WHAT??? That is called the Sound of Silence! You are my hero! I know what I'm doing to my golf cart next (I have the exact same top). Great solution! And by the way, your reconfiguring of the battery compartment is nothing short of genius with using those spare pieces to make a slot for vertical mounts for the charger, etc. Very slick!
By the way, a little accidental tip for solving what I thought was suspension related squeaks on my Precedent -- lube the steering column (I think they're called steering yokes). Those exposed joints underneath get really dusty/crusty from just driving the cart around and then even minor steering corrections squeak like crazy making you think it's probably bushings, etc. After just smearing some lube on those two steering yokes (upper and lower) and I thought I'd lost my hearing. After I do your roof mod, I'm going to be ridiculously stealthy. 😂
