Cheers for another great vid Ben (and Tina). Glad you returned to detailed analysis, it's your U.S.P! I'm sure it's much harder work than doing a Vital RAW but no one else does it and that's why we all come here.

I reckon these videos are actually becoming very valuable for the racers... Ben probably looks at these sections in more detail than most of the riders do

Dear cathro, please ask some suspension guys if they ever make „placebo-adjustments“ to the suspension of the riders. Like a click to the left and after that to the right when nobody is watching. (Only if the suspension guy knows that the setup is already perfect)

I feel your analysis is lacking one of the biggest keys in all of racing:
· The most important part of any course is the final corner before a full throttle (or "no brakes") part.
It's entirely pointless to go around sending gaps and risking a crash before tight parts. Some DH riders rely too much on their feelings and on looking cool rather than focusing on what racing is all about. Even Red Bull TV misses it on their broadcasts, always timing a supertight section that most of the time tells you NOTHING about the race.
It'd be cool for you to buy some kind of "speedcam" and start using it before wide open sections. You'd see how much damage being bad at corner exit can cause.
@Ganiscol - You'd be surprised at how damn "one-speed" most tech bits are. There's a "limit speed" and going faster will result in the rider getting off-sync. In most tech sections, you can perfectly see that 5-10 riders are on that limit speed, literally gaining NOTHING.
Meanwhile, corners are a matter of feeling and tuning. Wanna know why Gwin rides so stiff? It's the best for speed around corners, it's the best to maximize momentum at the points where it actually matters.
DH riders, while skilled and fit, aren't exactly clever, we've seen them time and time again pedal like idiots (arms wide open, chest as wide as it gets) while some dude making himself small and "looking lame" was outpacing them (remember Croatia?). The sport is far from being comparable to most forms of racing sports, they haven't perfected it, they're doing shit just because "it feels right".
Please stop using red for highlighting stuff on track, it doesn't work for colourblind people :(
