Hey Raxx, our team has been sharing this video internally and is over the moon that you're enjoying the game to this degree. It's a huge energy boost to see something like this pop up that we weren't expecting. Thanks for the video - we appreciate it. We look forward to serving you and your community great ARPG content for years to come! - Judd | Game Director for Last Epoch
Bought the game last year and im glad i supported your company! Cant wait to start playing on release. Your plan for Trade/SSF is out of the box thinking tbh.
As someone who started playing ARPGs with the D4 beta, I immediately turned to Last Epoch waiting for D4 full release. Instantly fell in love, it’s so good. Actually ruined D4 for me as the entire time I was playing I was thinking “Why can’t diablo do this, LE can” So happy more and more people are turning towards this game
Those moments when you find that item that changes everything is what made D2 so much fun. I see it alive and well here in Last Epoch. Grim Dawn was another game that gave me chills even 500+ hours into doing the game.
Grim Dawn has such an amazing story and soundtrack too. And the rotating camera, holy shit I love that in arpgs! I wish more had it... I only know of grim dawn, inquisitor martyr, and titan quest 1 with camera mod that do unfortunately
You had me at “hi everyone”. I am so happy you are playing a game you are excited to play. It makes all the difference for you and the viewers. This game is on my radar after I close out a couple of other games first. Hell yes, I am looking forward to your guides on this game. You have an incredible ability to be very in depth but still make it easy to understand concepts in your guides. Let’s go!
The crafting system is so extremely flexible, and makes the process of leveling alts smoother. You don't have to wait for a godly drop to start building something, as you can basically turn any item into something viable, or easily buff areas you're weak in. It makes the process of experimenting with builds in HC a lot more interesting.
Poe has a similar system, its where they got the idea. Poe just has a bit more rng involved but some deterministic crafting as well. Having played both extensively poe is still the better game by a good bit, but last epoch will offer a good bit of fun, it will just dwindle after a while. And there's no real social aspect or trade economy, that's a huge deal in poe that makes it feel alive
Never understood this eBay Etsy gamer mindset. We (OG ARPG players) want to LOOT THE GEAR, not play baker, blacksmith, alchemist. It's a kill monsters and find loot style of game, ARPG, not go shopping for ingredients and tinker. ACTION RPG, not Crafting RPG. Whole point of the genre, slick combat, fast pace, instant reward. Last Epoch was so bad me and my friend got to christen it as the 1st game we have ever refunded on steam. 😂
So excited for you to cover this game. I've dabbled with it and I feel like it's the perfect mix between simplicity and complexity. PoE just feels too much for me sometimes, and we don't talk about D4. So for anyone that wants some complexity, that doesn't require a math degree. This is it.
Last epoch is an incredible work of passion. With its geniously deep yet simple systems it's like a love letter to game design. I wish this game and compamy the absolute best!
It took me all of about 10 mintues of playing Last Epoch to become hooked. The forging system and loot filter are absolutely fantastic...not to mention the skill & passive trees. They do a great job at providing some depth to the game without overwhelming you.
Hey Raxx. I love Last Epoch, been playing since very early beta. Just to give an idea of how much the devs value feedback. During the very early days of beta, they sponsored a large PoE streamer and hung out with everyone in chat. They literally implemented some (smaller) suggestions the very next day. So if you were ever to make a list of improvements and thoughts like you did for D4 before release, they'd take it very seriously.
I recently started playing this game myself, and I've loving it. It's proper, addictive, video game fun. Also, the QoL is insanely good. As you say, it sets the bar for every other new game in this genre.
Last Epoch is SOOOO well made. It's the first game in YEARS where I can play "SSF" and still REALLY enjoy my time. I'm usually a big trading guy, but LE did their crafting system and loot filter so well that it doesn't even matter if I'm trading or not, the fact that you can literally make your own items and have a progression path possible this way is just awesome. The only downside for me is that after 100+ hours, I felt I was chasing a goal that didn't matter. I'd like to see a bit more "end-game" and "pinnacle" content added, other than dungeons bosses and Orobyss
Been a beta player since it was available, like POE it’s an enthusiasts arpg. As I get older I finding it more difficult to carve out the time requirements to build such a character. So I’m really happy your here now to grease the wheels 🛞 of progression for guys like me !
@@thenetpagan they need the money from the shop to pay for the bug fixes. Why does everyone tilt as soon as a shop is installed in a game. You dont have to buy anything. And it is still a company that needs to make some money in order to continue development.
@@ericvandersteen6647its a bad trend, as weve seen in other things such as diabhole immoral. Eventually microtransactions are going to be the end of gaming.
@@shadf7902 You're a goofball who doesn't understand how companies are run and the costs of continuing development. You're just aping what all the other gAmErS say... again we ask you, how are they to continue to hire people and fix bugs if there's 0 money coming in? At some point in your life yer gonna have to come to the realization that nothing is free. All this stuff gets built using money. If you don't like the shop, don't use the shop. If you don't like the game, don't play the game. But a blanket "aLl sToReS aRe bAd" is the dumbest teen-level take constantly made by people. Grow up.
I'm onto Last Epoch since early beta (7.4.X-ish, I believe) and I've been trying to get friends and others to play this game for years! So happy to see you try the game and give it some recognition! Also, I haven't seen Raxx so excited in a video in a long while... I'm so happy for you, man!
I picked up Last Epoch also and am really enjoying the game. Since D4 went on hospice, this looks like a good alternative, even better than D4. Glad to hear you are enjoying it also. Decent depth, good crafting options, great loot filter, while avoiding the mundane tasks that were so evident in D4. Looking forward to your build guides and tutorials.
Hahahaha.....it sure did the game has only 1% of his player base now. I'm hoping they can bring me back with these reported two dev streams where they plan to SHOCK us with all the new content. I'm not very hopeful but I'll watch and see.
Don't you guys like to farm same aspects over and over again and break your eyes trying to find, if it is already in the stash? Don't you like sitting in a town for eternity. looking at all the yellow items between each dungeon to compare affixes which you don't even know if they will be good after upgrade?
Hey Raxx, so glad to see you come aboard! Its a truly fun game with incredible potential. Wait til you read their manifesto/plans for seasons and how you choose a faction - basically magic find faction or trade faction.. wont go into detail here you can read about it but its such an innovative idea to solve the problem of nerfed drop rates due to trade being in game - now you can choose your mode instead of having to play a different game altogether. And the unique/legendary crafting.. such a cool thing imo. These devs are awesome. Enjoy Raxx!
@@shadf7902 yes and yes. I believe they have 5 different pet types and an item that changes your wolves into squirrels. You can also play as scyther and run around creating tornado lightning. Its a good time
Yes, druids have shapeshifting and pets, although the beastmaster sub-class has a lot more pet options. You can also control them, to make them attack/move. Summons in this game are a million miles beyond diablo.@@shadf7902
do u think game will still boom out if they polish a lot of things? i like this game but when i played coop/multi was unplayable so idk this game was out for so long i just hope it wont die
I genuinely think last epoch will blow up this coming December and I think it’s an excellent opportunity for Rax to be one of the forefront content creators for last epoch
I met guys from the Dev team this year on Gamescom and they are just an amazing team. I'm thrilled for Raxx to continue doing content for the Last Epoch!
Absolutely loved the game, been a few months since I was slamming it. It was honestly quite buggy with a number of the more extreme skill interactions I was experimenting with, so I decided to give it a little more time. Definitely feel this is a game that will be incredible once they've had time to iron everything out. They've been quite ambitious with the skill interactions so I'm not surprised there's a few broken interactions slipping through. Going to come back and play more of this again soon :D
I’ve put 500 hours into the game since 2019. The game was pretty solid right from the start, but as others have said, the improvements and engagement coming from the devs has really made the game into an amazing one. The crafting system is both complex and simple, allowing for players of all skill levels to extract some level of excitement and accomplishment from making items what you want. Barely anything in the game feels “clunky”, and whatever did in the past has been fixed. Tons of “viable” builds capable of beating the hardest bosses in the game, and plenty of interesting mechanics and content to engage with (e.g., all of the dungeons accessed with a key - keys you can right-click on to be shown where it is, and tp to once you have the waypoint). Looking forward to seeing more content creators! The Curse and Perry the Pig have been great, but always nice to see more.
Been watching your last epoch vids, you got me! I'm going to give it a shot. The fact that a dev has been in at least 2 of the streams I've seen you do also struck positively with me. Not only were they there, but also helping/giving info. Shows they care and are listening to the players.
I have been playing Last epoch for 200 hours so far, its not as simple as D3 but not as complicated as PoE. The game feels very rewarding and respects your time give it a try
I had no idea what i was doing at first but it didnt even matter. I just played through it and had fun. You can actually build your very own Class/Builds without having to worry what does what. Or what effects does more damage etc. They give you all the tools you need for the game. They dont purposely waste your time and actually respects it! Raxx! Glad youre giving this game a chance. Welcome to the community! Looking forward for some more content! Cheers brother!
I was happy to read the title of this video! I know Raxx will do a phenomenal job at in providing us with the ' need to know' details. I just started playing LE recently. I chose to start with a flame minion necromancer and haven't enjoyed an ARPG this much in a long time. As I'm playing, I think about all the other classes I want to take for a spin. That is what makes for a good game.
I bought this game a while ago and did not give it enough of a chance. After your video, I gave it another shot and I can honestly say that Last Epoch is one of the best ARPGs in the market right now. Been blasting it ever since you released this video. Void knight warpath is great, highly recommend. Trying to get that exact weapon myself.
This video was fire, especially the ending on how you randomly went on a tangent and got excited about the "moments" that are mostly gone these days. Appreciate the simple awesome vid!
I agree with Raxx. This is a great game. Not as complex as POE and much better than any Diablo game. I have been playing Diablo since D1 and I absolutely enjoy Last Epoch. I have over 500 hundred hours it and have not played every character yet..guve it a try for under 35 bucks and you will see how good it is. Thanks again Raxx for covering it.
playing for a good solid 4 days, playing necro minion build, finally a game that does it well, the skill trees are amazing for each spell. very worth a try if you are doubting or bored of other similar games, get on it, worth every penny you spend
Have 419 hours in Last Epoch and loved every min. The game has come such a long way and the devs deserve a lot of credit listening to players and changing things. Looking forward to the release and the innovative trade system they want to implement,
I've got about 170 hours in last epoch and I love it. It has its endgame issues and the clunk certainly is there, but it's getting a lot better. Very excited for the release.
Been a longtime fan of Diablo, but was let down by D4, so really appreciate this recommendation! And glad to see you’re branching out. Look forward to more of your great content!
I´m playing LE for almost 3 years now and the Improvements that the Devs have made are incredible. I love every single class i´ve tried so far. And the skill-trees are absolutely insane. I´m looking forward to the official release
This guy gets it....and that's huge for a new game. I agree, the Devs listened to the player feedback and really tried hard to make it better. The quality of life improvements from the first time I played it to the second time after about an 8 month break were amazing.
i bought LE when the prerelease first came out which was several years ago at this point. I tend to come back to LE once a year and blast through for a while (as they keep updating), I havent been back to LE in a while though, now might be the time
@@dakineprotoss If you can wait a bit longer I'd actually postpone your return until December, since EHG wants to release 1.0 sometime then. Assuming there's no delays then you'll have the last two masteries, trade and maybe some more mono improvements to sink your teeth into. If it's delayed, well, might as well check it out as soon as the delay is announced.
I made an RF jugg as my first build in POE. It’s brainless but I still love it even though it’s not my style. Can’t wait to make another build. Also purchased last epoch 2 years ago. Amazing game with so much potential. Need to login again and see all the changes. Glad it’s getting some recognition from you.
I think what’s most frustrating for me is that Last Epoch began development in 2017 and it’s so far beyond what D4 is in almost every regard and Blizzard has supposedly been working on that since 2013. The only positive thing I can say about D4 over LE is that the gameplay is definitely much tighter and it’s maybe a little prettier (although that’s subjective). That’s it. Eleventh Hour Games has created a vastly better game in almost every regard than an 8,000 person AAA gaming company that can barely eek out quality of life fixes every month or two. I just don’t understand it and it really upsets me because I can see the wasted potential in D4. My hope is that Blizzard learns from this and speeds things up and it’s a much better game in a short amount of time, but we all know that feels foolhardy at best. I think D4 will eventually be a great game, but I think it will take years. Thank goodness for Eleventh Hour Games. They deserve all of the accolades and positive press from blasters like Raxx. I hope this new fanfare just keeps making the game better and better and holds Blizzards feet to an ever growing fire.
I've played several different builds through the beta and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Haven't played the latest update but looking forward to it very soon. Multiplayer, although a bit rough around the edges on launch, allowed me to bring some new players in and show them the potential. They are also now fans of the game. Truly a gem and glad to see you having fun as I've been catching up with your adventure via your vods.
YES! I had already foreseen it, but now I am sure: I will not be alone in this game and I am very happy that others see this in this game too!!! Wonderful and I wish everyone a lot of fun with it!
Yo man, you've had a big impact on the game. I started a few days ago after watching you and DM discuss it. Every day in global chat there are multiple people talking about how they just started because of your videos/streams. Loving the game so far, thanks for showing it to us.
I'm really enjoying it. You just get the feeling that if you put in the effort you can get things you want to try. Difficulty is scaleable to your taste. Mobs and environments looks continuously improving.
I have a lot of hours into last epoch one of the coolest things I have seen and felt very happy about was in global chat the devs are speaking a lot answering questions giving tips and tricks super nice people
@@yerpyerp yes there is a global chat guild chat local chat (from the last time I was on) and the devs are pretty active in the global chat typically after a huge update or before one to make sure everything is running as it should ( they play there own game)
That's something I love and think every game should inspire to be. 'Easy to learn, difficult to master' seemed to be the norm back in the days, but now it's rare.
I'm excited for videos and content for Last Epoch from you Raxx. D4 needs... a lot before I return to it willingly when there are other such great gaming options out there to spend my time on.
Hit my breaking point with D4 about a month before you. Did the same thing, went to check out Last Epoch and I haven't looked back. This game is amazing! I've encountered quite a few bugs and things like that, but it doesn't even matter to me because the core game is just so good. I've made 6 characters already and have plans for so many more.
I think there's a lot of us, I've talked to a few people in game (people actually talk to each other in public chat it's nice) and they all came back with "we're all here because of D4". Last Epoch is a great game so far with a great community, really looking forward to what it will become. I think the ARPG world is in for a surprise when it goes live.
@@shadf7902 True, but the official launch will give it a lot of exposition most likely. There might be a lot of new players giving it a go, I hope the servers won't melt down :D
It's addictive. I've made so many different characters, builds, masteries, and leveling never felt like it was bad or boring for each of them. I've enjoyed the progression of my characters through the campaign (even more with the slight recent redesign for act 1) and even after. Monolith are fun, you get a reward and open more difficulties as you push through. I've put over 300 hrs into this game and don't plan to stop anytime soon. Worth looking into for any ARPG fans.
You also have the arena and dungeons with the Eternity cache in the Temporal Sanctum. This game already has more to offer than D4 will have in the next 10 seasons.
I've been playing this game for years and no one believed me it's good! I'm so glad you are having a great time with it! BTW you left you helm in a crafting window lul
It's really great that you're starting up with this game. It's something else. It's great for casuals, it's great for pro's. If you have 15 spare minutes you can jump in, do a few monoliths, and make progress. And the thing I absolutely like the most is it's build variety. I NEVER play melee characters (barbs, crusaders, paladins, etc.) in this type of games, but in LE the most fun I've ever had playing an ARPG was with the sentinel auto bomber/smite build -> a typical melee archetype but in LE it was killing everything around with a void explosions and smite thunders. Magnificent!
LE is fantastic. I find it’s a great middle ground between the simplicity of Diablo and overwhelming complexity of PoE. It feels deep without drowning. Great game.
Raxx thank you so much for the love for the game and promoting it. Sub 200 viewers on Dev stream. 1k at yours. I can easily say that you are blowing up this game. Maybe that's why the servers has been laggy lately ;)
I watched a lot of your D4 content and just appreciate you as a content creator. But I just appreciate more than anything on how much you just geeked out over this game. You've sold me where I will likely be seriously looking into this game.
Glad to see you finally give it a shot. I played it earlier this year and was very impressed. Easily the beautiful middle ground where it's much deeper than Diablo, but you don't need a doctorate like PoE. I can't wait to play the final version in December.
Poe isnt that complicated, its a big skill tree that you slowly follow along 1 level at a time. Most nodes are generic +5 or +10 to a stat. Hell there isnt even seperate classes reallly lol.... since when is the ability to read equal out to "needing a doctorate?"
Glad to see you finally took LE for a spin. I've been picking at it from time to time since it's initial beta release and I am constantly impressed with the advancements they continue to make. I've loved your experience in Diablo game and am super excited to see what you learn and share with the community for LE. At the moment @Action RPG, here on YT, is my go to content creator for tips and guides for LE (if you have not checked out his stuff I highly encourage it, super useful and very well done) but I can't be more excited to see someone else with the depth of ARPG experience share their views/guides/tips form their own perspective, especially if it's coming from you. Enjoy the learning process it is truly a joy to sink your teeth into!
Played D4 for about a week and then found this. Haven't played D4 again. This game is easy to understand and pick up, but can be as complex as you want to make it. The devs are constantly doing streams about new content and answering community questions and there are regular updates as well. The community is extremely helpful and friendly too. Definitely worth a look if you haven't played it.
I played it 120 hours last year, now kinda waiting 1.0 to be released, awesome game and i didn't discover any game breaking bugs tbh. If you like these type of games, this is pretty mandatory to have.
A friend of mine linked me this video saying "One of the bigger Diablo streamers/UA-camr uploaded a funny video today", and I want to say it was a fucking blast seeing someone try to talk about the wonders of this game as someone who's been playing it for a while. My favorite things besides what was mention is the "synergy" element, having skills procc other skills in fun ways and/or changing aspects of it. Great game would recommend.
I'm glad to see you having fun with the game, personally I've already played 140 hours of this but that barely covered 3 of the masteries and none of them to the very limits of the endgame, there's actually an insane amount of content in this game already if one is willing to give all classes a fair chance.
The absolute best part of Last Epoch is that it brings something back to the genre that’s been missing from most other games. That one thing is the thrill of finding your own gear from what drops on the ground and for most drops to be useful via the crafting system. Even if you don’t equip it, those shards will be useful for a future crafting project. I also think the LE system of target farming is great. They are way ahead of the competition on this. Lastly is the crafting system. Not over complicated but robust enough to allow you to make any build you want. You can do endgame content with gear that dropped white or magic that you crafted up. It is a great system. I do also want to mention that LE has found the sweet spot of being new player/casual friendly while also having enough depth for the more serious hardcore gamers. Both POE and D4 fail badly at this.
I only have 19 hours play time on LE (from last April-ish) but I've enjoyed it immensely. I have thousands of hours in D2/D3/D4/PoE and I can tell that LE is definitely something special.
I'm super glad you found it enjoyable. I'm on the similar boat - I still feel D4 has great foundation to build upon but in the meantime I'm playing LE and waiting for DLC to Grim Dawn.
I played this for about a month before D4 came out. That was thanks to a video by DBrunski, where he was singing Last Epoch's praises. I was impressed, even surprised that I really enjoyed playing it. Then D4 came out, I played that non-stop until I got bored around a month ago, when I switched to PoE, which I have been enjoying on my first play through (I only have a level 83 witch currently playing in maps). Now might be a good time to get back into Last Epoch again, so maybe I'll wait for your beginner's guide and play the game again that way... Looking forward to more LE content, Raxx!
Search your inventory? Filter your loot drops? What kind of programming sorcery is this!!!? Money-grabbing, time-crunching, micro-managing, revolving door turnover, sexual-assaulting aside... How could Blizzard fail to get these 2 QoL things into Diablo IV before launch? I really want to love Diablo IV, but damn... You've probably sold me on Last Epoch!
Raxx you're a life saver man. I have been scouring every game in existence to find a new game to blast and I finally wore my self out. I decided to see what you been up too and damn if you didn't inspire me to try last epoch. Love your channel man. Thanks Raxx.
I like a lot about Last Epoch, but what I like most is that it feels like the Devs actually care and weren't forced into decision based upon shareholder needs for instant profit. I bought the early access game in hopes that it would lead to a more player-centered game, and it did. I hope that disenfranchised Diablo players will find there way to Last Epoch and reward their entire team for their efforts.
I decided to try it last week and im definitely enjoying it. The skill tree is awesome it feels like you are growing in power as you level and the loot is great... I created like 6 chars already and they all feel balanced and fun to play and there are so many options on what to do with the skills. Glad I gave it a try!
This wasn't the first channel that put Last Epoch on my radar, but I decided to take the plunge after your previous video and give it a shot. I've found it to be a very nice bridge between the D2 and D3 eras of ARPGs. Solid, crunchy enough stats, but not so many that you drown in them. Gameplay that is fast and reactive, but not so fast that I'm ignoring the whole screen. All of my deaths thus far have been "yeah, I shouldn't have stood in that/I wasn't paying attention" and none of the "there was no way for me to avoid that". I built a character that worked without having to look up a guide. I picked what I thought would be a dumb idea, and ran with it, and when I finally did check a guide, I was actually in the same ballpark as what the guide suggested. It has a lot of what I enjoy in D2, with the quality of life and vibrancy of D3, and avoids all of the pitfalls D4 ran into. It's not a perfect game, but it's very very good. A cash shop has appeared in the last build or so, which I immediately dislike, but I have a feeling those things are inevitable and unavoidable in the market right now.
Welcome to the club Raxx. I have 180 hours into Last Epoch from earlier this year. I haven't played since June. I got a little burned out in the end game needing to farm up corruption, but hearing you mention there is now a catchup mechanic for it makes me excited to jump back in. This game is already great. Kudos to the devs.
I've had this game for awhile. Just unlocked monolith or whatever then I stopped. If Raxx makes guides and beginner tips for this game just like he did with d3. I'll probably pick it back up again with his guidance
This video was actually the push to get me to try Last Epoch once the POE league was nearing an end for me. I'm only 15 hours in so far but damn, this is actually super fun. No guide, trying things out for myself, it's great!
You've reflected my thoughts I've had on this game for a while! Classes with specialties, skills, skill builds make for replayability. One build doesn't clearly outclass the others like it tends to be in the Diablo franchise. Or, you touched on finding one wild drop and suddenly getting that rush to make an alt that can use it. Apathy's Maw (Warpath VK), Helm of the Scurry (Squirrel Beastmaster), Aberrant Call (Flame Wraith Necro), so many others. This game is really good, and it's surprising that it's flown under the radar for this long. Glad that you're picking up the hype, and even MORE glad that I'll see content from you like build guides, beginner guides, and such, because you have an amazing knack for bringing things that seem very complex down to an understandable level. Thanks for what you do!
just personally, Last Epoch has the potential to be my ideal ARPG. it's like the perfect middle ground between PoE and Diablo. even just in early access this game is so insanely fun. if they just fixed up the Monolith system to be on par with Mapping before launch, it's the perfect ARPG.
120 hours in LE, I picked out the game out of boredom and curiosity, I had pretty low expectations. I loved it, i haven't played the last patch yet, but my general impression of this game is absolutely positve. They need to tweak a lot of things but they did the CORE STUFF right. Building is FUN, crafting feels rewarding, we had some connectivity issues in EU but in general the game is WAY smoother than I expected. I didn't even care about the multiplayer stuff, I wanted a game capable of scratching my "Grim Dawn" itch (btw Grim Dawn despite being VERY OLD is still IMHO hands down THE BEST single player ARPG of modern era). Last Epoch is VERY promising, if they manage to refine it and improve it, it's gonna be a blast.
I've started to play last epoch casually few days ago, I can point well on when you mentioned that you pick a random class and you just having fun blasting and learning about all the skill mechanics and potential, I've started with void knight myself as I thought might be interesting, it is really fun indeed and I haven't even studied half of its skills and tree there is so much to choose and I'm having a bit more fun than Diablo 4, I can imagine if this game graphics gets even better would be a very high competitor against poe or diablo genres I've been inspired from your d4 videos also and you doing awesome honest content Keep it up Rax!
I'm sure you've seen it, but their plan to implement factions which give players agency over how they play the game and interact with others is huge and unique in the arpg genre. I can't wait to see what the cook up.
I have to say that I hadn't heard about you until ActionRPG mentioned your interest in Last Epoch. I'm so happy you're really getting into this and so promoting this game simply by demonstrating how much fun it is to play. I picked up this game earlier this year and have 550 hours in already. I had 1800+ hours in PoE and have found the crafting and game mechanics so much more enjoyable in LE. There are so many more endgame-viable builds in LE vs PoE and the gear for these builds is so much easier both to farm and to craft. And as you mentioned, the guide is excellent (and not yet complete, remember it's in Beta). However currently the tab limit is 200 but good luck farming the gold to get that far. You have a new YT subscriber.
I played this game a few years ago. I was impressed by the way skills are complex without overwhelming you, the crafting system, the boss fights were pretty good and HARD. I actually had to learn and pay attention to the pattern for the boss attacks to beat the campaign. The only thing I disliked about LE was the story. In Diablo 2, I didn't mind doing the same quests over again when starting a new character, but in LE it felt more tedious and not as well done, although the time line system is unique and pretty cool. I have since come back to the game every now and then, and every time I came back the game felt better and better. Thanks for shedding light on this beautiful game, raxx.
after sinking 1000+ hours into diablo four in its first 2 months and beating the OG uber lilith thanks to the first raxx video i came across, Im so glad to see you with a buzz again my dude! I quit diablo for poe and boy do I adore it. Off the back of your previous vid I downloaded Last Epoch and boy this game is different. Im gonna be blasting this till luanch!
Yes, please start doing Last Epoch content. "I have been playing this game for years" and it's great. LE and GD keep me going in between D3 seasons. Loved D4, until I didn't any more, and that's fine. Glad we have other bangers to get invested in.
Soo nice to see you cover LE. I've been playing LE for 1,5 years now. Left it for D4 and didn't know how fast i had to get back to LE. The game is alot of fun, is very accesable and has alot potential for the future. Glad you like it too
9/10 I currently have 105 hours into the game. I have also played D3, D4, and PoE as reference to my experience. I have a: 55 marksman, 55 Beastmaster, 52 lich, 55 sorcerer, 54 forge guard, 53 bladedancer, 57 void knight, another 52 sorcerer, 56 druid, and a 15 acolyte. I think the game is absolutely phenomenal and I haven't really stepped foot into the endgame systems yet. The game play alone is by far the best of any of the ARPGS in my opinion and it's not even close. The amount of variety and builds, ease of access, and gameplay loop satisfaction i get from playing it is astronomical. It's easy to pick up the parts of the game that would otherwise seem daunting or confusing and really spread your metaphorical wings and enjoy the flight. If it looks, plays, sounds, and even smells clean...then it's clean. I just can't believe the game doesn't have more traction than it does. Edit: Much love Raxx, big fan
Tried LE two years ago, thought it had potential, but didn't get hooked. Came back recentely after the D4 collapse, and OMG the game has improved so much and i'm having a blast. Just try it, you won't regret it.
I bought this game a couple days ago, and the depth of the skill tree for a single skill was mind blowing compared to D4, D3, and even Grim Dawn. The loot filter was confusing at first, but I’m stating to understand, and it can quite literally change the pace of which you play. I really enjoy how you can play how you want. Based off the loot filter I don’t think changing a build endgame would be that hard. Just use your current set up and change the filters until you start getting drops for your new build. I’ve loved every second of it so far and plan on doing a play-through with every single class and mastery. Looking forward to what 1.0 brings
I had good initial impressions from Last Epoch but I felt like the game peaked a little early - but maybe that's in the traditional ARPG sense. I felt that by level 40 or so I had set something up at least ability-wise that was steamrolling everything ahead. The gear didn't really matter, and the stats and skillpoints were only going up further ensuring everything got steamrolled, I felt like I had non-earned engame-level power and it kinda turned me off. I thought the mana overdraw mechanic was a great, *great* touch because little is as annoying as "not having enough mana" in the moment and dying because you didn't regen fast enough. Getting that one skill off even if it tanks your mana into the deep negative can be life or death, or just the difference between clean and not-so-clean, and it's a very neat addition. I might have to give it another spin just to see how much further and deeper it goes.
Started this game a week ago and my reaction is exactly the same. Just pleasantly surprised everywhere. Every time I discovered something new I was like "wow that's well designed and really fun" I also haven't at any point gotten bored. The pace of character progression, dopamine hits, and the ability to experiment is done very well. Also, best crafting & gearing system out of any game I've played. Yes, PoE does still have a more advanced crafting system, but LE's crafting is much more approachable while still having a very high ceiling. You can use it at a basic level basically within 30 minutes of playing and feel like you're really making good use of the system, but at lategame you can do some incredible things with it as well. All of that while keeping item drops very relevant and you get some nice dopamine hits from item drops often. There are some bugs and issues (there seem to be a lot of loading / syncing issues when playing multiplayer for example) that need to get fixed before the release, but those are clearly bugs and things the devs will work on fixing, and not design decisions that I dislike.
I played Last Epoch extensively back in 2019, and then again at the end of 2022... It is definetly worth getting and playing. What I liked most is that Last Epoch managed a really good balance between holding on to the classic aspects that make the good arpgs good but also imbue it with their own creative ideas to make it have its very own personality as a game, Last Epoch can simply not be labeled "clone" of this or that, it is its own game, I really appreciated that. The thing that mostly made me put it down is a lack of "satisfactory feedback", the game just lacks some "Holy sh***" sounds, effects etc. Like in Diablo when you kill 4 mobs with 1 crot there's a splashing sound, flying limbs and all kinds of gore and fireworks and whatnot that make you really go "F**** YEAH!" i rly think that is the last pinch of spice Last Epoch needs.
The crafting is top tier, I absolutely LOVE that everything drops identified so I'm not wasting absurd amounts of time identifying gear, and classes have diverse builds to play the game. I can't say that I don't like the game, but what I would like to see is uniques with more interesting interactions with skills, like the Squirrel helmet for the Beast Master, and more interesting idols as there are only a few that genuinely make or break a build. I also believe there needs to be more in game to guide or force players to interact with specific mechanics without players needing to look at a "10 Things I Wish I Knew Before Playing" guide. The biggest standout for me is crafting, loot filter, and in game guide. If the game forced you to interact with those systems, that would be ideal, and it should be something mandatory for your first ever playthrough.
Playing it for over a year now and still loving it. It's like Diablo II, POE and Grim Dawn had a baby and had it genetically enhanced. I can't wait for the full release and this game to get the spotlight it deserves. Positives: - Fun build diversity - Builds grow stronger the more you progress (Insane, I know right?) - Simple but fun and impactful crafting system - Amazing loot drops - Loot filter - Loot filter - Loot filter Negatives: - Latest MTX was quite expensive although purely cosmetic - Endgame is a bit lackluster - Online mode is still kind of wonky (Offline works fine) - Not able to filter on forging potential

Thanks for all the work you and the team have been doing Judd! Absolutely love the game
Bought the game last year and im glad i supported your company! Cant wait to start playing on release. Your plan for Trade/SSF is out of the box thinking tbh.
Your game is amazing
Are the classes still gender-locked with no customization?
@@socjocinus Yes if your gender is a bear you should play a druid subclass of a primalist only ((
As someone who started playing ARPGs with the D4 beta, I immediately turned to Last Epoch waiting for D4 full release. Instantly fell in love, it’s so good. Actually ruined D4 for me as the entire time I was playing I was thinking “Why can’t diablo do this, LE can”
So happy more and more people are turning towards this game
You started with the worst then lol. Im glad d4 dumoster fire led you to decent stuff.
Don't you guys like to farm same aspects over and over again and break your eyes trying to find if it is already in the stash?
Started with d4😅😅😅😅😅😅
This is exactly my thoughts. I also thought - why can't diablo have loot filter, LE does!
Had a similar experience. It absolutely ruined D4 for me, and that was before D4 was ruined for everyone else. 😅
Those moments when you find that item that changes everything is what made D2 so much fun. I see it alive and well here in Last Epoch. Grim Dawn was another game that gave me chills even 500+ hours into doing the game.
New Grim Dawn expansion coming soon!
Grim Dawn has such an amazing story and soundtrack too. And the rotating camera, holy shit I love that in arpgs! I wish more had it... I only know of grim dawn, inquisitor martyr, and titan quest 1 with camera mod that do unfortunately
@@Tremulantone dude my jaw DROPPED when i saw that announcement on steam! idk if i can wait til 2024 LOL
Grim Dawn was my favourite ARPG until Last Epoch stole the crown.
@@ghostlightx9005 dude i MIGHT be there with you. i dont have LE yet, but im definitely gonna get it soon. looks fantastic!!
As someone who has been playing since the kick starter. I am so proud of how great of a job they have done with this game. I love it.
The crafting system alone makes it incredible. Never had so much fun crafting before.
not only that, but it's something that you can figure out trying it out
That's a good word for it -- FUN. What a concept!
Way better than the gambling simulator that poe turned in
Never understood this eBay Etsy gamer mindset.
I'm so glad to see more people playing this amazing game. Is it perfect? No. But the devs listen to feedback and have really made this game special.
So excited for you to cover this game. I've dabbled with it and I feel like it's the perfect mix between simplicity and complexity. PoE just feels too much for me sometimes, and we don't talk about D4. So for anyone that wants some complexity, that doesn't require a math degree. This is it.
Yup, can't agree more, I saw new stuff on this vid unlike any other Last Epoch guide I've followed previously.
If the game is that good then why is it not on Consol? Is the only problem I have
@@danielray6060because console sucks lol
this game even does the math for you by itself. So good
@@danielray6060it's not even fully released on PC
Hell yeah. Kinda comment I like. Buying it right now cause of you and rax 💪💪💪
actually devs with passion for game that''s the best thing can be done
That’s insane
What are your thoughts on the Shop release instead of bug fixes?
@@thenetpagan they need the money from the shop to pay for the bug fixes. Why does everyone tilt as soon as a shop is installed in a game. You dont have to buy anything. And it is still a company that needs to make some money in order to continue development.
@@ericvandersteen6647its a bad trend, as weve seen in other things such as diabhole immoral. Eventually microtransactions are going to be the end of gaming.

Lol “D4 went on hospice” 😂😂😂
When d4 came out I played through the campaign, fiddled around with end game for a few days and went right back to last epoch. So good.
Hahahaha.....it sure did the game has only 1% of his player base now. I'm hoping they can bring me back with these reported two dev streams where they plan to SHOCK us with all the new content. I'm not very hopeful but I'll watch and see.
Hospice! Took me 😂😂😂
Don't you guys like to farm same aspects over and over again and break your eyes trying to find, if it is already in the stash?
Enjoy Raxx!
800 hours in this game and still love it. Once they introduce trade and iron out the multiplayer bugs it will be the best ARPG out.
Are druids any fun it it? Can you shapeshift and summons animals? I wanted to do that in d4 but it wasnt fun at all. Im a noob in last epoch.

For half the money I spent on D4 I gave this a try and felt that I got double what I paid for it. Good, organized, immersive content.
Finally Raxx, you gonna have such a great time with this game. Same for the game itself that it truly deserves your attention! Can't wait for release!
Just bought it. Haven't even finished the video. Saw the skill trees and was instantly sold.
always love to see people enjoying last epoch, its was better than other AAA arpgs out there and deserves more recognition
I've played several different builds through the beta and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Haven't played the latest update but looking forward to it very soon. Multiplayer, although a bit rough around the edges on launch, allowed me to bring some new players in and show them the potential. They are also now fans of the game.
@@ooVIDARa surprise when its live? People been playing LE many many years now lol.....
Last Epoch is absolutely incredible. So excited to get to binge watch Raxx + LE content!
Grim Dawn would be fun to see you play as well.
Oh wow! YES! lol
Hi Rax. I have been playing Last Epoch for well over 2 years. It is a great game. Happy you found it. Look forward to your builds.
I'm looking toward your builds and guides for this. The community needs more and you're perfect for this!
Now he is playing PoE like there is no tomorrow.
Aged like wine. xD
I've started to play last epoch casually few days ago, I can point well on when you mentioned that you pick a random class and you just having fun blasting and learning about all the skill mechanics and potential, I've started with void knight myself as I thought might be interesting, it is really fun indeed and I haven't even studied half of its skills and tree there is so much to choose and I'm having a bit more fun than Diablo 4, I can imagine if this game graphics gets even better would be a very high competitor against poe or diablo genres
I've been inspired from your d4 videos also and you doing awesome honest content
Keep it up Rax!
I finally bought Last Epoch last week, and am having a blast so far.
Glad you're on to something you enjoy Raxx. I'll check it out when it releases later this year and when your guides are out :)
Glad you like it too
9/10
I currently have 105 hours into the game.
Same for me, moving on from D4 to Last Epoch (so underrated by the way)
Tried LE two years ago, thought it had potential, but didn't get hooked.
Every time I discovered something new I was like "wow that's well designed and really fun"
I also haven't at any point gotten bored.
Positives:
- Fun build diversity
- Builds grow stronger the more you progress (Insane, I know right?)
- Simple but fun and impactful crafting system
- Amazing loot drops
- Loot filter
- Loot filter
- Loot filter
Negatives:
- Latest MTX was quite expensive although purely cosmetic
- Endgame is a bit lackluster
- Online mode is still kind of wonky (Offline works fine)
- Not able to filter on forging potential
