I just got this game today and I'm going to check out your updated guide BUT I absolutely love lightning builds and I'm too new to know what class/spec you're playing in this video, do you mind telling me? It looks like exactly what I'd love to run with!!
Wow. I was looking for a video to explain this and your video did the trick in a clear and concise way. Nice job! Going to look for your end gear version that you mentioned (hope it exists lol).
This makes Last Epoch so enjoable for me. On my first playthroughs i always played with a general filter. Had to analyze every rare item and magic item... I also only played mage for 100 hours. Now i will play a bit more mage and will dive into other characters after that. Thank you again!
Hi. First I want to thank you for the video. I have a question. Why do I see normal, magical items after I've hidden them? Or it's because of an affix. Can this be fixed?
It's possibly because a different aspect of your filter is showing them. For example if you have something to show all 1h swords without an affix filter it will show normal/magic versions. Alternatively, is your lootfilter on? (I forget the hotkey to turn filters on/off in LE it's Z in PoE).
The idea is to know specifically that you pick up that what you need while you level up; once in the late game, when you're farming items that first are interesting to trade for having reasonable value for other classes, but also secound, are having much bigger variety of possible stats - than, there you are right and you'd want to pick up other classes items also. Early level items even including Uniques - often aren't worth keeping when they're of no use for your actual gameplay, and it's easy to have a cluttered stash full of trash you're not using, to mentally block people from being sufficient with their chars. at the same time, the loot below lvl 60 in most cases would fit said char class better when having it drop on actually playing it, because from playing you have a much better feel for which stats really are worth keeping and which might look like, but aren't really worth it. - And Shards you get much more than you need over time anyway. (Except +Skill Shards, which yes, those specifically are good to farm and have loot filter set up for, but it's not interesting to a beginner, between lvl 60 and 100 that is something you'd have your loot filter show you and dismantle to collect shards on.)
Also, if you want to have those items still show up, you simply do not set the filter to hide, and only recolour those items you specifically want to have. i normally have hide on everything of normal (white) quality, followed by magick (blue) quality once i have everything on my char sheet in Rare (yellow) Quality which is where you aim to be with most chars. The Rares should stay on Show, unless you only farm for Gold, Shards, Uniques. Which, for example, you'd do at the stage of having only Legendary items on your own char sheet already, so something Char Lvl 75+ to 100, you might be at a stage where only Exalted for merging and uniques are interesting loot at all, and the clutter of all those Rares feels like it's slowing you down and blocking progress. - The loot filter is supposed to make your life easier, and only when it does accomplish that, you want to use it. you can always turn it off, or Toggle it off with a Button Press (default is "x"), after Boss kills and such stuff, in order to check if there is something you want and the filter overlooked. But that happens way more on Path of Exile, where you most often use filters written by other people. the golden thing here, is you can adjust it ingame very quickly, by the button macro: "strg+f" if your filter actually blocks out to much or to little stuff.
the high Rarities he actually explains at the end of the videos, the command line must be above the Class Hide filter line and than it works just fine. :)

I searched for such an guide quite a long time, very helpful, thank you!
Just picked up the game this weekend. Was very overwhelmed by the loot system. This video really helped, thank you!
Glad to hear it!

Old video I know, just started playing, great videos, THANK YOU lol
Got Last Epoch two days ago and loving it. Void Knight level 51 at chapter 9.
Hopefully this helps you sort some filter stuff out. If you're looking for more endgame filter things that video will be out tomorrow.
yep, thats how you explain how to use and set up a loot filter for newbies like me, thx :)
You're welcome!
filtering based on mods because items dropped ID, what a novel concept. I wonder if there are any other major ARPG that could learn from this...
You're certainly living up to your name.
xD Indeed!
bro thank you so much!
You're welcome.
I admit, LE's built-in Lootfilter with easy application is the best QoL in any ARPG to date.
It's an absolutely superb feature.

@@Tenkiei I looked at the filter ... I added additional conditioning to it to show only rare, epic and unique items. It worked.
But why do you want to hide items for other classes? Dont you want to keep good items for other classes to use them for them?
