Worked with Liebherr in the 90s assembling ship to shore cranes all over the world. Loved working there. Is Adrian McCarthy still working there I wonder, took him on his first overseas trip to Beunos Aires in 1999 😊
Thank you for the kind words and for being part of the Liebherr story. You can actually still found Adrian at our production plant in Killarney, Ireland 😊 He said Buenos Aires was one of the nicest locations where you did installation jobs together.
Wow, technology make work easy. What about containers that are not yet free from the containers below them because they are still locked when unloaded on deck?
So what is the point of this? There is no difference, do crane operator sits in crane or somewhere else, it is still same, just tons of expensive technology layer added.
Dear SiiliViin, Thanks for your comment. These cranes are cabinless so the operator is based in a remote office with a customised desk and control system thus improving the working environment. In terms of operation, most of the cycle is carried out automatically, with the operator controlling the crane below a safe height over the vessel. The automatic cycle creates optimised hoisting arcs when trolleying to/from the vessel thereby reducing energy consumption. Best regards, Liebherr Maritime Cranes
The work of the crane operator is excellent

@@LiebherrGrouphow does one get into “dock jobs” with no experience?
So cool. Before the implementation of these cranes, port workers had to break up the cargo into pieces to load and off-load.
Cool content.
