I'm hyped. And I'm still not a fan of the witcher series. But I recognize a good game when I see one. this is going to be my jump into it and I'm glad it's ciri.
It's crazy because I've seen so many UA-camrs who I thought were logical thinkers make videos on how this game is going to be woke and how they made Siri ugly but it's like good Lord obviously she's older guys😂 she doesn't necessarily live in a beautiful stress-free world and in my opinion she's beautiful, she seems experienced and I'm so ready to see where this story goes, I think in today's world everyone is so hyper focused on DEI that people are starting to see things that aren't there and we need to be careful because that's going to cause otherwise great games to be panic changed last minute and then it really ruins everything
Were those actual in-game Unreal Engine 5 graphics in the trailer, or was it just a CINEMATIC trailer? Like Assassin's Creed trailers look nothing like the actual game, for instance. It was very hard to tell LOL. Thanks, Parris!
As a huge fan of the witcher(books and games), I was disappointed that ciri will be the main character. I wanted it to be a totally new character who has nothing to do with Geralt. I just dont like this kind of fanservice.
Awesome interview!!! Congrats to Parris and to CDP, its GREAT to know that the crew developing and marketing for this franchise loves this universe as much as we do! Huge thanks to you all, and many blessons in this next years of development!! ❤
@idkaccountname3 over a CG trailer for a game that won't be out for a few years too. I dont get it i would get it even people were worried about a buggy launch. But people are acting like CD ProjectRed dosent know how to do good story telling. Every one of their games has spectacular story telling in every game they have made.
I know you mentioned UE5, but that was only a trailer it didnt show any gameplay so although the graphics could be amazing, it wont look like the trailer at all.
She just saved the world at the end of the Witcher 3 What does she have to prove, to risk her life becoming a witcher, instead of just using her elder blood abilities or source magic?
Yeah, she's emotionally attached to the idea of being a witcher, but her magical powers have negative associations. You have to remember that humans are emotional beings, and don't necessarily make what an outside perspective might consider "rational" choices, but choices that have meaning to the individual, founded in love (for Geralt, the Witcher cause?) or fear (of herself, her own elder blood?)
Because she wants to be a man, and by she I mean the developers want this. In polish, wiedźmin or Witcher is the male equivalent to the female wiedźma or Witch. As per the books author Sapkowski. She can’t be a badass female on her own per the developers, she’s gotta act like a man. Her powers, being the strongest not only female, but the strongest in the land? Doesn’t matter, she’s gotta be androgynous and be like a man, and be a wiedźmin. Agendas are strong. It’s depressing.
Great get, Parris. Congrats! Everything here sounds like a perfect turn for the franchise, and Ciri as the protagonist is making the right folks melt down. LFG😁
I personally don't like Ciri completely giving into her childish desires of becoming a witcher, mutations and all, despite probably knowing for a while that it isn't by any means a cool and rewarding life in the slightest and that she could've made way more difference in the lives of people by becoming empress of Nilfgaard, even if it meant some sacrifice on how she preferred to live. Of course, I already knew that the witcheress ending for TW3 was most likely the canon one given the comic Curse of Crows, I just don't think it's the path that makes more sense and keeps the most with the tone of TW as a franchise, being dark, tragic and bitter overall, while that ending is too feel good and inconsequential to the actual implications... In any case, could also be that they won't really canonize any ending and they'll just converge to her becoming a witcher anyway (even the worst one hints at her surviving), which might be seen as lazy, but I don't mind if it makes sense and the result is good. Regarding anything else, I'l just wait to see how they explain and justify things -- no sense in goong into a spiral of negativity because you particularly can't imagine how X thing could realistically happen within the constrains of that universe and previously established lore -- as long as they can truly make it work in the lore and the story is good, I'm down. Let's wait and see...
Becoming an empress is giving into destiny her father wanted the books make it clear ciri hates being used and thats all everyone except geralt wants to do with her And her father was horrible in the books there is zero reason to forgive him and do what he wants
@ he is the reason the empress ending exists and the choice that leads to is Geralt telling “he is your father” which by the books account is kind of out of character considering how he’s done He also wants ciri to be married to Voorhis something she likely isnt interested in. Ciri wants to be who she wants to be and thats why the choices that lead to her living are Geralt letting her be herself and not the child of elder blood or empress daughter of Emphyr or Laura Dona’s descendant
@@chandlerburse If you can't understand how your perceived problems just don't really apply and things can totally work in another way that doesn't involve Ciri doing absolutely everything Emhyr wants, that's your problem. Everything points to her planning to try to make a government on her terms and push for a good change using Nilfgaards resources, given how she handles the meeting and her justifications for accepting the position in the departure. I'm not going to keep repeating myself, so this will probably be my last response to you if you're just going to keep the same discourse, which simply doesn't follow, going. I, however, do agree that Geralt justifying his encouragement of her to go see Emhyr with "he is your father" was a pretty stupid line by CDPR. The game isn't perfect and they fumbled way more lines, plot points and other things than just that one, but one messed up dialogue doesn't invalidade the path as a whole -- he could've said "let's just go and end this once and for all, as it's not like he'll give up on trying to talk to you anyway", or something like that. It can easily be framed as a purely utilitarian choice to go see him, which in turn just kickstarts Ciri's change of heart and realization that going for empress is the best way to do the most good.
Wait did you say rhe game is still few years so it will not be releqsed in 2025 at the end it will be 2026 or 2027 ? If that so then ee can grt gta 6 before this but idk if gta 6 runs 60 fps smooth on my ps5 standart i mean if the optimize the game so good then yes
They probably just downgraded Ciri to make her be a Geralt 2.0 . i think if she stayed with her elder blood it would be better for her character and wouldnt break any pre estabilished lore
It doesn’t make any sense to make Ciri into a mutated Witcher. It is an extreme lore break and an unnecessary one at that. Even in the books the is a scene where Ciri is given water/poison of the broklion forest. Normally it transforms girls into Dryads, but when Ciri drinks it she doesn’t transform. Her elder blood nullifies the process and also the trial of grasses would be not possible to be executed onher. Her fate is already set in stone to be entwined with the elves. She is practically a Demi goddess in human form. When you study Celtic mythology and especially the Irish mythology then you would find out Ciri is reincarnation of a goddess. In Celtic mythology sometimes deities appear in human forms as well to teach a lesson. She should be a bridge between elves and humans.
A bit weird that they say that they really care about canon and lore, but the one thing that a lot of lore fans don't agree with is Ciri going thru the trial of the grasses at her age and actually surviving (given that in canon lore girls always died from it when attempted, but now suddenly because of a mcguffin called Elder Blood she suddenly can become one? That's a bit far fetched).
Not so much surviving, but it affecting her. In the books Ciri is forced to drink from the waters of Brokilon, a substance that transforms girls into dryads. It just does nothing to her. This is why it would be weird for potions and such to affect her at all, there is an established example that they just don't work on her.
Well in the interview they say everything you see in the trailer will be explained sufficiently so I am guessing they wrote a good explanation how Ciri can have Witcher powers without betraying the lore. Which they showed they had a very good grasp of with the first three games.
Everything seems good so far, We hope for the best. As someone who always think critically and never believed something just because everyone is believed in, I do my own diggn and come with my own opinion, Which what i always tell people to do, is to actually think critically, Becasue its the only way to find what you actually like and what you actually dislike. It doesn't matter if people think your right or wrong, if you think your right and do your own diggn to find informations and analyze it. That's all that matter. Don't let people influence your thoughts.
Is The Witcher IV just a placeholder name as it makes zero sense otherwise when it doesn’t Star Geralt of Rivia. Substituting Siri in place of Geralt should mean a title change surely? Otherwise it is a direct insult to the character of Geralt. It is not a continuation of his story so therefore it is not The Witcher 4.
The trailer was a huuuuge surprise for all of us , I think! I always thought that Ciri was the natural choice for the next protagonist, since she is a major character in the books! I can't understand the people who are ranting about not wanting Ciri as a protagonist, I think she will be great! And, if any girl can pass the TofG, it is definitely Ciri! Great interview!
With how many people that are talking about the Witcher 4 right now it’s really surprising that this interview isn’t getting a lot more attention than it is
I’m sorry I know you took the effort to fly out and go do this interview. But these kinds of interviews are just so pointless- obviously if the company is hosting you, feeding you, giving you access to them, you’re not going anywhere out of bounds. This isn’t interviewing, it’s advertising.
I'm very concerned and confused about this game. Why Ciri? Why not a new character completely? Why appeal to a new audience when you already have a strong base?
Not really. Yes, she probably will not able to teleport through time anymore, but as you saw in trailer, she NEEDED witcher senses to kill that monster, as a human she wouldn't have a chance.
This interview came out over 12 hours ago yet there are still people crying about "not following the lore". Thanks a lot for this man and your voice is amazing!
I think this was a bad decision, not many ppl are interested in having ciri as the main protagonist. I think they may have dropped the bag with this one
I believe she's wearing the School of the Lynx pendant. Can't wait to learn more about how and why she made the switch from the Wolves. Maybe she wanted to start a new path with a not so established school to mold new ways
But people who made it great are still there (Quests Designers, Senior Writers, Composers, Lore Designers, Environment Artists) it's a very old news that most of the red engine staff left, but that's expected. They still Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty that proves they are still good at what they do best , Narratives and Characters !
@@UA-camCensors i think you are just delusional, why would that ever be true ? Cdpr has made cyberpunk 2077 which even with its launch being rough has then become both a qualitatively incredible game, not only with paid expansions but especially with free updates that literally improved every aspect of the game, and also sold a lot so why would cdpr ever flounder ? Also, it isn't like every single one of cdpr developers from tw3 left them, many are still there and many returned ( kalemba is one of them if i'm.not mistaken)
Lots of concerns. Adults can't survive the Trial of Grasses, no can woman. Ciri is an adult woman. Um. :( Changing pre-established lore is never a good idea. If they REALLY wanted Ciri to be the main character, they shouldn't have made her a Witcher and they shouldn't call in Witcher IV. And them creating a new way to do it, is just as bad. By doing that you are undoing the entire pre-established lore and that isn't good. We found a new way to make Witchers and now women and adults can become them if they want!! ...lame.. very very lame. The idea that only 3 out of 10 boys survive this horrible and painful process is heavy and deep. Them saying they are respecting the lore and then doing this.. red flag for me. Seems like they just wanted to make a female lead and not only that, as they said, more powerful than Geralt. Honestly they should just bring Geralt out of retirement. It isn't like he would actually stay retired. Anyone that thinks that, doesn't know the character. "No Witcher ever die in his own bed."
Ciri isn't just a normal woman though, she has elder blood, she's unique in that respect. She was stronger than Geralt in W3 aready lol. Also she always wanted to be a Witcher and was raised by a witcher. It makes perfect narrative sense to me. CDproject has handled the Witcher lore just fine for so many years, I doubt they're not going to respect it in W4
They are not disregarding the lore tho. It's never stated women can't survive the trial only said that when they tried women died so they decided to focus on men only instead and started to engineer the trial for men so it would never work for women due to the engineering. Being an adult isn't a problem either, never fully said adults WILL die if they take the trial. Avallach literally underwent the mutations in witcher 3 as an adult elf and survived when yennefer performed it on him. Yennefer clearly is very skilled at it and knows how to perform the trial. Geralt also took another mutagen at around 100 years old in blood and wine. There's no lore tears in ciri becoming a witcher and it makes sense for her character to become a witcher. I know you do not have a problem with Avallach and geralt undergoing these things in witcher 3 so stop trying to care like you care about the lore
Jo Wyatt had the perfect voice for Ciri, and you changed here into a voice noone like? I would guess Jo Wyatt feel sad about this. And i'm pretty sure Ciri had a much better face looking like Witcher 3, and all that work got deleted in favor for a much worse face... I hate this woke DEI bullshit, the best person for the jobb is the right thing! I should not get a job becuse i'm black or female if the other guy/girl performs better...
First off I loved the voice actor. This isn’t everyone’s opinion. Second Geralt in the witcher 3 trailer does NOT look like what he does in game. If you look at early development footage of witcher 3 Geralt went through changes until they reached the final look. This game is in early development, chill. I haven’t gotten any woke vibes yet. Just keep an eye on it.
She looks and sounds perfect to me to be honest, she obviously has matured. How did you jump from all that to DEI? What has that got to do with how Ciri looks and sounds? Wyatt was British, and this new voice actress is Irish. I don't see how the change is DEI.
I think she looks good in the trailer, and I'm not really sure how replacing her voice actress is woke lol. People like you are why I can't take anyone who cries about something being "woke" seriously. If you can't express your views and opinions without boiling them down to a catch-all term that has lost all meaning from flagrant overuse and various buzzwords, perhaps you should just keep them to yourself because you are adding literally nothing to the conversation.
For those that have questions or concerns, remember this is a first look reveal, we still have some years to go before release and the answers to the how and what are coming but we’ll have to wait awhile longer
and what we saw is not a gameplay, it's not a game, it's just cinematic rendered on unreal engine 5 with witcher 4 village / npc and design IDEAS ;)

yes this os a first look, I wouldn’t be concerned yet, plenty of time to get more details
Hey Parris, great interview, thank you! My only feedback is to get two mics next time, and or ones like you have. Gosia looked like she was left out a little, and the audio could have been better if it was on their jacket. Otherwise, thank you!
We’re so back
Thank Parris!!! Great interview
Great questions G!
I’m so happy they are going to respect the lore and what Sapkowski created and that everything has answers hinting of how Ciri is a Witcher. That was my only concern
This man is plugged in foreal.
Omg Parris this was such an awesome interview! I am so hyped for the Witcher 4 LFG 🤯
Were those actual in-game Unreal Engine 5 graphics in the trailer, or was it just a CINEMATIC trailer? Like Assassin's Creed trailers look nothing like the actual game, for instance. It was very hard to tell LOL. Thanks, Parris!
Holy crap congrats Parris! Glad to see some of the CDPR people doing these interviews, and giving us more info on the game.
Make Geralt and Ciri both playable. DO NOT TURN GERALT INTO A CUTSCENE REFERENCE..
Why on Earth would you hire a games journalist as your lore designer
awesome interview!
Fantastic interview, Parris 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
As a huge fan of the witcher(books and games), I was disappointed that ciri will be the main character. I wanted it to be a totally new character who has nothing to do with Geralt. I just dont like this kind of fanservice.
I'm prepared to see balatro in tw4.
Awesome interview!!! Congrats to Parris and to CDP, its GREAT to know that the crew developing and marketing for this franchise loves this universe as much as we do! Huge thanks to you all, and many blessons in this next years of development!! ❤
Someone needs to send this interview to the haters and grifters.
true, people are so mad for no reason
@idkaccountname3 over a CG trailer for a game that won't be out for a few years too.
I dont get it i would get it even people were worried about a buggy launch. But people are acting like CD ProjectRed dosent know how to do good story telling. Every one of their games has spectacular story telling in every game they have made.
It will only make them more incensed. The "anti woke" crowd has been raging since the trailer released.
@@mattmn2891because “woman bad, it’s woke!! DEI!!!!”, that’s literally all they have to say about anything ever
No point. Grifters won't care. Farming outrage gives them an easy reliable payout.
I know you mentioned UE5, but that was only a trailer it didnt show any gameplay so although the graphics could be amazing, it wont look like the trailer at all.
I wish cd projekt red had released a remaster of Witcher 2 by now for ps5. Never played the Witcher 2 :( since I'm on ps.
Jeszcze gra nie wyszła a już wywiadów udzielają...
Great interview
She just saved the world at the end of the Witcher 3
What does she have to prove, to risk her life becoming a witcher, instead of just using her elder blood abilities or source magic?
Because that's what she wants
she hates the powers she had, she mentioned this in the game and also in the books. She always wanted to become the witcher.
@@Krafcik226 yeah everyone is into her for her blood, not so out of character for her to just decide to mutate in spite of these
Yeah, she's emotionally attached to the idea of being a witcher, but her magical powers have negative associations.
LFG😁
Nice work Parris !
Thanks!
fantanstic interview dude,I also cant wait!!!!
Becoming an empress is giving into destiny her father wanted the books make it clear ciri hates being used and thats all everyone except geralt wants to do with her
And her father was horrible in the books there is zero reason to forgive him and do what he wants
@@chandlerburse Nope, she doesn't have to be shackled by her father's purposes or forgive him at all.
@ he is the reason the empress ending exists and the choice that leads to is Geralt telling “he is your father” which by the books account is kind of out of character considering how he’s done
He also wants ciri to be married to Voorhis something she likely isnt interested in.
@ Ciri doesnt want to be dictated by anyone but herself
thx for that interview. It kinda put me at ease.... i am not so worried anymore
So many incels in the comments, I always wanted CIRI in the WITCHER 4 to be the main protagonists since playing blood n wine in 2016.
Only in 2016? I played in 1016. And .16. And -.16
@@Creationseed9 no not only you sped 🙄

@@vladmods y'all the only sooks offended, don't deflect that onto me haha.
I hope before the interview someone let Paris know this doesn't take place in the Path of Exile universe.
What an awesome vid 🤘
So Hyped
Nice one Parris!
Wow even they seem to be exited to play the game 😂😂
Good to see them passionate about this can’t wait for the release in a couple years 🔥
You should’ve asked them about gwint man 😂 hopefully they make it an even better then in Witcher 3.
This is awesome! Ton of info I didn’t think they would share yet. Great interview
Great interview! Congrats!

Nice jacket, Parris. I hope you didnt butcher too many sofas manufacturing it.
Witcher 4 ❌
Wokeshit 4 ✅
Very blury video
That's a difference beetween lore fan and lore expert. These days avarage Andy on tweeter thinks he knows lore better than Sapkowski himself.
Damn Parris, some banger interviews!
A few years later but they changed her VO
My body is ready 😩
Thank you for the interview and CDPR guys for the insights. You have my trust and faith to create an epic game!
Will the music and soundtrack live up to the legend?
With how many people that are talking about the Witcher 4 right now it’s really surprising that this interview isn’t getting a lot more attention than it is
A Witcher is a male
Nice
I’m sorry I know you took the effort to fly out and go do this interview. But these kinds of interviews are just so pointless- obviously if the company is hosting you, feeding you, giving you access to them, you’re not going anywhere out of bounds. This isn’t interviewing, it’s advertising.
I'm very concerned and confused about this game. Why Ciri? Why not a new character completely? Why appeal to a new audience when you already have a strong base?
The “strong base” appreciates ciri as the mc
Because the poursue money instead of art. The trailer looked a like a pale imitation of the Killing monsters trailer
Great interview. Respectful, balanced, and you gave them the space to talk comfortably.
Really great setting for Ciri's story!
Where the F is geralt
At the end of Witcher 3 they made it perfectly clear he wasn’t going to continue as the main character.
Waiting for The Witcher 4 😎
If you get another chance, maybe ask about her Elder Blood p owers. Seems like becoming a witcher is a downgrade for her.
Not really. Yes, she probably will not able to teleport through time anymore, but as you saw in trailer, she NEEDED witcher senses to kill that monster, as a human she wouldn't have a chance.
They look so excited to talk about it
This interview came out over 12 hours ago yet there are still people crying about "not following the lore". Thanks a lot for this man and your voice is amazing!
I think this was a bad decision, not many ppl are interested in having ciri as the main protagonist. I think they may have dropped the bag with this one
Paris lookin like he's running for Govenor of Kinshasa.
Day f'n one buy! Collectors edition once available.
Great interview.
This is not the same CDPR that brought us The first trilogy and it shows.
I believe she's wearing the School of the Lynx pendant. Can't wait to learn more about how and why she made the switch from the Wolves. Maybe she wanted to start a new path with a not so established school to mold new ways
congratulations for actually having the opportunity to talk to the higher ups. not everyone gets the chance. even when they have millions of subs.
I hope Witcher 4 wil be dark as hell.
The only gripe I had with the witcher 3 was boss fights felt repetitive after death march the moves felt linear even in blood and wine
Director looks cool. I gotta finish Witcher 3 DLC now
Cannot wait looks amazing it had to be ciri anyway
Awful decision to make Ciri a real Witcher as opposed to one in name only. Won't even mention the other disaster.
The people who made the Witcher triolgy they are not on cp red
But people who made it great are still there (Quests Designers, Senior Writers, Composers, Lore Designers, Environment Artists) it's a very old news that most of the red engine staff left, but that's expected. They still Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty that proves they are still good at what they do best , Narratives and Characters !
Yup, all the best talent went o Warhorse Studio.
So as CDPR flounders Warhorse will take the Mantle
You're 100% OP. CDPR is crumbling all their best talent left for Warhorse Studio
@@UA-camCensors How often are you going to keep mentioning them in the comments under this post? Is Warhorse Studios paying you for that?
I think she looks good in the trailer, and I'm not really sure how replacing her voice actress is woke lol.
People like you are why I can't take anyone who cries about something being "woke" seriously. If you can't express your views and opinions without boiling them down to a catch-all term that has lost all meaning from flagrant overuse and various buzzwords, perhaps you should just keep them to yourself because you are adding literally nothing to the conversation.
Witcher 4 is going to the redemption arc for the Netflix show 😂 can’t wait
I hope they dont girl boss(bull shit or retcon lore) to make this withchering possible.
Please make this explanation make sense.
