Thanks! Just fixed the same fault with your tips and tricks. After the repair my machine started the little step(?) motor inside the new part and it was running for quite a while turning the small gears around for a long time even with the program selector on stop. I suspected something was wrong and pulled the plug. Plugging back in, the motor continued. I then plugged the cables into the old part and that motor started turning for a short while (with a much softer sound) and stopped. Plugging the cables back into the new part, the motor ran for a short while and stopped. After that the machine was normal and has washed quite a few programs. Not sure what happened, but this may be helpful for others.
Fantastic work! Not easy to properly light the area, record, explain and repair. Any chance that a faulty pathway would result in the washer having a “drain fault”. My w4840 throughs that error randomly, perhaps 3-4 washes in a row, followed by 3-4 complete washes. I have checked every drain hose to see if there is any blockage. I can’t see anything. I do however notice that every time it fails, the fabric softener I have added to to the dispensing tray is still there. Any pointers are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
There is actually alot of clean up that needs to be done on at least 5 different locations. Hard to explain but I would definitely post a video in near future . Thank you!
I like to see your repair movie's, verry good !! But I have never seen a miele with a plastic drum ! This is bad quality 😢 Is this machine made in Germany!
My Miele w840 has the Main Wash light flashing when I turn the power on. It goes through the cycle but does not heat the water. I have checked the element, thermistor, heater relay and also the pcb, and all are good. I dont know where to look next!!
Checked all the connections and all are tight. I took out all connectors and reinserted them. Tried with power on and again after a few seconds the Main Wash started flashing. I previously tested the element and the resistance was as it should be. I bought a new thermistor, then I bought a Used Relay (Eberle 3493494). I then sent my PCB away for refurbishment to a specialist and they said it was good and no problem. I can only think it must be the relay which I bought second hand/used. I have put a meter on it this morning and the results are the same as when I check my original relay. There are 6 terminals on the relay. Terminals 1 and 2 give a resistance of around 180 ohm, and between all other terminals I do not get any continuity. Somebody mentioned I should check the brushes, but to me this seems irrelevant as the machine goes through the cycle but just does not heat the water.
@@johnferebee3349 it’s most likely burnt wire on a connection area or communication problem between heater and main board I do not see anything else , please update me . Thank you.

The main wash light is still flashing even now all the time and the machine is going through the cycle but the water is still cold. I have it set to 90. Don't know what else to do!!! The water control unit you replaced - not the best design by Miele. First, it leaks. Second, it is tricky to replace without creating another leak. Did you say the washer will not run if the floor is wet? The new water control modules should have the link to your video printed directly on them. Great video!

If everything seems ok and you are sure about it , it has to be loose connection.

If the bottom of washer is wet it may not work properly or if there is water it will not work at all
