Major Lazer really needs a new video producer. This amazing song had so much potential for a good video, just like Powerful did, but also like Powerful, the video feels mediocre. I mean, the end of this video was good, but the story around it just felt unfinished. Maybe they could've made an animated video about the character Major Lazer's love interest (shown in the cartoon and the Be Together lyric video). I feel like this song might go the way that Powerful did, with the single barely hitting 80 on the Billboard, then disappearing all together. Welp, at least the true fans still have the amazing song to listen too.

People need to stop trying to accuse her of "copying" other singers. She isn't. The only vocalist I can think of that has a similar sound is Duffy, but even that comparison is iffy. Bringing up Lana Del Rey and Lorde is just ludicrous, though. Lana Del Rey, for one, cannot sing very well and Lorde is totally different. Give this girl credit. She is BAD ASS.

I didn't mean to seem bitchy. You are right, I just don't care for her voice all that much as far as "talent" goes. But, I like her material. I appreciate singers who are able to sing without effects. Nearly every vocalist uses effects, but the less, the better (in my opinion). I sing. That's probably why I am so hard to impress.
Lana Del Rey is a pretty girl and many of her fans are actually digging her image and that's why she is so popular. If she was some gross, fat chick, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

That wasn't a question. Her vocals on UV and Honeymoon ARE live, it's been said, and it's true. Do you know that layering isn't vocal treatment? The vocals are raw, despite you thinking otherwise. They weren't raw on Born To Die, which was way too polished, but they are on Honeymoon and Ultraviolence. No editing, sorry. I don't invent it!
Oh and I'm a singer too. And her voice is everything to me. Like you said, you just don't like her way of singing, so that's it. Let's leave it at that :)
