    6Qt is the right size for my 1 person family. 8Qt probably good for a family of 4 or more. I can't eat a whole chicken, so it's moot. I don't eat rice, so having no rice setting is moot. But also the price. 8Qt was $190CAD. 6Qt was $100CAD. Almost double for a bit more space but a lot more kitchen shelf space, which in my small kitchen is limited. Little enough room for storage as well. The 8 is HUGE. But looking forward to making some foods that I will enjoy with my 6 Qt. Thanks for the video...

    Great overview! I also bought a 6qt originally and just had to update to an 8qt... buying the 6qt was one of the only regrets I've had in trying to save money. Don't have a lot of time to cook, so I like to make large portions to last me a week or more... and 8 qt is just more accommodating. Would actually probably like a 10qt even better, but for some reason the price ramps waaay up for those.

    I've done a fair amount of watching videos and looking at reviews. "Cooking with Lori" pressure cooked a 5lb chicken in the 6 qt stainless steel insert and browned it using the air fryer lid after. Looked beautiful! You can use the air fryer lid on the stainless steel insert with a trivet or other device to raise the food up a bit and allow the air to circulate or just have enough sauce on the bottom to prevent burning. I'm single and have an instant pot already so I think the 6 qt. will be sufficient plus save money and space in my small kitchen. I don't intend to use the inner pot anyway as I like to stay away from non stick surfaces. Not a perfect product for sure but many seem to do just fine.

    We bought the 8 qt. from Kohl's Black Friday sale. When we opened it, we wondered if we should have bought the smaller 6q qt. since it is usually just me and my husband. After watching your video, we will keep the 8 qt. We definitely want to cook whole chickens and large roasts or pork loin in it, and it looks like the 8 qt. is the way to go! Thank you!

    I am trying to figure out how much more you can air fry in the 8qt vs the 6. Does anybody know? I know they both come with an insert so you could theoretically cook a portion of fries and a portion of wings, for example, but do the items on the insert cook as well as the items placed in the base of the air fryer basket?

    Those giant instapots take up alot of counter top space. And if it's just you and your girlfriend, you might end up finding that the 6 qt is the perfect size for everyday use. I have a 3 qt and it's just me. I end up making frozen leftovers for a few days. They say the cooking time is identical for all size pots but i think my little 3 qt cooks much faster that the larger sizes. My friend and I made mashed potatoes last year for Thankgiving and hers took 3 times as long as mine. It's something to think about.

      Did you cook the same amount of stuff in each? Was the cooking on high vs. low heat. Or high vs. low pressure? It probably takes more time to build pressure in the larger pot if you cook minimal amounts.

      @@BeatTheBush "Was the cooking on high vs. low heat. Or high vs. low pressure?" High pressure is just more heat. (When you have water.) 😀 It doesn't actually control the pressure in any way. It can only control the heat and monitor the temperature. Which makes me wonder if you can cook at the higher magical "15 PSI" if you use just SLIGHTLY more heat and a heavier pressure release weight.

    • @fitybux4664
      @fitybux4664 Рік тому

      I'd doubt it. There is no 120V/240V switch, and the AC practically feeds the resistive plate directly. (Which means the plate is at some known resistance, which would be too small for 240V. It would likely melt at 240V.)

    Great video,The 6 quart will hold a whole chicken on air fryer mode just don’t use the air fryer pot ,just use the regular stainless steel pot with a trivet as long as the chicken is elevated off the bottom air will circulate around it by using the trivet. But I do see what the video is saying about that basket it is kind of small on the fifth Court but if you’re doing onion rings or fries that’s kind of what that basket is for or wings. However you cannot get too many wings in there on the 6 quart though .
