Without doubt a firm contender for the biggest/ longest "transportable" railway which I think you need to clarify and lay claim to in your title and again do this magnificent layout full justice! Don't forget those gaps... A great tribute to British model railways. Wish could see in the flesh, Stephen, Canada
And cost a fraction of the as yet undermined actual costs of HS2 whilst running on time for the working classes not the overpaid elitists that HS2 will help leave Londonistan
This is an impressive model railway. What I also really appreciate is that the reporter has actually done some research. (One clue - Steam locomotive or engine rather than train).
He is going to dismantle it, to show it to the public. Sod that! Paint a landscape background on boards, turn the whole place into a railway theme, then bring the public to it. Anyway, great job.
Egads, imagine if that place flooded, it'd be such a waste. 8 years though, kudos to the effort and commitment; I can't keep an interest in something for more than a couple of weeks.
Miniature - who writes the bold, main headline statements? "Minature" - for the person who writes them - please use a dictionary as it's spelled "MINIATURE"
It's shocking! The other week they had put CACCINE instead of VACCINE! I wonder if they have a BBC or Sky News mole on their staff to undermine the station!
My 125 model 00 gauge diesel loco's i repainted would go nice on that! . . I always dreamt of a layout like that, but having once had a loco driver for a girlfriend, nothing could ever top that for a mere spotta!! She'd be impressed by too by that layout work :)
I hope someone makes a longer interview/programme about this. I'd like to know a bit more about how the guy started off - did he start in this massive warehouse, if he didn't know how big it would end up? And how much has he made - just the scenery, or more technical stuff like buildings, track equipment, etc. And what did it cost?
Fantastic! Echoes my own childhood in 1961 waiting by Heaton Mersey station to watch the Midland Pullman going through at 7.30 in the morning. Would love to see it one day!
Thank you GB News for positive good news as well, it is sorely needed by the human race!! On a less positive note I hope there will be security in place to keep vandals away...remember the wonderful model railways Exhibition which was destroyed by yobs? Sorry for the negative part of my comment!
Behind a deltic? I doubt it as they were express passenger locomotives. You probably saw class 37s, which have a similar profile to the untrained eye. 😊
They could have ruined it with annoying 'ticker tape',rolling news. They didn't. They could have asked loads of utterly stupid questions. They didn't.Actually,newsworthy.Keep up the good work,GB News!
Very impressive- a bit bigger than my model railway by a factor of at least 100 times, but in your quest for accurate reporting, probably best not to show mirror images- check at 1:11 where the numbers and double arrow on the loco are quite clearly reversed. Why?
@@kopynd1 Don’t feed this troll. I’ve no doubt the brothers who created Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg would be as impressed with Heaton Lodge as most ‘right thinking’ people who also commented on here. 🙄
Reinforced my appreciation of GB news. Great story of decent people .
Apart from the idiotic Cristys I love GB News.
Brilliant ! Thanks GB NEWS for showing this.
Amazing story and amazing to see some unpolitical news from a UK news outlet.
A great story and very well done by GBNews.
Neil Oliver is rapidly becoming (has become!) a national treasure.
Yes, I've just watched his report on COP26- brilliant.
Enjoyed this story a lot, especially giving the builder a chance to speak in a bit of depth.
What a great story.
I would love to see that, well done a labour of love.
Nice video you put together with lots going on.Thanks for sharing .

Much respect, from the guy who's single- handedly built Britain's largest 1/35 scale tank diorama (40' x 2'.)
More content like this please.
The British people using their skills to do amazing things
....it's set to rival HS2 on the basis that the miniature railway is finished.
And cost a fraction of the as yet undermined actual costs of HS2 whilst running on time for the working classes not the overpaid elitists that HS2 will help leave Londonistan
I like the fact he went for something real and gritty, instead of a fantasy chocolate-box world like a lot of model railways end up being...
Absolutely fantastic! It's the detail that counts, just really stunning!Well done Simon,a real credit to you!❤🙂👍
*Wholesome* story
Love it, regards from Australia 🇦🇺.

What an amazing guy! The very best to your venture 👏👏👏
As a boy I used to train spot for about 2 years in the early seventies. I only lived a few miles from Mirfield. It looks right.
Fantastic!

Needs to install glass barriers the general public are disgusting.
So you don't have permanent relationships then ?
@@bertiewooster3326 Never been in one, I've never really been attracted to anyone before. Make of that whatever?
Awesome
*Amazing - well done Simon !*
This is fantastic. So realistic it’s amazing.
Brilliant
Love this story - especially as I went to the Railway Museum in York over the Summer!
It's even more fun that it sounds!
Wonderful story.
Even 0 gauge looks small in this huge layout....!
A lovely story for once. Full of joy. :D
Based and hobby pilled.
Thats a great story. We need more good stories like this.
These were the kind of stories we used to get on MSM. Not anymore. They wouldn't air this, it's too uplifting.
Great to have good news for once
This is fantastic! I'll look forward to seeing this model railway when it goes on display!

LOL attention to detail
@@sabejreid2072 If you wish to see more "attention to detail" from the video point of view, look carefully at the loco at 1:11.
Can you put up the sound setting as it is to low......Hard to hear on lap top.
Outstanding

massive typo on the graphic, interns must do Sundays :)

Absolutely amazing 👏😍
It's a 'proper' model railway as well! Absolutely fab.
Me and my girlfriend have walked next to that line so many times and now to see it here, its perfect and i love the loco sounds too...bang on Simon.

Referendum on Immigration, now. Support UKIP's Campaign.
to make it more realistic , does he have extinction rebellion figures lying on the tracks ?!!!!!
This is set in 1983, before the west fell into the grip of idiocracy.
BRILLIANT 👌
very cool , staggering
Yeah that is.... awesome! :)

just sounds like a deltic, a used to watch them from my school, 54 coal trucks was my biggest count

Has Rod Stewart seen this?
He is a model railway enthusiast.
Don't worry, I've let him know.
Jack crane from Rotherham is building one 😂
"Simon says ..." lol!!!
At last! Something interesting and uplifting from the Poundland Billy Connolly.
You should use spell-checks more often. It’s Miniature.
Dedication's what you need, if you want to be a record breaker yeeeah........
Really a minature marvel lol
1:09 Reporter says incredible accuracy and then a 37 goes by with the numbers the wrong way around.
Well done, and thank you for a RARE public interest item with a "Good News" factor -for once !
Brilliant...very nearly never mentioned covid...still Brilliant 👏
These snoods he wears... are wearing on me 🤣
Great model, sad story behind it.. 😕
Is it scheduled by English Heritage?
Spell check not working on headline . . .
Remember Afghanistan 🇦🇫please.
talk to Biden.. and point at the media that got rid of trump etc..
Remember the part Tony B-Liar played too. He must face justice!
finally model trains!!
👍
Was this the layout shown on the new Hornby show?
No that was Pete Watermans West Coast Main Line layout the biggest 00 one 00 is 76 times smaller than the real thing this is 43 times smaller
