    Nice video! Could you do the same test with an off the shelf bike shop helmet that everyone has? I usually don’t train in my aero gear all the time I would be curious.

    Would be curious on some discussion and testing on visor versus sunglasses

      It has little use since everyone will test differently. Although some helmets really need their visors to be fast

    Met codatronca is an ace helmet, let’s you get away with stour head moving about, not too heavy and feels and looks great. Can still get it nicely tucked into your upper back

    Longtail all day. The tail touching my upper back reminds me to stay in position, plus I like the look.

    I have the drone. Sits nicely. Whether it is faster that my other helmet i'm not sure yet.

    I miss also the comparison with a normal helmet as the Met Rivale or Met Manta to see the difference...

    It seems to me that if you’re going to buy one helmet then you buy the short-tail. The long tail version only has a very small gain and even that’s only true in ideal circumstances. That said, long tail helmets still look cool!

    For me a long tail helmet is a way of balancing my other long protrusion in the front of my body.

    I am afraid of putting on a long tail because my average speed over a 10km sprint is a meagre 31.8 kmh . ....if...if...I ever get up to above 45kmh.... i may consider a long tail... shucks.....shortail for now.....

    I have the codatronca. With visor on, can feel+hear the wind flow pass better but for the distance I ride (avg 100km/ride), I find myself sweating buckets wearing it. The 3 holes in front are just too tiny and don’t do much in keeping the helmet ventilated to cool my head. The heat build it makes it steamy inside helmet and over time the fog does build up on the lense affecting my visibility. Should also say that my body isn’t flush flat with my head horizontally when I’m on tt bar. I’ve ordered Rudy Project The Wing and awaiting for it to arrive. I hope with the vent cover open, it will allow more are through my head as compared to codatronca so that I will feel more comfortable. Not sure how aerodynamics of both helmets compared but I believe they should be fairly similar and if there’s any difference it should be just really marginal

      The wing seems to test extremely well in many conditions. I'm also considering getting one...

      I only have the Drone helmet, but it helps a lot to take off the visor. Without the visor, much more air gets through the helmet and with goggles it is not slower according to my time trial measurements. Maybe even faster. There are many tests where the visors don't help at all. But they often have a disadvantage: less air in the face. I only do my time trials without a visor and with goggles, and then the MET Drone is much better ventilated, a huge difference! Unfortunately, my answer is very late, but if you still have the helmet, you can try it out.

    That's why the old Kask infinity was genius. Short areo but also regular road helmet. If you can only afford one helmet, that was the one to get. You got to really be boss to get away with the long tail 😂

    • @GrouEEf
      @GrouEEf 3 роки тому +1

      The kask infinity tested extremely bad in multiple aero tests...

      Better off buying a good aero helmet and a very cheap helmet for training. A department store, $40 helmet is just as safe as a $200 helmet

    Why don’t you do one with an aero helmet and a normal helmet and see if it actually makes a difference

    • @veganpotterthevegan
      @veganpotterthevegan 9 місяців тому

      Because we already know there's a big difference there
