracial couples.

I'm still baffled that they haven't caught this guy just yet. I wonder if he's online watching this shit!? I don't know if you're familiar with this case but some time last summer they picked up this guy named John Bittrolf on two murders that occurred in the early 90's. Both women were prostitutes and both were found in Manorville. Look up his story because it's quite interesting how they caught him. Anyway, they have ruled him out as a suspect. This guy was living large out east in a beautiful home with a wife and two kids. It's sick. I don't believe Shannon Gilbert's murder was the work of the same serial killer. I also don't think all of the other bodies were the work of the same person as the girls they had originally found. Although the characters in the Shannon Gilbert case seem beyond shady, I have to assume that the police investigated them thoroughly.

It was during a time period when I was deep into the rabbit hole of this case...I was fairly obsessed with it. I remembered just last night. Hmm, were the sites like this when the body was found? If they were, why were the bodies not found earlier? The vegetation/foliage doesn't seem to be dense, AT ALL. It's virtually non-existent. Or did the cops chop down a fair amount of the landscape and keep it that way after the bodies were discovered?

I remember from the original news report that the foliage was a lot more dense, and that the remains were discovered well into the thick brambles, to the point where no one would've bothered going in there-if not for the active investigation. +Notorious Lee Wow, that is creepy. I know of many cases like this that the murderer has turned out to be a truck driver. That's usually why they never get caught. They live double lives and kill people that have no connection or ties to them. That's how they finally got proof on the happy faced killer. The last woman he killed was his then fiance. He knew the gig was up and the police were moving in. It's possible the police are keeping closed lipped and only buying time. It's even likely these folks who think they have been cleared, really aren't. They are still watching and possibly have them on their radar. I personally think they seemed awful shady. I myself find it a bit odd that they just happened to find the girl who called the police for help. Floating in the water that close to another Serial Killer's dumping ground. He's probably more then likely dumping them during the Winter months. Less people to catch him in the act. He's found a new location by now. I didn't find those detectives to be proactive. Another idea would be a policeman or someone that would never be questioned for pulling off the side of the road.
gojobuddy interesting. I think you're right on a lot of that except one thing. All the woman were dumped during the summer months. They all went missing between May-August and so police think it's possible the killer can be transient. I doubt that's his only dumping ground but it's probably his best. Had that girl never gone missing, they probably wouldn't have found the rest for another decade or so....if even ever. It's literally a ghost town down there at night. This is what's weird to me. Years ago my exboyfriend and I took a ride there on his motorcycle at night. We were stopped by police at the end of the bridge and told we can't be in the area. This was long before the girls were missing but still kind of odd.
gojobuddy I meant to add that, when my ex and I went down there! it was during the summer. It's very dark down there at night and even though a highway runs across the island there's hardly a car in sight, especially at night. There's really no reason to be there unless you own a home there. There's no stores, gas stations or dining on that road. Just houses and empty parking lots for the beach goers. You aren't allowed on the beaches at night time either. They are all gated and dunes line each side of the highway as well as thick brush. I've heard that there's been talk of the killer having possible ties to law enforcement because he's that good at evading capture. I don't if that holds any validation.
We have plenty people yet to be found in other states.This looks just like the stretch of road Brandon Lawson I believe was his name, was going down. They even have a 911 call for him.

The book was very well written. Really creepy too. Oooh like this video wow the book (audiobook for me on this one) was called 'the Lost Girls' right? Oh shoot I think that's it. I recommend it - humanizes these women who were previously just overlooked as disposable. Very sad but the book tries to repair that

Roll back the history date on Google Street View... You can roll the dates back to a few months after one of the girls went missing (Google Street View did a run down that stretch of road a few months after) Can't find anything of any significance though... just overgrowth

I'm still baffled that they haven't caught this guy just yet. I wonder if he's online watching this shit!? I don't know if you're familiar with this case but some time last summer they picked up this guy named John Bittrolf on two murders that occurred in the early 90's. Both women were prostitutes and both were found in Manorville. Look up his story because it's quite interesting how they caught him. Anyway, they have ruled him out as a suspect. This guy was living large out east in a beautiful home with a wife and two kids. It's sick.
I don't believe Shannon Gilbert's murder was the work of the same serial killer. I also don't think all of the other bodies were the work of the same person as the girls they had originally found. Although the characters in the Shannon Gilbert case seem beyond shady, I have to assume that the police investigated them thoroughly.

I viewed this video when you posted it a year back btw. It was during a time period when I was deep into the rabbit hole of this case...I was fairly obsessed with it. I remembered just last night.
I remembered that I'd already seen your video because I didn't sleep the first night I saw this. I couldn't get this place, the road, the surroundings out of my head. It was playing on loop, repeatedly. Same thing, over and over again. I didn't sleep last night either.
Hmm, were the sites like this when the body was found? If they were, why were the bodies not found earlier? The vegetation/foliage doesn't seem to be dense, AT ALL. It's virtually non-existent. Or did the cops chop down a fair amount of the landscape and keep it that way after the bodies were discovered?

I remember from the original news report that the foliage was a lot more dense, and that the remains were discovered well into the thick brambles, to the point where no one would've bothered going in there-if not for the active investigation.

+Notorious Lee Wow, that is creepy. I know of many cases like this that the murderer has turned out to be a truck driver. That's usually why they never get caught. They live double lives and kill people that have no connection or ties to them. That's how they finally got proof on the happy faced killer. The last woman he killed was his then fiance. He knew the gig was up and the police were moving in. It's possible the police are keeping closed lipped and only buying time. It's even likely these folks who think they have been cleared, really aren't. They are still watching and possibly have them on their radar. I personally think they seemed awful shady. I myself find it a bit odd that they just happened to find the girl who called the police for help. Floating in the water that close to another Serial Killer's dumping ground. He's probably more then likely dumping them during the Winter months. Less people to catch him in the act. He's found a new location by now. I didn't find those detectives to be proactive. Another idea would be a policeman or someone that would never be questioned for pulling off the side of the road.
gojobuddy interesting. I think you're right on a lot of that except one thing. All the woman were dumped during the summer months. They all went missing between May-August and so police think it's possible the killer can be transient. I doubt that's his only dumping ground but it's probably his best. Had that girl never gone missing, they probably wouldn't have found the rest for another decade or so....if even ever. It's literally a ghost town down there at night. This is what's weird to me. Years ago my exboyfriend and I took a ride there on his motorcycle at night. We were stopped by police at the end of the bridge and told we can't be in the area. This was long before the girls were missing but still kind of odd.
gojobuddy I meant to add that, when my ex and I went down there! it was during the summer. It's very dark down there at night and even though a highway runs across the island there's hardly a car in sight, especially at night. There's really no reason to be there unless you own a home there. There's no stores, gas stations or dining on that road. Just houses and empty parking lots for the beach goers. You aren't allowed on the beaches at night time either. They are all gated and dunes line each side of the highway as well as thick brush.
I've heard that there's been talk of the killer having possible ties to law enforcement because he's that good at evading capture. I don't if that holds any validation.
We have plenty people yet to be found in other states.This looks just like the stretch of road Brandon Lawson I believe was his name, was going down. They even have a 911 call for him.

at 4:32 till 4:42 a face in the bushes can be seen.Maybe nothing.Or a psychic might find it of some use. I'm not ruling out how as humans we see faces in different things.
