Steve's material is never easy. He wants to challenge himself while producing great compositions simultaneously. I have great curiosity as to how you know ALL the notes that you are playing here. I have watched you carefully. How did you learn the really fast runs? I cannot comprehend what Steve is playing with the Drums, Bass and extra parts that Steve is playing in the background. If I heard his guitar by itself I could perceive them - but not off the CD that I have. I want to congratulate you on your Amazing Technique and Control - and how you just make your guitar sing! Are you in a Cover Band, or a Big Time Band?
Each And EVERY TIME I Watch My Friend Michael Gregory play guitar my jaw hits the floor. His amazing talent shines through in his touch, timing, delicate touch and aggressive power riffs his ear and the flavor he brings to every song he plays is absolutely inspirational.! WOW, WOW, WOW My Brother that’s all I can say!❤️
I can play just like that, but only on my steering wheel while I'm driving. It doesn't carry over to the guitar for some reason (same for The Great Spectacular). Thank you Michael for posting about Janine and her struggle - praying for her, Steve, and family.
This song was my Introduction (pun intended) to Steve Morse. I was 8 or 9 and my cousins put this album on for me. Been a fan ever since. As always, great job covering the master.
Jerry Peek , Rod Morganstine right? Rods from Dixie Dregs I tried this song at age 16 when everyone was mastering EVH's Uruption I got as far as the first few riffs ! Hung up my progressive guitar school book that day BUT The Introduction was a cool tape and this and General Lee are my favorites
Michael you never fail in reminding me what an utter musical genius Steve Morse is!! Your playing and technique is brilliant as always. Thanks for posting another great video!! Peace
I haven't checked out any of your vids in a while... This was fantastic!!! This was the first song I heard by Steve Morse and you absolutely nailed it! Glad to see you're still uploading music. Love it!!! Take care!

Michael, you constantly amaze me with your abilities, musicality and incredible touch! This is another example of your burning skills.... absolutely awesome!
I am blown away at your prowess and golden ears. I have been working up Pride o the farm and bought the old Steve Morse songbook like you recommended for fingerings. I performed the bash at tempo during my graduation from G.I T. in 1980. But now at 63 years old these old Morse parts are oh so challenging. I look forward to all your media. Rock on.@@michaelgregory2231

@@michaelgregory2231 We'll see if I do it justice. This is the song that introduced me to Steve Morse. Jerry Peek is a monster player. It's a shame more people don't know who he is. Your cover of this is the best played, most accurate I have heard. Loved it!
Thank you for your kind words! It's a Fender Player Series Tele made in Mexico that was a birthday gift from my wife and they're remarkably affordable for what they are. Around $500-700. I replaced the bridge saddles with better ones for tone and sustain and my brother installed a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbuckers, which are fabulous!
Wow, that's so kind of you to say, thank you! I've been a HUGE fan of Mike's artistry since first hearing him around 1979-80. He should be a household name!
