    Thx Paul 👍
    Ive been using the SF2 for a few months now love em. The ability to change the tip colour in seconds is brilliant especially at this time of the year 😉

    Thank you best review I’ve seen , I do like to see diagrams , as I get older I find difficult to remember things , explaining the shottting patterns is so useful and explained well, thank you

    Hi Paul, another good vid , what diameter main line do you use

    • @paulstacklereviews1695

      I tend to make up most rigs on 0.16mm Horizon, my dedicated carp rigs on 0.20mm. It’s very rare I go below 0.10mm hooklength which I don’t find is a problem attached to 0.16mm.

    Thanks Paul, just a quickie, what is the silicon that you use on the tip, any particular type / brand, Thanks

    • @paulstacklereviews1695
      @paulstacklereviews1695  2 роки тому

      It’s 0.6mm, Sensas I think, one of those small clear plastic boxes with different sized silicone in. Don’t buy one as the only ones I use are 0.6mm and 0.7mm, other smaller sizes are unused!

    Hi Paul notice now in the SF 3 they do a 0.1 , have got some now ,could you please recommend a shotting patten, and some advice please
    part testing it today it takes 4 no 11 , but my problem is getting bites ,on our local pond I am after roach and skimmers 6 ft deep , just struggling for bites, fishing an area close to Lilly pads , tried 4 swims all in the 6 ft range , maggots , caster , mainly plus trying an expanders , now and again , very little ground bait no pellets , conditions alter each session I have noticed drennan do some very good diagrams of rigs, keep up the interesting rewarding videos ,and advice , plus all the other ones on your site. rig is 3 -2 -24 hook 4-6 inch hook length , floats range 0.15 to o.5 All the best from Martin not sure on grammar and spellings

      Don’t assume you need to fish near lillys. I’d have 2 lines:
      1. Expander pellet (4mm) line feeding small balls of micros. 0.5g float with 1.5mm bristle. 4 inch hooklength (0.12mm) size 16 hook (say Drennan Maggot plus or Preston sfl). Shotting no 8 shot or stotz, first one above the hooklength then every inch, 8 of them a good starting point. Dot the float right down. Can also try double maggot or corn on this line. Try in open water.
      2. Maggot/ caster over small amounts of groundbait with an odd maggot in. SF3 0.4g. 2 no 10 stotz and 6 no 9 stotz, 6 inch hooklength (0.10mm), 16/18 hook. You want a slower fall of this bait so my rig is no10 above hooklength, second no 10 15cm further up, no 9 at 28cm, no 9 at 38cm, no 9 at 45cm, no 9 at 50cm, no 9 at 52cm, last no 9 at 54cm. This is a tapered pattern. I know it sounds ultra precise but it’s not set in stone and using stotz means you can move them if needed. Lay the rig in and let everything settle slowly.
      Don’t be afraid to try each rig on each line if struggling sometimes the change of presentation gets a bite.
      Hope that’s understandable and helps.

      @@martinhenchcliff4833 I use shot on my carp/pellet rigs and stotz on my silvers rigs. I rarely move shot on pellet/carp rigs whereas with silvers I find myself moving stotz around to alter presentation. You don’t have to use both, I used stotz for 20 years for everything but have gone back to shot as when landing carp I got sick of the stotz moving. If you do use both be aware shot doesn’t necessarily weigh the same as the equivalent size stotz. I use ballebini shot and a number 10 weighs about the same as a number 9 stotz.

    Paul. Another nice review. You missed one crucial issue. What's the stem made of ? Wire ? Carbon ? Plastic ? Thanks ☺️
