Can’t wait to go there Today! I was supposed to go for my birthday but it was closed so my mum let me stay off and I’m going today what the most reccomended Train?
A friend of mine went there last week. It is s little way from Bradford but well worth the journey. Yes it does close... is it Wednesday. Don't forget to take your mum to the piee and mash shop,
I'm with you as far as G scale figures are concerned, I've tried several sites on ebay advertising affordable G scale figures and on receipt found they're nowhere near the right size. I'm really not in a position to afford the genuine items, so if you could give me some idea of where you got the figures in your video I'd appreciate it. I'm actually in the process of trying to mould some myself, I've got as far as making wire formers using stripped domestic wiring soldered together, then I'll see if I can fashion something vaguely human like out of some DAS air drying clay. If it works its's got to be loads cheaper than buying proper stuff. The shop was brilliant, I think I needed everything that was in there!!!
I got the Simpson s figures in Asda. All the others were from eBay. try postman pat first. u have some of those cheap figures from China. As you say. .wrong size poor quality. I budget about £2 per figure. I also use playmobil.
Hi john, I'm not sure the excact size but have you tried using figures known as hero clix, you can get some amazing figures, not sure the size of figures you require, but worth a try possibly, bri
Hi Bri, No I haven't come across those before. They are actually a bit small for g scale where the figures should be 3.2in for a six foot person. The ones in the video are nominally 4in tall. I did enjoy looking all those fantasy figures, thank you. John
I was amazed. Shaw is a small town, but people travel from all over to this shop and now I can see why. He also tries to match the prices of the major discounters like Hattons and Rails - but he gives a full support service.
Arcadia should be called Aladdin's cave ..wish we had one like that in our area John ...like the sign over the Bridge !!! ..Dave
Yes the Saddleworth Moor bridge over the M62 is a high one. Arcadia is just under an hour from me so not too far to go to browse or collect items.
Great model shop ,,, and smashing shots of your ride over there,,, not so easy going in that wind ,,,
We were very fortunate with the wind. Only seriously head on for a few sections of the journey.
Fantastic model shop.
Yes, and Tim and Karen, the owners, are so helpful.

Hi John, it's incredible: It starts very small and gets bigger and bigger and ......

Here in Germany it becomes more difficult to find a shop like this!
Here as well Ralph-Peter. It is hard for shop owners to make a living with the competition from online sales.
I could spend ton's of money there
Yes Scott, always good to find a well stocked model shop. And a knowledgeable owner.
