When he said he was working on the boat I thought he said I’m working on the book I thought wow this guy is writing a book about sailing . Or maybe a romance novel😀👍
I’ll give that Filmora software a try. I presume that they must have a trial offer. I’m ready to create, I just need a boat, beautiful women and a tropical location!
It looks like a great tool. I’ll have to see the pricing. Just ended my Adobe subscription. A bit too expensive and elaborate as I’m only starting to learn editting. You make your video’s look really good with this program!
Another awesum video Captain Bobby !! I felt bad for Taylor when she got hurt but she is a trooper !! She is So Beautiful inside and out and is a great asset to your crew...... Syd is also beautiful and has a awesum sense of humor, she cracks me up. Such great chemistry on the boat !!! 😎
I’d highly recommend his beginning videos from several years ago. A fascinating story of what happened and how he started off with selling most of his stuff, buying a sail boat, and hitting the high seas with his two pups. 🌞🌊⛵️🐕 🐕🌊
Highly seeing his story from the start great story and inspiring as he learned to sail and do repairs from scratch. The dogs were so much of the story back then. Those whiners and complainers don/t know what he went thru to get to today. Enjoy your ride Bobby , you have earned every second.
That's the first time I have heard how you started. I am glad you recovered and I am even happier you rediscovered your new life on the water. Everything happens for a reason!
Or i am thinking too even just some old fashioned deck grip as that board looks slippery as, just checking Bobby do you wax it before using it? Looks like it’s really hard to get grip as well as being razer sharp
You can charge each battery at the same time by running 12v to each battery and it will work fine. Electrical circuits are relative even though your bow thruster is a 24v system.
Same here what they said, only problem is that one battery could be bad and the charger will see the good voltage and shut charge off because it thinks it done. But it will work to get you by for now without the need to change the charge wires each time.
Bobby, How about a cigar episode? What cigars do you like? Is keeping the humidor at the right humidity more difficult on the boat? Are cigars cheaper where you are? Etc. Love the content.
you can charge both with 12v with a battery isolator, it allows the charge to hit both batteries at 12v individually, many options for this, most boats that run 24v trolling motors run this sort of isolater to charge both batteries from the engine and yet still be able to run 24v trolling motor.
You need Nu Skin (liquid bandage) in your first aid kit. It's a liquid bandage with antiseptic and your healing time is greatly improved over just a plain cloth bandage. I've used it on myself in times I probably should have had stiches.
an isolatoris what you need, and some wiring from your alternator to your isolator than to your two batteries is all you need to charge both batteries 12volts safely while using your boat.we enjoy watching your show, keep up the good work.
Mike, Taylor make sure you rinse out the wound with clean freshwater. Use a triple strength antibiotic. Super glue was designed by the military for field use in wounds, but now there is a medical grade super glue. See if you can add that to your first aid kits on your boats. Hoping everyone is doing well.
On the thruster battery situation… if the 12v charger is a two bank charger, just connect one bank to each battery. It’s not ideal but will work. Just don’t run the thruster and the charger at the same time. For a 24v charger, get yourself a Victron Bluesmart 24v 8 amp charger from Amazon. About $135 plus whatever the shipping charge is to the USVI. It’s what I use on my boat with my 24v bow thruster.
Aw crap! Bobby broke Taylor!!!!!!!!!! He's right T, use superglue on the cut. As Monty P says" Its only a flesh wound", lol. aw damn! he broke another guest!!!! hoping he's got more than one first aid kit.
Run two separate charging cables to each battery. That way the charger sees 2 12 v batteries. That is the way some bank chargers work, even if you use the batteries as 24 volts, you charge them as 12V. It actually helps to keep the batteries better balanced!
Take some 120 grit with a sanding block and dull all the edges of the foil that are sharp. It wont affect performance of the foil but will save some. skin. They can still bite you after but it will be more of a scratch and bruise than a cut. Part of foiling is also knowing how to get off without landing on the foil. Beginners should practice wing handling on a stand up before the foil board. It is also a very good idea to learn how to foil behind a boat or on kite before you try the wing and foil together.
I've been to Magens Bay a few times. It has been ranked multiple times as one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet. The hills that protect it form a great view. I was there after a hurricane some 20-ish years ago and even though the vegetation took a hit it was still very nice.
I’ve been out wing foiling dozens of times and I’ve never cut myself. I also wear wet suit pants. Anyway you have a small board which is hard to learn on. Have you guys tried learning on the SUP first just so you can learn how to handle the wing and get back to the boat? It’s a hard sport to learn but after a dozen sessions in windy flat water, you will start to get it. Once you figure it out, it’s awesome so keep on truckin’.
You could also parallel the batteries and charge both at once. If it's a really bad wind situation in a marina you might have to switch back to series with the batteries. But in most situations the thrust at 12v will work fine.
The kite flies. Stop holding it up and let it lift you up instead. Bend you knees low in middle of the board. Tip one sail fin up to catch the wind. As it flies up, you stand up. Then, sail the boat.
Hey guys, I have one tip for you and the wing. you should start practicing the wing on the SUP. When you will be very confortable with the wing, it will be easier to learn the foiling. Cheers
Bobby, to accelerate the charging of the batteries, charge both in parallel instead of charging one at a time. You can us jumper cables or have some cables made specific for charging two batteries at the same time.
Can't you get some extra wire and parallel the charger to both battery's? that way the charger will see a single 12volt load that is actually both battery's instead of the series 24v load.
Im thinking scuba booties for safe foiling. Just a thought. BTW ive used filmora for the last year. Pretty simple to step away from for months. If your not editing all the time the relearning curve is short.
That 12 volt charger will charge the thruster batteries. You only nee 12 volts input. Your output is 24 volts based on the series wiring so the charger should be just fine.
What about a dedicated 24volt solar cell & controller? Sees like the perfect application for something that is not used regularly. Probably extend battery life too? Just a simple thought. All the best guys.
That hydrofoil board should have foot straps. I don't see how your feet will have enough friction to stay on when there is enough force to get up on a plane...
You don’t need foot straps for wing foiling especially if you’re learning because you need to move your feet around to find the balance point and right now they’re passing the board around.
@@rhett7716 yes you need them for a water start and jumping. I think they're fine once you know how to wing surf and once you know your board's balance point (which can still change depending on the foil size and the wind conditions).
@@martinomovies reckon u need them for some purchase otherwise they'll just keep gettin pulled off the board. anyway looks like they havent much of a clue, shud start on the paddle board and find some steady wind, way too gusty in there !
There is a way to charge your batteries, but you need to switch from series to parallel connection, but does the battery charger have enough juice to charge both batteries in parallel? You need to disconnect the series wiring whilst the batteries charge. Foil board, you need to be much further forward on the board. The kite is not dangerous .. the foil is.
Bobby, Isn't the engine batterys 24V ? If the 120VAC wiring to the thruster charger goes back to the engine compartment, remove the charger, and hook the batts to the engine charging system
We snorkeled there a few years ago. Interesting that there was no boats in the bay the day we were there (4 years ago). There is also a great hiking trail up the hillside to a lookout deck high up over the bay.
Just use a dual bank 12v charger. They are around 150 bucks and will work fine for that application. The MinnKota brand 20 amp, which is 10 amp per bank, are solid chargers and relitively inexpensive.
It looks like that kind of foil/kite surfing is as hard to learn to surf in small surf. One has to get the board moving for stability and then one will get the feel for it. Pick a day when there is steady stronger wind, and once the incumbent is moving the feel for it all will come. Good luck.
Unfortunately it is sad to see what has become of Magens Bay. As a native I remember that beach when it was a haven where everyone could relax and enjoy the relaxing view of a tranquil ocean all the way to the Inner Brass. Now with all those boats anchoring in the bay, that tranquil view is obstructed and now the bay looks like just another marina. Quite sad.
A little Tony's Chachere creole seasoning and some Sriracha hot sauce will make that alfredo sauce be awesome. Season and mix in well. Yummy... Also I think she had it right practicing on Oscar to figure out how to hold the Kite in the wind and gain balance. Either way it looks very difficult.
You know a pair of scuba boots or socks would probably prevent that. They come up over the ankles. When I first started learning to scuba dive I was taught to wear scuba socks aways with my fins. So there are pictures of me snorkeling in a swimsuit with scuba socks on. Although I have to say they are also awesome because the sand doesn't burn your feet. That and I am an albino so a pair of swim pants, a swim shirt long-sleeved with both scuba socks and scuba gloves, and a big hat and I am spot on ready for the beach! I tell you I am quite the sight to see at the beach!
Hey Bobby, can you get two twelve volt chargers and use them, one on each battery or, get a bass boat on board trickle charger that will charge up to three batteries and use it???
Bobby, you are doing great. It looks like you don't have any deficits. Your speech is normal and it looks like both sides of the body are 100%. How many years did it take to get back to normal? It's been one year for me and I still have a long ways to go.
Wow cuttin urselfs up on that foil, looks like you've not got any windsurfing experience. Id definitely start out using the wing on the paddle board. Also looked way too gusty in that bay for that little board. Maybe get some sandpaper onto the edge of that foil and soften it a touch!!

Use some Marvel Mystery oil to clean out the gunk and get it into the filter. Good for old motors.Thats a dangerous kite for sure.
