Learn to warp a Mirrix Loom for Tapestry/Fiber Weaving. In this detailed video, Mirrix President Claudia Chase goes over all the basics of how to warp a Mirrix Loom to begin weaving tapestry!
If you have a newer loom, you may have slightly different clips than shown in this video. Learn more about them here: www.mirrixlooms...
Note: Leave at least 4” of the threaded rod exposed when warping on the 8, 12 & 16“ looms (as noted in the video) and 6” on the 22, 28, 32 & 38” looms (this part is not mentioned in the video).

Impressive array of information on warping this loom and introduction to the shedding device. The engineering of this loom is pretty phenomenal. Of course there are many other looms of increased complexity, but for most purposes, in my humble opinion, this one works very well. Thanks for sharing.
This is exactly what I was wanting. I've had my loom for years and would like to use it but was confused.
Thanks! I love your explanations and they are so helpful.
Such a super video, excellent instructions.
Thank you!
Can you tell what kind of yarn or thread you are using to warp the loom please? I have had my Mirrix big sister loom for 5 years and really have been afraid to use it, but want to begin.
This was warped with a wool warp that is no longer available. I would recommend Seine Twine. It's super strong and great for tapestry. We sell it on bobbins, which is great for warping a loom. mirrixlooms.com/collections/warp/products/six-pack-of-bockens-seine-twine-bobbins
You should make the warping bar with a level right in it.
Thank you SO much! I think I made a mistake though buying a big sister loom. I thought I could weave fabric to make simple purses. Now I read somewhere that it's not made for that. Is this true?
You could weave a tapestry purse (like this: instagram.com/p/CYpJYsSv3wU/) on one of our looms, but we do not recommend using a Mirrix to weave fabric. This blog post explains why: mirrixlooms.com/blogs/mirrix-blog/weaving-a-scarf-on-a-mirrix-is-like-frying-an-egg-in-a-stockpot

What do you use for heddles, or what did you use to make them?
We have pre-made heddles available, but you can make them with any strong, thin warp material. You can learn how to do that here: www.mirrixlooms.com/pages/shedding-device
these videos won't play... ugh
suggestions?
Catherine- Perhaps try a different browser. Are other UA-cam videos working for you?
vídeo não está melhor pq vc coloca a mão na frente, não dá p visualizar como vc separa os fios. Abraços; se puder envie o vídeo mais detalhado.0
What would help is if you would demonstrate how to warp it without talking, instead of stopping all the time and telling me what "not" to do. This made it very confusing!
If you're confused I recommend checking out our instructional .pdf documents. Seeing the static pictures should make it easier to understand the process! Hope that helps! www.mirrixlooms.com/pages/set-up-and-warping-instructions
