    I did this exactly the same as you and now I dig the XOP even more as a traditional saddle less crap to haul as well!
    Thanks for this video

    You are not afraid to innovate! Lots of ideas thanks.

    Love this idea. I even thought about adding some shoulder padding to slide over the bottom straps for extra comfort on the loins haha

    Got my xop as a birthday gift. Cut off the hole shoulder/harness system, including the loops for the legs. Sewed in my own belt and took some of the shoulder straps and sewed them on the back to attach pouches to. Love the setup now

      That's awesome! I am considering sowing some loops on as well. I am rappelling now so I want a pouch. Good luck to ya this season 🤙

      @@doublelungarchery7493 i double tether climb and rappel down. I use a tactisaddle that i ordered slick with no molle or anything 11oz so no pouches. I coil my rope up and it hangs about 5 inches down from the figure 8 that i lock off cause the 8 plate is much lighter than a madrock. Total setup including saddle and ring of steps is 2.8lb

    Thanks for the video! I think you’re onto something there with eliminating the carabiner on the bridge. I was thinking the same thing. 1 less chunk of metal to clink around

    I’m a 275 pound hunter I purchased this I don’t intend on using it as a harness would it be safe for me to cut off the suspenders?

    I did the exact same thing but took the plastic buckle from the chest strap and used it for the belt clip so you can adjust for a different waist size

    Good Stuff. I did that when i got mine. I went and got an amsteel bridge for like 25 bucks. and had a prusik knot on both the bridge and the loop. I took a webbed belt that came from another harness, cut it in half and sewed it on the inside of the saddle for a belt. Here's a tip I come up with. Take the extra rope, measure the length where your front loops are, lay them inside, and use heat shrink or black tape to stiffen up the loops. You will dig it ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Good luck and kill a good one..

    What about using the chest clip as a belt by cutting it off just above where it attaches? I was thinkign about doing that to mine

    @alstonkrikorian497 Рік тому

    Looks like that might be the way to go! What’s your waist size? Looks like the makeshift belt holds pretty well

    if you woulda left the tags of the shoulder harness a bit longer on the back with two triglides youd have some hang loops for gear. keep the cost low and the freezer full.

    Long bridge makes for a double lineman which you will need fora tree with branches

  • @Bowhuntr

    The only problem that I see with cutting off them over the shoulder straps is that when you lay her up now you don't have no extra room to allow for extra layer clothes when it's cold

    How will that work with all your winter clothes on ...not much there for waist adjustment

    • @doublelungarchery7493
      @doublelungarchery7493  Рік тому

      I switched to a CRUZR saddle and it's much more adjustable. The xop is a good entry saddle to try things out but it's not the most comfortable or adjustable.
