The Interlacing Technique (Photoshop Tutorial)

- Although I recommend using a full feature interlacing program like: Lentigram, 3DMasterKit, Lenticulator, Grape, SuperFlip, etc., which are specifically designed for creating stunning lenticular images and offer a wide range of advanced tools and features that can significantly enhance your interlacing experience, some people may prefer to use Adobe Photoshop for its versatility and familiarity. In this video, I will provide you with a quick tutorial on how to interlace two images with Photoshop, breaking down each step so that you can easily follow along, even if you are new to the software. You'll learn how to properly prepare your images, adjust the settings for optimal results, and apply the necessary techniques to achieve an interlaced effect. This method can be quite handy for those who do not have access to specialized software or simply wish to use a program they are comfortable with. Enjoy this informative tutorial, and feel free to leave any questions or comments below!
you are friggin amazing michael
hello dear michael thank you so so so so much for this tutorial. i didn't even try pitch test, apparently we have the same lenticular sheet, it fits %100 with the calculations you've given. thank you very very much
Excellent tutorial Michael! Essential training for new people entering the craft of lenticular.
Thank you
Wonderfully clear and precise. Thank you. As a newbie, what is the relationship, if any, between the 40 LPI & the pitch?
@@jburns47 , 40LPI is the manufacturer’s LPI. 39.92 is the pitch used for interlacing when the sheet is viewed from a specific distance. In my case that was 18 inches. You determine that value by doing a pitch test using software like fPitch.
Super helpful! Commenting for this to reach people with the same interest
Thank you!!!
Hello Michael. Thankyou for such a helpful video! I am just wondering if you have found that printing with regular printing paper works for this? Or do you think specific photo paper is nessescary?
Thanks !
White film is best. Glossy paper is second best.
after this is done, do you have to stick the lenticular lens sheet on it for the effect?
Yes.
Thank you for this quick and easy tutorial. may i know what type of paper you suggest?
Pictorico Pro film or Epson metallic glass.
Thanks for the info. U doing great. I a little question about the type of printer
Epson 4900 inkjet printer
woah thank you for the tutorial..!!! dear Michael can i ask you one question ?? how to fix the Interlace photo also ??? my camera shaked well when I pictured my little son..and I tried all methods but can't fix it..any idea?
I don’t understand the problem you are trying to describe.
@@MichaelBrownArtist trying to fix the camera shaking motion blur in the photo..i tried topaz sharpen and Piccure softs but didn't help..😔🤕
@@MichaelBrownArtist i can send you my problematic picture..😊
@@patsimon6136 , if Topaz can’t fix it, there is probably no hope.
Hello Michael, This was very helpful! Can you interlace more than 2 photos? I wanted to creating a moving image with 8-10 images... is that possible? and how much LPI would be suitable for a large print like that? Thank you!
Ah! Your answer on another comments helped (i.e using Grape interlacing software). I wanted to make a large art piece 30x40 inches to be viewed from a far. I have both 100LPI and 40LPI sheet... which one would work best to be a) viewed from a distance and b) using up to 10 images? Thank you so much M!
Hello do you have instructions how to make art lenticular made from 13 pictures 39.37 inches by 39.37 inches. I am new with this so can you teach this
Use the free Grape interlacing software. I do not recommend Photoshop for interlacing. This video was just to show the theory.
What kind photopaper use sir? Thanks
Pictorico white film.
Why 18 px? I'm using epson 720 and 14 px is it correct?
Re watch 2:33 (720ppi divided by 40LPI = 18 frames)
Thank you for this tutorial, is there any need to learn interlacing using different softwares or this is what other softwares does also? can you please guide? and could you make a tutorial about multiple frames interlacing also using photshop? Again, thank you for this one :)
This was just to show the basic theory. Use the free Grape Interlacing software if you want to work with more frames.
That is complicated.
Hi Michael, I have 50 lpi and I put 720/50=14.4 and and image's size 7x7 in I have done the size 50x51.1=97.8 pattern size 7.5x7.5in but unfortunately it doesn't work! I feel bad🥲
Try Grape or 3DMasterKit to do your interlacing.
@MichaelBrownArtist I'll try thanks Michael
@MichaelBrownArtist do u have a tutorial for these sofrwares?
