Same! It brings me right back to when I saw the movies; They were some of the first ones I ever saw in the theater. I found this song so haunting when I first heard it. It made me nostalgic then too, for the world of the story, which had been one of my favourites since I could read practically.
While I hate what WB studios did to New Zealand and their employees to make this happen, I can't help but love those movies. And this song just takes me back.
The slowed version of this song has an extremely nostalgic effect on me. Three years ago, I was working abroad as an English teacher in a city in Eastern Europe. I found this song and listened to it in my apartment whenever I was stressed out or down at that time. Three years later, I managed to return to this city I call my second home. So much has happened since I left this place, I got my master's degree, lost my mom to a fatal illness, dealt with this covid pandemic, fallen out of relationships, and I'm still trying to figure out the next direction my life will take me. This song is a reminder of everything that's transpired in my life since 2019.
@@azertyuip6237 Thank you so much! Looking back on this comment, it's all so surreal how life played out. I worked in Ukraine when I first found this song, and I was back out there visiting my friends and former students when I posted this comment. That was one month before Russia invaded Ukraine, and I left the country less than two weeks before the invasion happened. It's so creepy, and this song never ceases to remind me of my time there, and the lyrics "I see fire" really seem like a premonition now.
This song feels so calming and comforting but at the same time i get sad nostalgic vibes,i just don't seem to find the right words to describe how it makes me feel
i don't even know how i'm supposed to feel about this song. i can't figure out if i should scream from how elegant it is, if i should softly sing-along, or if i should sit here in pain. this is actually PERFECT fuck.
Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's sons If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out for the rope Stand by and we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side, hey And if we should die tonight Then we should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out for the rope Prepare as we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain And I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls And I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me Oh, should my people fall Then surely I'll do the same Confined in mountain halls We got too close to the flame Calling out for the rope Hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn on and on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain And I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls And I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me And if the night is burning I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns Then my brothers will die And as the sky is falling down It crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground I hear my people screaming out Now I see fire Inside the mountains I see fire Burning the trees I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze I see fire Oh you know I saw a city burning out (fire) And I see fire Feel the heat upon my skin, yeah (fire) And I see fire (fire) And I see fire burn on and on the mountain side
let me share something listening to this song makes me happy, sad, bitter & nostalgic altogether. back then i was into this one person (he used to sing this song while playing guitar aka the romantic guy with the guitar) but my friend ("friend") liked him so i gave up on my needs and happiness. i still haven't gotten over him and i still think what my life would have looked like if i acted differently. what i learned is that you should never compromise on your needs unless it's that worth it, you should be your own priority.
Makes me want to break through a locked door shoulder first and save a child from a burning building and return the child to its crying mother who's being comforted outside of the building by the firefighters.
This gives me the hobbit feeling the winds howling the trees creaking the water gushing the mountain echoing the grass shivering and the fire wildly dancing it reminds me of them the adventures of bilbo baggins
Have u heard every single song of his to make that accusation? I mean I’m not trying to be mean or anything but how can u say it’s the only good one when I’m pretty sure u have no heard every single song of his... I haven’t either but I’m jus putting it out there
I agree with you on that one. And I'm sure I haven't heard all of his songs, but from the majority of what I've heard, this is the only one that appeals to me.
You should listen to his deep cuts. He has many amazing songs beneath the surface. I find a lot of people that criticize his music are mostly familiar with Shape of You, Thinking Out Loud, and Perfect. I don’t have a problem with those songs but I wouldn’t say they’re the best he has to offer. Plus and Multiply have a lot of great songs, as well as his old EPs like Loose Change and Songs I Wrote With Amy.
Ed Sheeran has so many great songs he's also an amazing human direct your hate towards someone else that deserve it, you can say you don't listen to his music but calling hate is wild
This gives such a nostalgic feel to the series, I absolutely love The Hobbit with all my heart. Gorgeous

This feels comforting. Like you can finally take a breath after a stressful day. Thank you for this.

The second one is from Sauron
3rd ones from gollum
4th from Saruman
Fifth one is from Azog

Oh, misty eye of the mountain below
Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls
And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke
Keep watching over Durin's sons
If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together
Watch the flames climb high into the night
Calling out for the rope
Stand by and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side, hey
And if we should die tonight
Then we should all die together
Raise a glass of wine for the last time
Calling out for the rope
Prepare as we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky
Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
And I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
And I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me
Oh, should my people fall
Then surely I'll do the same
Confined in mountain halls
We got too close to the flame
Calling out for the rope
Hold fast and we will
Watch the flames burn on and on
The mountain side
Desolation comes upon the sky
Now I see fire
Inside the mountain
And I see fire
Burning the trees
And I see fire
Hollowing souls
And I see fire
Blood in the breeze
And I hope that you remember me
And if the night is burning
I will cover my eyes
For if the dark returns
Then my brothers will die
And as the sky is falling down
It crashed into this lonely town
And with that shadow upon the ground
I hear my people screaming out
Now I see fire
Inside the mountains
I see fire
Burning the trees
I see fire
Hollowing souls
I see fire
Blood in the breeze
I see fire
Oh you know I saw a city burning out (fire)
And I see fire
Feel the heat upon my skin, yeah (fire)
And I see fire (fire)
And I see fire burn on and on the mountain side

There is a reason for why everything happens the way it does.
For anyone wondering, I'm pretty sure the anime is Akira and no it's not devilman.
thinking about sense of life hits different with this song...
Any Throne of glass fans? Cause that’s all I can think of when I hear this
