Amazing. As someone who lost their great great grandfather in the war, I'm looking forward to seeing this complete.

That's a very nice looking scratch built barn. The imitation corrugated iron roof looks good too, nicely done. You have the knack of choosing just the right colours to use or to mix together to achieve whatever effect it is you're looking for. I wouldn't have a clue which ones to use! Looking forward to seeing the diorama as it progresses.

BASSwood is pronounced like the fish! Also, I've found when using superglue, it's a good idea to press the parts together, quite hard, for the first few seconds. How hard of course will depend on how strong/fragile the parts are.

I figured it was pronounced that way, but I appreciate the confirmation 🙂

Great little diorama! I'm building a barn out of basswood as well & that Gorilla gel glue is amazing. I got you subbed to see more of your work. Happy Modeling ~ Cory

Great job on the barn. 1:72 scale is tough to work on as it is so small.

I think basswood is usually pronounced rhyming with ass, rather than with base, though as I'm a bass guitar player I prefer basewood. I bought a bottle of the Gorilla glue and found it very useful.
I like the barn, it does look neglected and uncared-for. It's a nice change to work with bits of wood every now and then!

I used to do a lot of cabinet making, back in the day. Most of the furniture in my house was made by me. It's always funny when someone asks if you made your bed and you can honestly say "yes" 🙂
