    You certainly do trust that LPG tank valve, leaves, and bulk gas tanks well to be cutting, grinding and welding right on top of it all!

    Hi hank , nice project . Just weld and keep practicing . I don’t weld that often . I have a gas mig , a Lincoln 250 . Also have a Montgomery ward stick machine that will do ac/dc reverse . Can weld aluminum with it also . I had the stick welder out today working on the old motor home . Had to change around things to make a new gas tank fit . I usually run it on dc reverse . The rods I have really weld good on that setting . Got the cross member moved and welded back in place . Plus the top tank braces made wider and bolts back in . Good luck with your project hank . Nice to view your video . God bless …ed

    Hank you need to put sides in your basket so nothing bounces out the side. A couple of rings on the frame to hook a rubber strap to also. If it was me I would have made the rack hang off the center boom so you can keep your chains separated. But you had the right idea for keeping your recovery equipment together and orderly. Great Job! remember a grinder and paint makes me the welder I aint!!!!

    I think the welds would hold better if you ground the paint off where you put a weld. People put too much on how a weld looks. A rough looking weld could be stronger than a pretty looking weld.

    I know that you have faith in the forestry door on your Bobcat, but I would still put a guard on the winch box. There is no such thing as too safe and it could and probably will prevent a horrible accident and non of us want you injured.
    PS, an inverter mig welder with gas will improve your welding. Those Hobart welders aren't great and flux core wire doesn't make great welds. If the expanded metal breaks free, get some 3/16 flat bar, drill some holes in it and weld it to the bottom through the holes. Keep up the good work!

    I think you're going to need something heavier probably to hold expanded metal down cuz welding does work in some cases but heavier welding Mill hold expanded metal down in some cases but usually there's a certain way you got to hold expanded metal down

  • @kendrawilliams1348
    @kendrawilliams1348 7 місяців тому

    You probably could have yoused bigger expanded metal with bigger holes so it be easier to weld🔧

  • @kenny5174
    @kenny5174 7 місяців тому +3

    There are different disc for your grinder. The one you're using is a cut off disc, (not good for grinding). there are grinding disc, (not good for cutting) there are flap disc, good for removing rust or paint to help the weld. there are wire wheels, also good for prepping before welding, and for slag remover after welding.
