Thank you for your video. In my experience you can read and write the chip with Mini ACDP, just need to buy the eeprom adapter, and no more need to desolder it. I’ve done couple of BMWs :) Another mistake you did is that you desolder it without putting some paste on the legs. To desolder the chip with heat gun, I recommend to put some soldering paste, to avoid frying the board or the chip
No matter what, a used cluster will need to be virginized. Once the VIN is written, autohex or any other tool can not change it without eeprom. You'll need to eeprom it and delete the vin or manually change it to match the chassis vin.
@@azcarkeyscomputersllc3315 Thanks alot for the clarification. - I tried it and my gauge pins do not align after placing them back. How do ensure they all align to 0 when ignition is turned off.
I just replaced the faded modules on my 03 E66, with salvaged ones from same model and year. But it’s not recognizing gauges or allowing resetting the oil change etc. Do I need to have this same service done to correct the issue? Is it not recognizing the VIN of my car as vs the one it came out of? Thanks
Can you sync my cas and key fob together. I got new key from dealer but I guess it’s not sync to my cas. I have a elv light on and my key is not detected. Dash has crossed out key warning

Hello, ai know this is a little bit old but I hope to get an answer.....can you do the reprogram of the VIN on a Camaro cluster?
wondering where you got bench setup for this setup ? , as i am looking to do simlar setup .
Please sir make one video bmw calibration
Great video. could the unit not be reprogrammed and encoded with autohex? which will rewrite the VIN and adapt the unit to the car.

Which module did you replace?
Nothing else needs to be done after this? I can plug it back into my e90 and go? Previous owner replaced gauge cluster I believe and don’t disclose
As long as you virginize it, plug it in and default code it, you're good to go.
How did you connect the CAS and cluster to PC together ?
Using a cas3 bench harness. They can be purchased online. www.auto-chips.com/full-test-platform-cable-for-bmw-cas2-cas3-with-key-card-slot-p4322.html
Can not just swap over eeprom chip from the old cluster to the new one?
The only problem I can see with that is if you mess something up then you have two dead clusters and an unusable car!
